I am a parent of a St. Matthew Catholic school student since kinder and I can’t say enough great things about the school. I even feature them on my billboard because I believe in the school’s mission. Tour the school, you won’t be disappointed, and the staff and administration are great to work with.

My child was initially excited about attending St Matthews …. The facilities look nice … but first impressions usually don’t tell you the whole story … overall the teachers are very average …. I think the school is more concerned about athletics rather than developing its students academically… I still don’t understand why they have portable buildings to teach students and yet they spent a fortune on an oversized gym which looks so out of place there… as for the rampant bullying… not enough space here to air out my grievances ….. they’ve had good administrators in the past …. But the last school principle was a joke.. absolutely clueless … thank God she’s leaving the school…. But she should look for another type of work…. Maybe working at a. All selling shoes…. She needs to stay out of education… completely. Overall, save your money .. go elsewhere …. Your child deserves better.

My child attended this school. It was horrible. The bullying and lack of support from admin, teachers and counselors was shocking. The level of rigor of education was lacking, as well. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

Excellent! You can see how successful the school is by how successful and happy the children are. My children can't wait to go to school each day. They are very bright, bilingual students on the honor roll.

Yes, they insist every year to reteach them

Posted: November 7, 2017

Enough home work grade wise, sometimes too much but not stressed out. None of the homework left out, all graded honestly and they teach the time sensitive about it. Make them sharper and be on time. Most teachers update the grade in RenWeb same day some teachers still need to improve.

Yes most teachers that my son came across are very great, helpful. Most teachers talk freely outside when you meet them, others think that they are the special people in this planet whom we can't just talk. There are teachers wouldn't want to say 'hi' when you meet them outside

Lot of opportunities to excel, NJHS, Music ministry, chess, best sports and many more to write. These tells everything. Academic competitions like PSIA and CCAC.

Posted: November 7, 2017

Students still can be given more roles to play and make them do a cross learning session.

Posted: November 7, 2017

Yes, Honors subjects. Excellent effort. This helps students who wants to take AP classes in High School

Posted: November 7, 2017

Great school, lot of learning opportunities. The sports are still being considered first than academics in recognition wise. That needs more improvment.

Had no experience with any bullying but I have little to no confidence that they will handle it effectively based on my experiences and observations noted in a previous section.

Horrible communication from staff to parents, highly concerned about safety precautions/practices, they encourage poor eating habits. They require each family buy a large bag of candy for the Fall Festival and then hand out all the excess to the children regularly throughout the rest of the school year - weekly and sometimes even daily (even after I asked them not to - which puts my child in a position of feeling left out). On a positive note, the facilities are nice and for the most part, the staff is courteous. My child doesn’t hate it there but he doesn’t love it there either. The only reason he likes it is because of the friends he’s made there, other than that, he says that he doesn’t want to go there. Unfortunately this school does a very poor job of educating the whole child and falls extremely short of the standards that I have found in other schools in the city we came from. My child is not excited to be there. I’m very disappointed and will be removing my child as soon as possible.

The curriculum is so far behind that of the schools I had my child in (we moved to SA from another city) that I fear he will fall too far behind if he stays at this school, Teaching methodology does not support creative thinking, exploration, or inquisitiveness in the children. There is no use of manipulatives or collaboration. Basically the teaching method is accomplished by tearing sheets out of a workbook and having the kids answer the questions.

No guidance given for children related to conflict resolution, my child reported the same thing that a previous student posted regarding getting blamed and yelled at which of course is directly related to conflict resolution (in fact a particular kindergarten teacher can be heard regularly yelling at her kids - even from across the hallway), my child completed a full year there and still doesn't know the name of his PE coach - quite telling.

It all starts with leadership. My observations and experiences speak for themselves.

My kids have been going to St Matthew since kindergarten. The teachers and staff are caring and do a great job of integrating our Catholic faith into core subjects while maintaining a high educational standard. The community of parents and students is wonderful. We have been very happy here.

I went on a tour of this school and was amazed at the warm welcome by faculty, staff and students. Everyone was very friendly and polite. Beautiful facilities and wonderful people!

Went to school to find out about the program. The young lady in front office -was extremely rude, would not assist me in touring the facility. Maybe this is a good school but without customer service I will never get to find out.

Horrible customer service. I went to have a tour and find out more about programs offered. The lady at front desk was very rude and would only give me a packet. This maybe a good school but I not going to stick around to find out!

We have just finished our 3rd year at St. Matthew Catholic School. My children have booth been in the lower grades and middle school. We attended another Catholic School before this one and are very pleased to say that we have found everything we are looking for at S. Matthew. This school not only academically prepares all of it's students very well to continue on to high school on beyond. The balance between education, religion and extra curricular activities is great. Children have the opportunity to participate in Honors Classes, Sports, Service Projects and various events throughout the year. It is not only a school but a community. There are so many family events. The techonology advances that are being made at the school are another plus. Please don't think the school is perfect, because every school can always improve, but I can tell you it's pretty close.

We just finished our second year at St. Matthews and couldn't be happier. We moved from out of state and were used to a smaller school, but have found it very easy to adjust. The school does a really great job of educating the students and provides multiple opportunities for students to be challenged. We have had great teachers, made great friends, and our child is happy and thriving. We had hoped to find a school that provided great academics and that also focused on faith in a true Catholic environment. We have not been disappointed. I would highly recommend St. Matthew Catholic School.

My children have attended this school and I have to say this school is awful. The teacher have no control over the student body. The student will leave their class and enter another classroom and just sit there. Students will randomly shut lights off during class, shut out, throw papers around, and sleep. Homework is not something that is given often. I'm not sure how anyone is learning. The parents of these kids think they are better than others because they have money. The school allows this because the school profits from it. I paid the same amount as these parents just didn't show it off there is no reason to raise their noses at me. They are in no way shape or form better than I am and their children will not be better than mine. I'll make sure that my children get the best education I can get for them. I will move my children out of this school prior to any more damage being done to them. This school has hurt their self esteem, education, and their whole concept of what school is suppose to be a place of higher education not kindergarten.

St. Matthew Catholic School is wonderful! The faculty and administration care about the students and work hard to make sure that each student is provided with great opportunities for success. The families at St. Matthews are friendly and eager to welcome new families into the community. This school is what a Catholic elementary school should be...St. Matthews provides an excellent education with an emphasis on faith formation and development. We are blessed to be a part of this school.
