A pretty school with decent facilities, but bullying is a major problem. Food is a major problem. Drugs are a problem. Fights are a problem. Admin is also a problem.
In my experience i got bullied for over a year and we brought it to admins attention it was a month of me being in and out of the office with bullying still going on. A friend and I also had to fill out and incident report. All that was done was a call home and NO punishment. The food is disgusting and extremely overpriced. Every week you find out that someone else was doing drugs or vaping in the bathroom. There are constant fist fights between students. Admin does little to nothing to support you. There is like a hierarchy of students and the people on the top won’t get any punishment (ex: the football team and the pastors kids) The football team gets more funding than anything else. Why do they need a youtube series with professional camera crews just for us to loose every game? Don’t even get me started on the work. Most of the time we are stuck staring at computer screens for 6+ hrs a day. The dress code is also way too lenient . Please, before you enroll your kids here read ALL the reviews on this site and niche. EXPECIALLY the ones made by ccs students. Becuase this school OWN students are struggling and nothing is being done to help us. This school can do better with the amounts we pay them.

i am a senior at this school and this is genuinley the worst school i have ever attended in my life. i used to go to a public school and it was miles better than this. they change principle every single year, the current principle Dr.Hood is horrible, unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. Many many students and many teachers complain about him. He doesnt make an effort with students, he doesnt answer his emails, it seems he just walks around doing nothing but taking his anger out on students. The previous principles were much much better, i genuinley dont know how on earth he got this job but he will probably be fired by next year as we have had 4 principles in the past 4 years. You would be better off going to any other school in san antonio. The learning is sub-par as well as the teaching, the teachers arent even qualified they just teach so that their kids can get free tuition and get on the football team. absolute disgrace of a school.

Shiny on the outside with amazing facilities but academics are subpar at best, the environment is not Christian, and athletics reign supreme. There is a constant change of administration because the Hagee family run the school like their kingdom. I recommend to not teach here or send your children here.

This school is such a blessing at a crucial time in my grandsons life. The education he is receiving, the emotional support he gets after losing his father, and the knowledge we have that he is receiving a fantastic education where he is safe is extremely comforting. His spiritual journey is exciting to watch. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cornerstone Christian school to anyone searching for a truly world class education.

Cornerstone has been a TREMENDOUS gift to our family, it is the real deal! My kids went to private school before moving to San Antonio and then spent the last few years at a charter school. I have been hard pressed to find a school that could compare to their old private school, but CCS not only holds up to my ideals, but it also supersedes them! The atmosphere is uplifting and encouraging. I will admit I had always been skeptical of the church/school connection. I spent years admittedly against putting my kids in since we were not members of the Cornerstone church. I made the very wrong assumption that it would be extremely cliquish. I am so glad that the past year pushed our family to make the leap and I wish I had signed them up years ago. Everyone from admissions to administrators are top notch. They are sincere in their interactions and are extremely welcoming. While the school is large, there are so many opportunities for new families to get together and form community. I am thankful for Cornerstone and the teachers, coaches, and administrators who continually strive to love on and shape each student. The athletics program is hands down the best in the city. From the amazing facilities right on campus to the coaches that lead and mentor the athletes, they want to build sports programs that will allow for scholarship opportunities across a national level, and it is amazing to see the student athletes understand the importance of healthy competition and the idea that the goal is to win so not everyone will get equal play time because that isn't life. It's refreshing to be at a place where kids who have talent and skills and who work their butts off can stand out and be recognized for their efforts and athletic accomplishments. If you're looking for a school where everyone is equal and gets a participation ribbon then you will be upset, but if you are looking for a school that rewards hard work and tenacity and doesn't cave to helicopter parents then this is the athletic program for you! For a private Christian school, it does not feel restrictive or overbearing and honestly the school is much more relaxed in their rules than the incredibly inflexible charter school my kids attended previously. If you're on the fence about whether or not it's worth the cost, I can assure you that once you become part of the Warrior family, your only regret will be not having applied earlier!

This is our first year at CCS and so far its been a great experience. The teachers are kind and do a good job at communication with parents. My son has ADHD and takes medication and the school is able to provide it at a certain time, which has been God sent and essential to his success. He is happy there and is learning and growing.

The teachers have been fair and the homework has not been "busy work" such as that of some schools. The homework is substantive and a great example of how a prep school should be. The high school honors and AP homework appears consistent with that o an advanced high school student and great preparation for college. Having a student athlete I an say that while it is challenging it is also balanced. My middle schooler is also challenged while able to balance school work and activities.

My children talk about their teachers with fondness and relay information they are learning in school which to me means the teachers are effective when children are thinking about the substance of their classes outside of class. My sons math teacher s extremely tough however my son will say that teacher is the reason he is able to do well on standardized testing and how thankful his is to have had him. My middle schooler has mentioned certain teachers when expressing how much they have "made" his year in school by the way they have taught the classes.

I believe the Warrior students are taught and developed in character and i see that the friendships and sense of community within classmates, teams, families, faculty etc. is strong.

Having been at two other private schools I am nothing but impressed at the leadership of the school. They make decisions and put things into action while at other places that action portion can take years to execute. The leadership appears to be always invested in what it best opportunity wise for the children.

I am aware that bullying occurs at every school in different levels. From my observation and experience the school investigates promptly and takes care of situations in an effective and meaningful manner. I find the school to be proactive in many ways regarding this issue.

I was a new student last year and I Only stayed for 4 months
First off the summer reading
projects are mandatory for new kids and only get a fraction of the time
I was treated worse and left out because I was new and didn’t “ know the schools culture “ some teachers were nice but I was behind because I was in the wrong level classes and never transferred me to my correct level.

Overall our experience with CCS and the administration has been disappointing. The administration is not interested in dealing with the issue of bullying on campus. The academics are lacking. The focus seems to be on athletics and not much of anything else. We would not recommend this school to anyone.

Sadly with the new school comes pressure of bring in the money to pay for the new school. We were told 17 kids per class , the average is actually 23 students for class and 28 in one class. My child a smart student was struggling with some new math problems and I told him to talk to the teacher he said the teacher doesn't have time to talk to us their is 26 students in that class. The bullying if your a athlete or a child of an administrator you will not be disciplined. When presented with the facts they chose the approach our child is integrated rather than the child doing the bullying. The administration and teachers are not on the same page. Not returning next year.

My kids has attended 4 different private schools, and out of all of them CCS was the best.
I've been that parent that knows what it feels like to be snuffed out by snobby wealthy parents with their snobby kids, and I can at lease say that our family was welcomed with open arms and love. We don't make a whole lot of money and we even had borrowed money to even pay for the Christian based education. Our family has always been treated with kindness and respect by teachers and other parents.
This has been a great expirence and I have no regrets placing my child here.

CCS was a decision that both my husband and I totally agreed on. I has been the best decision ever. They really focus on the best for our children. From academics; teachers/staff to state of the art facilities. They always strive for the best for our children and it really shows. I am so pleased we made this decision. I couldn't ask for better. It's a top notch school with a loving, warm hearted feel. I LOVE IT!

The fact that CCS offers an academic services department for the students with learning differences is such a blessing! The students have the opportunity to learn in a Christian environment. The faculty is very aware of the students with learning differences and they really work hard to help them be successful in their academic careers at CCS.

I attended this school for 9 years, the rules are rediculus. You can get writen up for almost anything. I have had multiple writeups for hairbands on my wrist, or the hairband IN my hair being the wrong color. Also in elementry the shoes have to be all white and I would get writeups because the eyelets were silver not white. So we covered them with white out and when it rubbed of at all, I would get another write up. However I will let you know that the Classes are challenging and if you REALLY REALLY focus you have the ability to learn and accelerate greatly. But the students and the rules will hender you. And i would not recommend this school, unless you can look past not so good students and stupid rules, and just know that the education will be good, but chances are you will be bullied.

I read some comments about the school showing favoritism and losing it's focuse. We have not experienced that at all. We are not a wealthy family, and my child has never been excluded or shamed. In fact, we have been impressed by the inclusion of every child. I love that I do not have to worry about what is being taught or the personal opinions shared by teachers. Every staff member is a professed believe in Jesus Christ. From talking to public school friends, I think the curriculum in the elementary school is a little more advanced than in public school. My son stays challenged. Our tuition dollars provide us with a peace and comfort, and it's worth every penny. We look forward to watching our kids grow and develop while at CCS.

THE TRUTH. Cornerstone Christian School in San Antonio, Texas deserves every bit of unsatisfactory rating listed. We have decided to NOT refer this school to any of our colleagues and business partners. Our complaints and disappointments are directly from the decisions made from the top...this includes the Board and High School Principal. We understand that Cornerstone would like to be considered a great school with high standards, but we believe that there are other factors that need to be considered before they could be considered or labeled an exemplary school. But KICKING PEOPLE OUT without a clear cut reason or direction is horrible. Grace? Forgiveness? Stay focus Cornerstone! Beware of the signed CONTRACT to attend Cornerstone Christian School in San Antonio, Texas.

Cornerstone Christian Schools is great! I have all 4 of my children here ranging from elementary to high school. My high school student transitioned from a large public high school and athletic program and absolutely loves it here at CCS. The students are challenged enough to prepare them for college which is important. All of our children are in a Christ centered environment which is priceless.

Cornerstone Christian School is by far the best private institution in San Antonio! I love the academics, the extra-curricular activities, and most of all, the teachers. It is evident that each teacher truly cares and loves each student. Teachers share the love of the Lord, and work side by side with parents to help students build a strong Christian foundation. There are many private schools to choose from, but the reason Cornerstone is the choice for my family is because of the people who work there. You may be able to find fancier schools with more technology, or more "bling," but nothing beats the integrity of this school and the teachers who work there!

I have seen such a dramatic change for the better we removed my daughter for bullying from an affluent public school and placed her at CCS school. She has so many friends she is excited to learn the word of God and she doing well in a changeling academic environment. I can tell you how many of these teachers in the 3rd grade who work tirelessly to help some very difficult students. We received free tutoring from her teacher, a passion to learn from our daughter and a wonderful administration. This school exceeded my expectations. God has truly blessed our experience and we will return to CCS.

Both of my daughter attended Cornerstone. My oldest went there from 3rd grade to 9th and then back for her senior year. My youngest daughter went there from kinder through third grade. MY oldest daughter, a social butterfly, enjoyed the school a lot. And I found that the academics were very good for her. My youngest daughter struggled, partly because of her adhd, but also in part to the other students bullying her. Out of all the teachers my youngest had only one was worth her weight in gold. The other teacher were not very supportive, they really did not want to deal with our daughter. The art teacher was just flat out mean, and one teacher was so old school she tried to get a left handed boy to write with his right hand. Overall I liked Cornerstone, but obviously it is not geared for any kind of special needs. I think many of the teachers are not very good and some should not be teaching at all. The administration is just like public school and will side with their own. And will show favoritism to the families that donate $$ tot he school. There is definitely a bullying issue there. I saw with my youngest, and I have seen other incidents with other children as well.

My children have been attending Cornerstone Christian Schools since the 2004-2005 school year and I agree that they have lost focus on the students as the school grows. I find that now the teachers have little ability to stray from a very strict learning plan, whether or not the children are actually learning the concepts. While the school teaches bible classes, they do not teach them to apply Christian values to their lives, because of this I do find bullying to be a problem at the school. My children have also had teachers who have shamed them in front of other students due to medical conditions. The administration has flippantly dismissed concerns that I have brought to them regarding these issues. They now care more about test scores and how they look on paper as opposed to true learning. I have seen these changes over several years and I have been trying to wait out these "growing pains" but find that my children are the ones that are suffering so they will not be going back to the school.

Looks like the negative comments are coming from the disgruntled parents of the children that were kicked out. Notice how the parents that claim to have found a better school but never say WHAT school. The academics are excellent and we are very blessed and happy to be a part of the CCS community. You get what you pay for and we couldn't be happier with the great education our children are getting.

I am sad to say as this school grows, they have lost focus on the students. There are the preferred students and everyone else is just living in their world. They do have some nice choices for electives, however if your child is in any AP classes, chances are they will get stuck in some of the less desirable options. It seems that some of the children get away with everything- while others are written up for touching the lockers as they walk or for wearing the wrong socks. Not many of the new teachers seem to care about the growth of the students. My kids went here most of their lives and it has been hard to watch as the changes may have gained more students for the school but have lost it's original mission. Bullies are a problem as well as theft. Many of the kids have learned they can just lie to get out of trouble and are more likely to get in punished if you tell the truth. Glad to have found a much better school for my kids.

I was a little concerned about transferring my son to Corner Stone Christian, I was afraid it would not challenge him and offer him what the honors programs in public school could. I was so wrong. He is so well rounded now. He did very well in college and has an awesome out look on life thanks to the biblical principles he learned in high school.

We love CCS! Smallest classroom size in San Antonio. Especially, when you look around and find some schools are cramming 20 kids in one kindergarten classroom. Teachers are great and there is a lot of parental involvement. Public schools can't deny children an education and private schools can turn those bad apples away. I'd rather pay for tuition than have to deal with that.

Money well spent sending my daughter to Cornerstone Christian School (CCS). My daughter has been attending CCS for two years now and she loves every moment of it. CCS has biblical foundation incorporated into their school curriculum. Their rigorous academic programs are balanced with their excellent athletic programs. They excel in reading, writing, math, science, and art but importantly, they teach students leadership/followership using biblical principles. The CSS management is bar-none from top to bottom and always objective but sensitive to the parents concern. The teachers are highly qualified and are eager to work with parents. Just like everything else in life, communication is paramount in a successful relationship. Parents and CSS teachers continue to talk with each other throughout the year, emphasizing on the child s spiritual, academic, physical and social progress. Their increase in enrollment over 20% in the past year is a testimony of their academic strength. Although there are many private schools in the area, I chose CCS because of their commitment to use Christ-Centered teaching principles. Truly, CCS is money well spent for my daughter s education.

CCS is awesome. My son has enjoyed so much of what the school has to offer. The teachers have been great, the office staff is always friendly and the principal is wonderful. We regret not having sent our son earlier. If we had, we might have been able to trade adequate, or mediocre school years for something special. Our son enjoys getting to school early and likes to stay late as well. Often the campus is filled with kids that seem just happy to be there. When your 16-year old jumps out of the car each morning happy to be there, you know it's right! We have seen so many kids smiling and embracing each other. My husband and I always laugh and say that it is the 'huggiest' campus we have ever been on. My son claims that the kids treat each other well and with a level of respect not common among teenagers. This is the first year in all his years of school he has made friends in multiple activities. In other words, kids still form groups around their favored activies, but their consideration and kindness for eachother makes them all feel accepted by all. A great administration, a kind and thoughtful student body and awesome coaches...who needs more than that?!

My chidren have been at Cornerstone Christian Schools for the last three years. Overall, we have been pleased. While they already have a good academic program, they are continually striving to improve. Both of my children have to work hard to continue to do well in their studies. Two of the things that my family truly appreciates are the caring teachers/staff and the way the school holistically incorporates Biblical principles throughout all areas. While no place is perfect, we definitely have had a good experience here at Cornerstone Christian Schools.

My son has only been there 2 years, and we are not members of the big Cornerstone church. I have never seen or heard of bullying incidents. He was accepted as if he had always gone there. I had some concerns at first about the grading and had a great parent teacher conference to resolve issues. The teachers really care about these kids. Alot of work in the honor classes but that is to be expected.
