The School for Young Children is a hidden gem for children with language-based learning differences in the Houston area. The teachers and director are all certified in special education with decades of experience. The small classes 6:1 ratio offers each child the ability to engage in classroom instruction with the teachers and other students. The administrators work very hard to keep tuition affordable. The focus is on the childrens positive overall development - academically, socially and physically in a small nurturing environment.

SYC has an outstanding student-teacher ratio, with evidence-based methods and education plans tailored to each child. The director goes above and beyond to ensure success. She knows each child and provides her expertise and experience to support individualized programs. I could never have dreamed up a better school for our daughter. We worried about the small class size, but her confidence and happiness have grown at SYC, along with her reading and math skills.

An amazing school! My son has dyslexia and an expressive language disorder. He is finally thriving after several struggling years. The principal and teachers are caring, passionate, and want the students to reach their potential.
