Literally not that much different from Belton High school. I only have two teachers that I can confidently say I learned something from and even though it's not supposed to be there's a few teachers there that are super political and willing to openly talk politics in class rather than teach. It's kind of sad that the school has so much to offer but yet doesn't hire the right people to show kids what they have to offer. The homework is kind of bad because you get so much of it with such a high expectation from each teacher that gives it to you. Every student I've interacted with at the school besides a select few do their work and they're very annoying and not very helpful when you request help. Also, What is considered "project-based learning" is just teachers throwing information at you and expecting you to put together an amazing presentation over such little information. Another thing is the teachers really only grade based on confidence or just how much they like the student and it's obvious because I will sit in class listening to a presentation where they will have absolutely no idea what they're talking about and still get good grades. Though it does help make you more confident in what you do it's not worth going to for advanced classes.

The teachers aren't teachers; throughout one year here, I have NOT learned a single thing in any subject. The focus on project based learning leads to inadequate time to cover the material. All of the students from this school are months behind those from the students that go to the main high school.
The teachers are terrible. The education is only half baked, as well. The administration at BNTH@W is horrible too. The counselor does not work to accommodate your schedule, and does not counsel anybody.
In the Honors US History course at the school, the teacher is not allowed to teach the first half of US History because it is too offensive by the school's standards.
I feel less prepared for college than ever before. The only teacher at this school that teach at a level similar to that of the main high school (that I've had) is the Physics teacher. He explains every step and actually teaches to his students.
Please do not send your child to New Tech or claim that it is a better learning environment. Mac Books do not make you "college-ready."

There is no leadership. It's chaos. There is no where to go for help, and if you complain about leadership, you get a referral for disagreeing with the system.

I don't believe that they are inspired to teach children.

Belton New Tech is amazing!!! It started in 2011 as a transformation of the former Waskow school. All classes are taught through project based learning. Students may participate in UIL classes such as band, athletics, choir and CATE courses at BHS. The teachers are incredible and really care about students.
