Every teacher my children have had from pre-K up have been phenomenal. The communication at the school is absolutely top-notch. As a former teacher myself, I have never seen a school that does so much for both their students and their teachers. It is truly a fun and welcoming place for all. My oldest child moved mid year since we are an active duty, military family, and was welcomed so warmly.
We adore the staff and teachers here.

Hardy Oak is the best place to be for my children. They love the school and the Principal knows them by name. We know they are growing and will be well taken care of. Some of the teachers are kind of old school though and really need to think about if they like their jobs. We still love it. But my experiences might be different.

Coming from a larger city, we are impressed with Hardy Oak. The teachers are engaged, responsive and my three children (one is on to Highschool now) love going here. This school and Lopez Middle School across the street pack an educational punch. If your kid is struggling, teachers really step up.

I can't say enough about my child's experience at Hardy Oak. Each of her teachers has been extremely loving, supportive, encouraging, and hard-working! She has learned SO MUCH! As a child with Dyslexia, her therapist, Mrs. Lara, has helped her grow tremendously! She takes such great care of her students, reaches out to check on them when they are absent, and makes learning fun! My child LOVES attending her dyslexia classes! She has grown the dyslexia program so much over her years there, and she is a strong advocate for children with reading differences. I can't recommend her enough! She's changed my daughter's life and given her access to the learning she previously struggled with in the past.

I had a child that attended this school and was neglected in terms of safety and adult supervision. This school lost track of several children on campus several times over the last year. They refuse to take responsibility or hold any employees accountable. The safety at the school is non existent and concerns are dismissed by the principal and vice principal. The security is on parr with Robb elementary in that it has none, with the same mindset of it’s leaders that’s led to that disaster.

Mrs. Lantz (K) is an angel and helped my son grow. He was struggling at the beginning of the school year last year and really improved a lot throughout the year. I have heard great things about the teachers. In all grades.

I love the program they have in place for their SPED class- the kids learn math and life skills through running a coffee shop for the teachers every Friday. They also were incredibly patient and helpful with my son who struggled with behavior and anger problems in the classroom.

I have had kids at 4 schools in the area due to moves and dual language campuses, etc. Hardy Oak has been our favorite. We especially love the Vice Principal Mrs. Jenke!! The PTA is our favorite of all the schools our children have attended. Their specials teachers are on point- just a great overall experience here. I feel like they care and are committed to helping my child succeed.

Hardy Oak is a wonderful school with caring staff and teachers. Lots of opportunities for students to develop leadership skills. From the principal down to the crossing guards, everyone is friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend Hardy Oak!

Caring, committed, capable, and competent faculty and staff. Many of the teachers live in the area and are personally invested in the community. This is our third year at the school. We moved from another NEISD school-which we loved, but Hardy Oak has superseded it in many ways. One of the biggest factors is the level of parent involvement. Hardy Oak has many volunteers. Programs run better, have more funding, have more helpers, which helps everyone. Many hands make light work and success breeds success; lots of successful parents raising successful children helping successful teachers to make a successful school. It is a community effort.

The GT program is amazing. The kids do not go for an hour a week as mentioned in a previous post. They go all day once a week. It's amazing what all they learn with Mrs. W! Overall, this school is excellent. I've never seen more caring teachers and staff.

Very poorly developed curriculum. Kindergartners get more homework than second graders. It's like parents are doing the teaching.

Teachers and staff are the first to bully the children. Kids development is completely ignored. GT program in Texas in general is a joke. One hour once a week? Come on, really? Don't even get me started on cliques... my kids feel that they don't fit in. Paid so much to move here to now have to pay for private school. What a waste.

It all rises and falls on leadership and the leadership in this school is lacking from the top. Teachers and staff care more about a paycheck than the students here. Do not send your child to this school. Try stone oak elementary, very different attitude and spirit in that school. Unfortunately because of boundaries we where stuck to hardy oak.

My son has been going to Hardy Oak since he was in K and he was there for nine week of 1st until the principle Mrs.Fokes had made him transfer out after nine weeks of school because we are no longer in the school zone. But they have no problem taking your money asking you to support the school by buying all these school spirit stuff and donating money and once you do it they find a way to get rid of you. They don't care about a child well being or feeling. All they care about is making money off the parents and having the parents do all the work as they over staff the teacher by having 25 students or more per class. How do you except kids to learn when they over load teacher just to save money. That probably explain why there is such a high turnover in there there.

Things have taken a turn for the ugly at this school. They are doing all of the wrong things, for the wrong reasons. This school is way too focused on the lighthouse/leadership concept, that they have forgotten the importance of teaching children basic subjects! They definitely teach to the test at this school, except on the days when they are trying to show off to outsiders that tour around to see what kind of leaders they are. I have become so disheartened by what this school stands for that I am considering home schooling. That way, I will be able to teach them what is really necessary for being successful (writing properly, spelling, math) Approach this school with caution, and whatever you do, don't dare question anything!

Disappointed with some of the 5th grade teachers. I didn't think I would have to worry about teachers being the bully, but at Hardy Oak I've had to address it on more than one occasion. Glad this year is finally over! I only give 2 stars because the principal and counselors are commendable!

Most of the teachers take care of themselves than students. They expect parent to do everything.

This will be our 5th year at Hardy Oak and as a former elementary school teacher myself, I have to say that this is one of the best schools around. The teachers are all excellent and truly want each and every student to succeed. They go above and beyond for their students. The administration is wonderful as well. We couldn't be more pleased with our son's education and experiences at Hardy Oak.
