In my experience, this school has been amazingly great to me whatsoever. The teachers are very kind, and mainly help you with any questions you have. The teachers only punish bad students when they really deserve it and give them many chances to change! A classmate in my college and career class has actually stopped being a trouble maker after many calls to home from their teacher, which they started to get more work done. The students at this school haven't given me much trouble and are pretty cool I'd say for 8th graders, plus there have only been about 2 fights throughout January to March. This school has been a blast for me personally, and my grades have drastically improved compared to my other schools from the 70's to high 90's. I would love to stay here another year if I was only in 7th grade.. Overall, a fantastic school. :)

Disgusting school policies. They like to spend more time criticizing kids attire and dress coding all day instead of addressing real issue like vaping, bullying, disrespectful teachers and weapons brought in school.

Neither my child nor I have ever felt so disregarded at this school. In all the years we've been in other schools, I have never seen my child so vulnerable as he has been here.

I feel disappointed because out of the two counselors, one is very kind and attentive, but the other is incredibly disrespectful. She pretends to listen but does nothing to help, and it’s clear she doesn’t enjoy her job. This lack of care is truly disheartening. Bullying every day, unfortunately…

Horrible. The busses are always constantly late, the teachers are disrespectful or try too hard, and the principals and rules are nonsense. I’m not saying this just to be salty, but it’s genuinely true. I cannot stand going to this school. It’s almost everyday black people (including myself) are met with some sort of unnecessary racism from white and even mexican/hispanic peers. This is unbelievable. It’s not the schools fault, but at the same time it very much is. They claim to have a “No racial slur/no racism” policy, but when there’s actual racism going on they go completely silent—I genuinely find it so crazy how ANYONE can just stand and watch a literal kid be racist to another. Not to mention, there are some teachers who literally allow nonblack students to say the N-word (or any other racial discrimination) in class. Absolutely disgusting. My friends and myself are always having to deal with racism but we simply sit in silence. There is horrible mental health tolerance here, and racism can highly hit that topic. Speaking of mental health, the councilors tell parents everything, so kids who actually need help not only have to deal with their mental problems alone but they also have the risk of literal grown women telling their parents their business. Not to mention this school completely ignores red flags such as students that may have ADHD or autism. Instead those students are yelled at and discriminated. I have so much more to say, and this is just the tip of the iceburg of my experience at this school. I HATE it here.

This school, like any other has its share of great teachers and not so great teachers. The one thing I can say for the district as a whole is that children are more than a number or a test score. Children are what drives this district. Personally, after removing my children from a Northside school because of bullying and lack of learning, one of my daughters went from failing in Northside to an honors student in one year because she had teachers who cared. My other went from a kinder reading level in second grade to a third grade level in one year, again because her teacher cared. The biggest problem with the middle school is the lack of parent involvement. After elementary they don't show up for anything.

This school is a mixed bag. Some teachers are decent and caring. Others would rather notify me of the fact that my daughters hair has a tinge of red & is against the rules, but not reach out when they see negative trends in academic performance. Makes me wonder what the real priority is here. Happy to say my daughter will be the first and only of my 3 to attend here. We've enrolled elsewhere next year.

I have had 2 graduates from here and now have a 5th grader. This school and it's teachers are truly amazing. They work hard and always interacting and know all of the kids and the parents. I love being greeted by my first name and the fact that everyone knows who my daughter is :))

I am a parent and an educator. This is the worse school we have ever encountered, totally unprofessional, the students are at risk. If a person walks, talks, and breaths, they qualify to be hired as a teacher or as a sub at this school. We transferred our children to private school. Medina Valley teachers unqualified and psychotic, should not be in the classroom. My husband is a high school teacher! I am an educator in a private school. Medina Valley is a joke, a nightmare.

This school is a disgrace to public school. My children attended this school less than six months. My horrors student was told my a teacher that she must be bipolar. My high school student was jumped in the locker room while he was naked. Although he did not hit the other 2 students, my son was still suspended. My third child was not allowed to used the restroom the entire day. She had an accident and was made to sit in her soiled clothes the rest of the day. When all of these instances took place I contacted the school. I was told an administrator was get back to me each time. I'm still waiting. I moved my children to a character school, where I was told all 3 children where behind.

My child has had a colorful experience at this school. She was bullied, and had to deal with a friend's drama in her first year here. We dealt with her being bullied and I think she is stronger for it. The school staff helped us deal with the drama. She feels safe and supported by her teachers now. Though I do question some of the school politics and how the children have been involved. Such as a beloved teacher being watched in hopes of hiring a younger teacher who would receive lower wages. I wish a teacher had acknowledged the bullying while it was ongoing, and communicated with me. I applaud my daughter, her friends and the nurse's office for their support. I appreciate the teachers who have encouraged her and made her days here wonderful ever since. I like the majority of the schools programs.
