My daughter is completing 8th grade. The campus and overall experience is positive. I can only speak to our experience. And to be frank, my daughter is socially adjusted and in Honors classes. So this is our experience.

Pros:
- school prepares children for critical thinking
- school is safe and has solid safety protocols
- Coaches are dedicated and positive
- Modern and well appointed campus/ facility
- My daughter has “loved” a handful of teachers and likes most of them
- Great Electives options
- Students are well-acclimated and seem to have options for activities, friend groups, etc.

Cons:
- a few teachers do not act in a professional manner (rude or degrading) - seemed to concentrate in 6th grade staff. One math teacher is especially rude and seems to enjoy embarrassing students.
- Some teachers exhibit unprofessional
behavior: disorganized, reference their religion excessively, overbearing application of dress code (e.g. following students into other teacher’s classes and causing disruptions).

As with everything in life- you get out what you put in. And a school is not a replacement for parental involvement or personal dedication of the students.

To parents complaining about sports programs- the school programs are competitive and select students accordingly. In Track, not all students participate in Meets, but are on the team. That’s more inclusive than many schools.

very poor education, not much useful is learned and the dress code is not equaliy enforced un boys and girls. girls can wear hats in side and boys cant. boys cannont wear trench coats but girls can for some reason. also, it still requires masks and there are only 5 covid cases in the entire town. blanket punishments on problems hurt everyone and the rules have still not done anything to make the school a better place. all wireless headphones/earbudss are banned even for those of us who only use them for acedimic purposes like the numerous videos we have to watch by ur selves in class all because 2 kids were useing them to talk during class 0 out of 10 is what id rate this school.

The homework here is acceptable and worth educating

Pffft. Yeah effective in a BAD way!! I came here in sixth grade and had a terrible experience with the some of the teachers for one example Coach Fallon. I thought as a student that teachers here or anywhere are supposed to be helpful and encouraging, Fallon is the absolute opposite! I was in pre athletics doing basketball and he told me I did not belong there because I was a beginner, he yelled at me, embarrassed me, and he was discouraging to the point my parents had to email him and he STILL YELLED AND YELLED!!! Besides Fallon some teachers were not smart about grading and didn’t think about different types of learners such as hearing and sight.

Pfffffffffft. That’s all I have to say.

Not really students here do not know how to behave themselves. There were tons of gossipers and selfish selfish kids.

I have had my feelings hurt by my best friends here and I told a counselor and she did absolutely nothing about it.

I am absolutely disgusted to call this a “8/10 school” I was a student here in sixth grade having to drop out after winter break because of people here are hurtful and the principal and leaders of this school need to get themselves together and really be smart about how they’re hiring teachers.

I am very pleased with the academics and teachers at this school. The teachers provide ample support and encourage student success. The orchestra program program is excellent and the performances truly demonstrate how organized and committed the music teachers are. The one complaint I have with BMSS is the way the athletics program is run. For such a large number more of students interested in athletics, the program offers very little in regards to opportunity and development. If you have a child at this school who has not had the opportunity to participate in team sports consistently through grade school or doesn't participate in costly club sports, they will not likely be able to make any teams or even participate in sports after their first year of attendance. After that year, students are taken out of the athletics training PE program and placed in general PE. From that point there is no opportunity for them to t win so that they can compete with the other students on the athletic track. As an educator of 15+ years at the middle school level, I find this completely unacceptable. Sad to place kids in this situation when many haven't even finished growing.

Fantastic. New computers, great athletic program. PTO goes out of their way to not only help the teaching staff but the students and administration staff as well. Teachers go out of their way to help the students. Teachers provide free before/after school tutoring. Would recommend for everyone.

This school does not take bullying seriously. No punishment for bullys as long as they say they are sorry. Then they can continue being bullys. Teachers seem to be ok according to my child but the admin staff could use some training if they are naive enough to believe that the kids are not smart enough to tell them what they want to here just to avoid punishment. Agreed that this school is cliquish and full of snotty wannabes from a disney high school movie. This atmosphere makes learning very difficult.
