The counselor and most of the teachers completely disregarded my sons 504 accommodations. My son failed English mostly due to the lack of his accommodations. I tried to call to sign him up for summer school, it went to voicemail. I left a voicemail asking the counselor to call me back so that I could set it up and my call was never returned. Because of this I switched him to another school.

Excellent school. We have 2 high school students and they are excelling in large part because their teachers are amazing and supportive. We feel like they genuinely care for the success of their students and they're always willing to help.

We've had three kids at College Park so far, and we love the school! The administration and teachers are so devoted to the students. We've especially been deeply grateful for the band and orchestra programs. You will not find directors who care more about their students than the ones at this school. They love each student like their own children. They are concerned for their mental well-being, and also help them develop self-discipline, concern for others, and other important life skills. Not only that, they somehow direct hundreds of students to create high-quality performances. The orchestra program is the best in the region, with consistently the most region orchestra members each year. Academically, the honors, dual credit, and AP courses seem to be rigorous enough, but usually not overwhelming. Not all the teachers have been stellar, but I think our kids have received a good education and are prepared for college. I've heard things about The Woodlands HS (drugs, negative experiences in the orchestra and band programs, etc.) that make me grateful that we chose to go with College Park.

Be careful with appearances. If your child has any emotional issues, this school will make it the worse and most unpleasant life your child will ever have to endure. They do not provide good teachers. They are all interest in paying bills, and with few exceptions will not work with your child's needs. If you are involved with the board, or is a major "donor" to school activities then it is a different story. If your son or daughter has any impairment or learning issues the school is not for you. The teachers do not motivate the students to learn. They motivate students to make the passing grades. Academically limited resources are available. On line material in non existing. Do not expert any social support, or your child's mental health and emotional well being to take any consideration here. The staff is impossible to reach and when you do, specially on the disciplinary end of it, they are filled with a bad attitude. They will not work with parents or be reasonable. This school is a nightmare. But they do party a lot and you will get tons of invites for money contribution as well. A lot of opportunities to give $$$.

College Park High School has been an amazing experience fir my two children. They are so many opportunities to participate in clubs, activities and sports. My children have the loved the dual credit options for college credit. The teachers have been so wonderful. It has really been a great fit for our kids. This school district is wonderful!

We had high hopes going in but have been sadly disappointed. Like others have noted, the administration (and most of the teachers) could not care less about the students or the parents. In hindsight I wish I bought my house in the zone for Woodlands HS instead. If you have a choice - avoid this school zone.

Their approach to homework is neither good nor bad, its adequate

The teachers, with a couple exceptions, seem there to just collect a paycheck and could not care less about the kids, and what they may be going through.

Have seen no evidence of this there

Dr. Mark Murrell is one of those Principals that's all administrator and zero educator. Sad, because my initial impression of him was very favorable, only to be sadly disappointed. His AP's likewise care little about the students.

I think College Park is great for preparing for success. Love the people there. I felt my children were safe and were learning when there. One of my my students did experience lots of racism from the students there which made it harder to focus on learning. I believe administration tries with these issues but not hard enough. My child does not want to go back because all cultures are not celebrated equally and the racism experienced makes it hard to focus on learning. There were some issues with students with disabilities as well. Teachers were very friendly. Our challenge was finding a way for my student to experience optimal learning levels.

Administration doesn't care about the parents opinion and not interested in what you have to say. Don't bother talking to them because the don't give a damn

I moved to The Woodlands, TX from out of state the summer going into my junior year. I found it very hard to meet people and make friends because they don't allow much time to do so. Walking around the school feels almost like you are living in the book "1984" big brother (aka all of the assistant principles) constantly watching over very move and every thing you do. They watch to video cameras constantly. One time, i went into the restroom, and was in the for quite a bit before going to class. Later that day, I received a note from the AP's office. They had been watching the cameras and almost gave me a detention for using the restroom for too long. Something that a lot of people consider to be a plus about college park is the teacher's focus on student success. They also have tutorials available before, during, and after school for kids who are struggling in their classes. My overall experience with this school has been quite unsatisfactory. If you are looking for a school the area, try The Woodlands High School.
