I feel as if there is no social or peer support for students. I get contacted every day about stuff that a teacher should be able to handle. As a teacher, you should know that all students are not going to be the same and some may need more help than others, but that is no excuse to find any reason to kick him/her out of class every single day. I think the expectations of a four-year-old are a bit much at this school. I definitely think the environment is a little better than other schools in the area, but maybe for the older kids age group not so much the pre-K students.

This school is a joke! The reverse racism is justified and overlooked out of fear of being accused of being racist. So the issue repeats itself over and over until something serious happens that cant be undone. And I refuse to wait around for that day.

The rec centers have now gone up to 240$ a month and I now need to pay for before and after care due to the odd time frame ( 3 children) and not helping when they have to transfer to Middle School. They need to change school hours its unacceptable how this is even allowed.

You let the children out at 3:50pm (because you start school at 9:15 ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS) and give over a hour of homework or more a night.

THis has been the worst experiance and I am so happy my child is out of this school and into a better one. If you can avoid it please do not worth the stress and your child does not learn.

There was no communication with the teacher she did not use class dojo and we had no parent teacher meeting all year she did not send home graded papers at all so I was unaware how my child was doing

The principal is never available when i have a issue with something.....The school is extremely dirty and old.I have to wait for my child to come out of the building to pick him up! IN THE COLD AND RAIN! The cafertia workers are verbally abusive to the students and the assistant principal and principal is aware and does NOTHING ABOUT IT! The whole damn school is a depressing disgrace!

I feel as if this school had faced many challenges in the past and they might have the crew they need to get that turned around. Yes, the school is dated and so are there communication procedures. Although they are improving that. They are a very caring bunch. Ali students received free breakfast to eat in the classroom before class started. This school provides dinner meals, free of charge, to anyone under the age of 18. I LOVED the teachers we had this past year. We moved up here right before the 2015 school year began and I was leary of the school for their low rating. But, I was astounded at how much that didn't matter to me anymore once we became involved. I was very active in both my children's classes, K and 3rd, and I was invited to do so. I highly recommend this school. They are also working towards becoming accredited and improving their test scores.

My son has challenges and we decided to take him out of private school and send him to public school in the middle of kindergarten. Although he had a rough year, we felt encouraged that both the teachers and administration were so attentive and involved. Although the class size was larger than his previous school, I really felt that when I spoke with the teachers, they all knew my son well and wanted him to succeed just as much as we did. There are things that I don't like, too. They're communication is outdated (not much use of email or websites) and I found that there isn't much parental involvement, but overall we're impressed with the school and the faculty. My son is now in first grade and he's improved so much thanks to the open communication with his teachers and staff. I would absolutely recommend this school.

This school has been great, my daughter's teacher Ms.Barnes has been a great influence and role model. My daughter went from disliking and struggling in math and at the end of the year my daughter had pulled her grade up to a 'B'. My daughter now has the tools to figure out any math problem that our family has thrown at her. KUDOS TO THE STAFF AT THE SHERWOOD FOREST.
