The teachers and staff at this school are absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, the administration does not match their level of excellence.

Students are punished excessively for small offenses. Teachers and families fear retaliation for speaking out.
Sadly, seasoned educators and some students have left the school as a result of these and other leadership concerns.

I used to have nothing but good things to say about arrowhead but that all went out the window when the current principal started. She is HORRID. So many loved teachers have left because of her. She doesn’t know how to handle her job and doesn’t have the best interest of the students at heart. It’s sad when there isn’t a student/parent/teacher that has anything good to say about her.

I’ve had a deeply disappointing experience with Arrowhead Elementary School. In my opinion, the administration does not prioritize the well-being of its students. Instead of working collaboratively to support students through challenges, it often feels like they seek reasons to push students out rather than help them thrive.
There seems to be a pattern of creating unnecessary conflict rather than resolving issues constructively. Additionally, the school does not take responsibility for its mistakes and fails to offer reasonable solutions or alternatives when concerns are raised.
More troubling, there are indications of discriminatory practices that should not be overlooked. I strongly urge families to approach with caution and advocate firmly for their children if they choose to enroll here.

The children need more practice at home. However, they need to know how to do it when they get home and parents should not have to teach and reteach anything. Most people complain about the amount of homework because of the amount of teaching required for their child to complete it.

Honesty and integrity are fostered by faculty and staff. What's viewed as "honest" and "integrity" is fairly objective and concrete, and the definition of which is common to most people. "Fairness" on the other hand, is hard to develop and maintain when it is so subjectively perceived (and subjectively defined) by a diverse group of people.

1.) Teachers: they are competent, friendly, approachable, and always respond to emails and calls. My child's test scores improved after transferring to this school. I believe it's because of the tag-team instruction method used in the upper grades: benefiting from teachers who are extra-certified in a particular subject. I do wish the teachers would check planners more, even for the upper grades. Planners are often the only way parents know what their child is doing in school. It sometimes feels like the only link between school and home. If it is empty, there's no way we can hold our children accountable at home. Also, teachers should send out a weekly memo stating which broad topics will be discussed the next week. Involved parents like to supplement and reinforce their child's learning. I've heard one of the teachers say, "Bogging your child down with extra homework could make them resent and hate school." True, but not all children react like that, and my child needed the extra practice. Also, MAKE SURE STUDENTS COME HOME KNOWING HOW TO DO THE HOMEWORK. Homework is for extra practice, not instruction. Unless you want parents confusing their children or teaching shortcut methods that teachers don't accept! Those few complaints I have regarding the teachers pale in comparison to the benefits of their expertise as instructors.
2.) Administration: I do not like the way questionable matters are handled in this school. Approaching an accused child with questions like, "Is there anything you want to tell me?" is going to get an obvious, "No." This do-nothing approach to discipline and referring everything to the guidance counselor is absurd.
3.) Guidance: The school's counselor has a great rapport with the students, is fantastic with morale and confidence-building. Not sure if she is the best at communicating with parents, particularly about their child's academic prospects.
4.) Students/Parents: Good school zone with great kids, great parents, in great neighborhoods.

Lastly:
5.) There needs to be more supervision on buses, in bathrooms, at lunch, and during gym. Everything "bad" that happens, happens during these unsupervised times.
6.) Also, the red top ruins shoes, and dry erase markers ruin clothes. Save yourself and your child some grief by having them wear things that won't stress you out to have gotten ruined.

My wife and I have attended several events and the energy at the school is wonderful. They push the kids hard (we have one in kindergarten) but the staff and administration is friendly and attentive. I proud to see active and informed teachers with respect to social media and technology.

Arrowhead Elementary I have had trouble in K, 1st and already this year in 2nd. There is always work sent home wrong and not corrected. We do home work every night. Never correct or even a mark that the teacher has looked at it. Sent notes half the time no reply. Only time we know if they are doing good or bad is a little sheet they send home on Fridays. then we still don't know anything about the hours of home work we have done.

Beautiful school staff is amazing cannot complain !! I am upset I have paid for private....its not worth the money!!

I am very sad to write this review as this was the same school I attended as a child and had great experiences . When we moved back into the neighborhood we expected the same things for our children and this was NOT the case. The staff was not willing to accommodate my daughter's peanut allergy and put her in harms way on MULTIPLE occasions even going against a 504 plan. We ended up selling our home so we don't have to pay for private school next year just so our kids do not have to attend this school.

The teachers at this school are amazing. They work with the children very well. They have made a lot of improvements to the inside as well as the outside of the school. I would recommend this school to anyone I knew.
