I’m not sure how this school has so many great reviews. In my option it’s been awful. A lot of it is the school system itself, like closing for a voting day then adding 10 mins a day to the end of the school day for an entire month. Truly insane. I have two daughters kindergarten and 3rd grade, and both of their teachers give them weekly homework packets. It’s just busy work! Half the time it’s not even relevant to current lessons. Teachers clearly aren’t using their time wisely and expect parents to do homework every single night. Oh and don’t even get me started on the CONSTANT flyers or random events I get weekly about raising money for the school. I DO not recommend this school at all.

We have nothing but positive feedback about Linkhorn Park. My son is thriving and loves his teachers who are extremely thoughtful and helpful. The team goes above and beyond any expectation I had as a parent. The appropriate accommodations are made for my son and communication is clear. The AM instructor who I adore is Art and play therapy based. She is extremely intelligent. I am very grateful to be a Linkhorn Lion Mom.

My daughter has had a wonderful first year at Linkhorn Park. She loves her teacher Mrs. Ferguson, and is excited to go to school! Mrs. Ferguson makes learning fun and exciting! Mrs. Gelwick is also an incredibly important part of my daughters learning experience. She speaks very highly of both of her teachers!

My daughter has been a student at Linkhorn Park Elementary since kindergarten. She is now going into the fourth grade. Linkhorn Park has been AMAZING!! I couldn’t be happier with our experience at this school!! My sister even moved her son from private school , so that he could attend this awesome school. She is also very pleased with this school. Teachers are GREAT, but the principal (Ms. Barbra Sessoms) is the absolute BEST! Unfortunately, Ms. Sessoms will be retiring at the end of this year (2018) & we are all very SAD to see her leave! It will be almost impossible to find someone that will compare to her & the compassion that she has for the students at Linkhorn Park! She truly has made Linkhorn Park the BEST SCHOOL IN VIRGINIA BEACH (in my opinion)! I am not the easiest person to please, by any means. In fact, I am really really picky. So for me to say that Linkhorn Park Elementary School is a GREAT SCHOOL, really says something!! You won’t be disappointed if you choose Linkhorn Park Elementary School for your child’s education, I PROMISE!!

I love this school and it is sad that it is our last year here due to relocation. This school works hard to make sure the kids are succeeding. My child has an IEP and they stay on top of it and make sure he is meeting every milestone and more. I could not be happier with the care and education my child has received since he has attended!!

My son attends the Math & Science Academy at Linkhorn. Overall we've been pleased but we have felt that there has not been as much communication with the parents as we would like. However, this year we are lucky enough to have a new principal, Barbara Sessoms. She was the principal at my son's previous school (W.T. Cooke) and we thought she did a fabulous job. We are already starting to see some changes and hope that she'll be able to continue improving.

I love everything about Linkhorn. Very sad that Linda Sidone (principal) has retired, but I feel confident there will be somebody equally as good to take her place. The parent involvement is amazing!!

I've had kids going to Linkhorn Park Elementary for 8 years now & I've never had an issue. The teachers are absolutely wonderful, the staff go above & beyond to help you, & the students never go without what they need thanks to all the generous parents that donate their time/money. I've volunteered there for years & I really enjoy working with students as well as the staff. The school as an incredible Math & Science Academy, which begins in 3rd grade, & my daughters love it! My husband & I had considered putting our kids in private school early on, but we're glad we didn't go through it as Linkhorn sets the bar high & continues to to meet it every year!

I love this school! My fourth grader has had the best experiences here with teachers who are fun, fair and wonderful educators. The principal is always visible and available for any questions or concerns as is the VP and the office staff is cheerful and helpful. My daughter has soared in reading this year, and the extra help she receives in math is all due to in house tutoring available to every student. I am proud to say she is an honor roll student each quarter this year and it is all due to the hard work and dedication of the teachers! Mrs. Ware and Mrs. Phillips are great to work with and stay in constant communication with parents and the second grade staff was equally accommodating. THIS is the place to be in VA Beach.
