Good luck trying to find anything wrong with this school! The administration loves these kids and treats everyone like family. Never in my life have I experienced such a phenomenal school.

Just a very nice school. Our kids all have a great time and love Shelton Park.
Academics are good and the school is well run. We love being able to stop for lunch in the cafeteria with our kids and overall theres a great community feel.

I can not say enough good things about the leadership at shelton park. They make sure the at their doors are always open and they communicate regularly with parents!

My child is in 1st grade, and this is his first year here. This school is much better than the last school he attended. His teacher, Ms. Benson, is awesome! She has great communication, is very friendly, and has a healthy outlook on homework for kids this age (minimal and no busywork). My son is constantly bringing home work that incorporates art or drawing. This really helps to make learning more fun when he can be creative with it. The school has a lot of family events in the evening. My only disappointment is that there aren't any musical programs that incorporate all the grades. This school offers PE daily, both art and music weekly, iPad learning each week, and they have several computers in the room that they can plan educational games on. The gifted teacher already visits the whole 1st grade, even though they haven't done the testing yet. I do wish recess were separate from PE, as the kids don't see it as free time, since they have to choose one station and stay there. Overall though, I have been very happy with the school as a whole, and we are disappointed to be leaving here next year (military). I'm hoping our next school is as good as Shelton Park.

Check the school's SOL scores by grade level. If your child has a disability their chances of passing the SOLs are significantly lower than a student without disabilities. This school does not put the needs of a disabled child first. The desires of the reasonable parent are not taken into regard. If your child has not been identified as a child with disabilities prior to enrollment prepare to fight for their rights. I personally have had the worst experience with this school in comparison to anywhere else.

My daughter has been going to Shelton Park for the last two years. Her kindergarten teacher was awesome!! Worked with all the kids one on one if need be and helped them progress further as a class and individually aswell. Her first grade teacher is just as awesome! The teachers at Shelton Park take their time to get to know their students strengths and weaknesses. They at times may seem hard but they like to give our children some challenges in order for them to excel even more. This school has strong ties with military families as well and understands the needs of the military children. We enjoy this school and hope to remain in this school for as long as we are stationed here :)

I'm so sorry we have to move away from this wonderful school at the end of the year. My child is in Kindergarten, and his teachers are amazing! The teachers and front desk staff, are always so friendly and helpful. I was worried the all day Kindergarten would be too taxing on my son, but he has blossomed so much, and loves school! We're not even halfway through the school year, and I am amazed at how much his reading skills have improved. Any parent should consider themselves lucky, if their child attends Shelton Park!
