Our student had a very mixed experience at this school, but overall 1 star due to the administration. Multiple incidents involving bullying and injury to our student , with zero consequences or action from administration, negligent behavior. Over the past year we had multiple incidents that were brought to the attention of admin, including another student breaking our student's bone, which was a very serious injury. No consequences for the other student and administration retaliated when we pushed for action/consequences. Was basically told that "boys will be boys". Our student did have 3 very good teachers during their time there, but also 2 teachers that were very rough. So overall, a very mixed bag of educators. I would definitely not recommend this school, with the current administration.

Tallwood is a great school. Both my boys loved it. Teachers wonderful and they take care of ALL students. Tallwood has “0” tolerance for bullying. The teachers build a bond with the students and as a parent when I leave my boys in the care of the school, I expect my boys to be able to feel safe, respected, and learning their work. And all of that applies with Tallwood.

My son has been enrolled in this school since kindergarten and all the staff and teachers have been great with him. The teachers care about the children.

Apparently only upset parents take the time to comment. We have loved the few years we have had at Tallwood and every teacher and staff member that we have come in contact with. It has been a huge step up from college park and we couldn't be more thankful that God brought us to such a wonderful environment! My son and I have enjoyed his field trips together and his teachers have made every part of this wonderful for both of us. Even the school nurse is sure to keep me informed with all that is happening :) It is certainly an experience that we will never forget. Thank you Tallwood!

This school is terrible. The teachers seem to be lazy and incompetent. Just look at where Tallwood places in rank and that speaks for itself. There is no communication from the teacher to let the parent know their student is struggling in a specific area. The report card has zero notes indicating area for improvement. Basically Tallwood Elementary is a check the box kind of school with little to know communication with the parent. The PTA a is useless because all they want is your money. The PTA does not care about your opinion of feelings. The PTA does not disclose their goals or what they hope to achieve with your dues. But simply tells you in a poorly written flyer that if you join the PTA you will receive a cool bumper sticker and your student may receive a cupcake party. Wow a bumper sticker and a cupcake party well that fixes everything. "sarcasism"

I am incredibly dissatisfied with this school! My child has special needs and because my child is not a behavior problem, such as being disrespectful, fighting, and being disruptive , the school acts as though they do not want to do anything to help. So they will allow her to just get by, as long as she is passing by a low D! I am completely frustrated here! And now when I walk into the school, I feel so uncomfortable and like I've done something wrong and they want to push me out of the school! Which in turn makes my family very uncomfortable!!!

I love this school. My child was in the preschool program and had awesome teachers who help him to flourish. My child was premature and had many delays. When he walked into the doors of Tallwood Elementary, he wasn't talking and had other issues. Now my child speaks clearly, knows is colors, numbers, and is ready for Kindergarten. I am sad that he will be attending another school in the fall, but I am grateful that he is ready. I know it is because of the administration and the wonderful teachers who supported me through my son s preschool educational journey. Thank you Tallwood Elementary! You will be missed.
