As a student here, this school isn't cool. First off, everyone here is either rude or a bad person. There's no in between. Fights are so common here. I'm in the 8th grade and in 1st quarter currently and there's already been 5+ fights (there's probably fights I haven't even heard of). Second off, the counselors don't help tbh. They just call your parents if you have issues and don't even try to help. Third off, the kids swear 24/7. It's not the most problematic thing about this school but for parents that don't want their kids to be exposed to explicit language and stuff like that, this school wouldn't be a good place for them. Fourth of all, the kids here are discriminating (ex: racist, homophobic, ablest, ect) against people that aren't like them. Fifth and finally, it's just not fun to learn here. Some teachers make the class fun (i appreciate y'all sm) but most teacher's classes are extremely boring and it's not fun to learn at all. I do not recommend enrolling your child here.

My child's homework has been minimal, which is important to me. I appreciate homework being given when needed, but not as busy work so kids can focus on other interests.

Posted: May 14, 2019

We have had an occasional lemon, but most teachers have connected with my child.

Posted: May 14, 2019

Teachers work very hard to develop the entire child.

Overall excellent school. Schools and kids are more than test results. School does a great job with a very econimically diverse population.

First school my son has not had to worry about this at all.

Posted: March 2, 2019

Students are given homework on a regular basis and reminded verbally, written and electronically about items due, quizzes, and tests.

Posted: March 2, 2019

Exceptional work and dedication from every teacher in each subject and reminders for extra help is always made readily available. Teachers and staff really go out of their way to be there for these students. Parents are reminded by email, texts, calls on a regular basis and encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities.

My own student has grown while attending DMMS and has more confidence in himself now then what he had walking into the school.

Posted: March 2, 2019

Leadership found in all teachers, principals, staff and Dr. Van Heukleum (superintendent) They are there to help one another and the community.

Posted: March 2, 2019

Staff of DMMS starts prior to school asking how to make the students experience exceptional and offers ways students to expand and grow in different areas.

Excellent. Please feel free to share my experience.

Absolutly horrible. The amount of learning is so bad that the passing rates are horrible.

Posted: May 13, 2018

Some teachers give students homework that they may not understand and then the next day, teachers don't go over the homework.

Posted: May 13, 2018

Fights happen every day. The popular, rich kids judge EVERYONE IN THE SCHOOL.

Posted: May 13, 2018

All the students at this school like to think they are the boss.

Daniel Morgan Middle School and I really thought that this school would be a new start but I was so wrong it is way to much drama for my daughter. Please do not enroll your child to this school.

I'm a student at DMMS.... I don't like it. The 'teacher's pets' always get the most help while I'm just here struggling to know what's even going on. And then when I get a large number of questions wrong on a worksheet, they get mad at ME. I have huge bullying problems at school- But whenever I tell someone, they just 'talk' to us for about 30 seconds and pretend everything's alright. The school has some serious work to do with its way of handling things and helping kids who need help. - Upcoming 7th Grader At DMMS

Daniel Morgan is an awesome school. The teachers and students are great. They treat students very well. They have many after school activities. The principle is new now but very nice. It has a new building.

I 'm dissatisfied with the attitude of the teachers in this school especially to immigrants, and especially to children who are smarter than them and they come from another country!!! Already in the first day a teacher asked my daughter (7th grade) is she attended a school at all so far ?!? My family are immigrants from soon, but that does not make us stupid or second hand people!!! Sorry for my not so good english!

I am extremely unhappy with how this school has turned out. My girls used to love going to school, and now they work themselves up so much they vomit. The dread of having teachers who will not help them comprehend their work, and then get into trouble when the work isn't completed. This school is especially horrible for those with learning disabilities, as my girls have found out. I would never recommen this school to anyone, as I am now leaning towards a lawyer to just get help for my kids.
