This is a review of the past 12 years that my kids have attended this school. A lot of issues with the teachers over the years and turn over. Almost pulled my kids 2 years ago.

We loved our time at Bethel Manor. We moved to the area mid-school year and it was evident early on how special this school would become to our family. At the time, our oldest was in first grade, our middle received walk-in speech therapy, and our youngest was just tagging along. Within a week of our move, the entire office knew our family member’s names and greeted us like we were old friends. That meant so much to little kids who were nervous about being in a new setting. It meant so much to my husband and me, too. Over the three and a half years our children were enrolled in this school, two of our children received speech therapy, one received help through Title I with a team of lovely reading specialists, and they all enjoyed the best teachers we could have found. My only complaint is during Covid, our oldest missed out on so much time with her magical second grade teacher and our middle missed out on time with her precious kindergarten teacher. Their teachers knocked themselves out trying to stay connected and helping families cope with suddenly homeschooling. Once the school was able to accommodate in-person learning again, the teachers didn’t miss a beat and made learning as close to “normal” as possible. To say the teachers there go above and beyond is a gross understatement. I don’t know how they do it and it broke my heart knowing they all have families but so many of their cars were still in the parking lot hours after dismissal. These teachers are the best of the best. Every last day of school was filled with tears over no longer seeing that year’s particular teacher. No last day of school will ever be as emotional as our very last day of school at Bethel Manor. To say goodbye for good to a school that’s worth its weight in gold—that offered so many unique learning experiences, so much compassion, respect, need-specific help, and opportunities to continue to blossom—was beyond difficult. Friends who’d already moved warned me that no school holds a candle to Bethel Manor but I’d known that within our first month of being a Bethel Manor family. This school is the best and will be a tough act to follow. Enjoy it while you can.

So far, out of 4 other schools we’ve been in this one is the best!! From the first time we called to find out how to sign our kids in throughout the years, very rewarding & big jumps in learning for our kids.

From Preschool thru 4th, teachers really teach students & communicate with parents . They go beyond what other schools do....

Love the Principal, Dr Reitz and his new Assistant Principal Mrs. Wagner. I have a child with special needs & Mrs. Wagner has improved the process by leaps & bounds.

I let the secretary know of a bullying situation I witnessed in the cafeteria while eating lunch with my son. The Principal called me back that day so he could address it. The secretaries & the principals really seem to work as a team.

The Staff, Administrators, and Guidance Counselor make sure that the students work hard and have good characteristics and personality traits needed for future endeavors.

Their Staff and Administrators work harder then any other school that I have been too in all 3 countries I have been stationed.

Their programs for children who are challenged or need more assistance is literally the best. They work harder for their children then the clinics and all other schools I have been too.

The best. I could go on and on but it would take me literal hours to write everything they can do. Whatever they can't do they figure out how to do. They are the best. The work harder than anyone else. The best. The only school I'd ever want my children to enroll in. If only all schools could be like Bethel Manor Elementary School.

They work with all children and their needs to make sure their not overloaded.

They work their kids and parents more than any other Teachers at any school I have ever been too.

Overall it's a great school, unfortunately they really are difficult when it comes to kids who are different and don't follow the spectrum as others do. I have two children currently in this school and they are both ADHD. One is in 3rd grade and one is in kindergarten, my kindergartener also has O.D.D. luckily my kindergartener has had two great teachers as he was held back for not reading and writing the 1st time around. The teachers at first did not listen to me when I explained how he needs to have things done and was told "I'll find my own way". The Principal thinks he's supposed to be a parent to my kids as he keeps overruling my explicit directions for my sons to walk home together which has made it a pain. He says it's for "safety reasons" as if I can't do what needs to be done for my childrens safety. The crossing guards for the 2nd crosswalk are often missing. The parking lot is tiny and if it rains not everyone can park and walk to the door to get their child (ren). The staff blocks the exit and forces you to go out the entrance which can fit in and out traffic but some people block that when going out the in. Other parents fail to pay attention and almost hit kids because they are on their cell phones while driving. You have to sign in a computer to be able to walk around the school even at the opening hours which sucks because there is usually a line of parents. ..too bad they don't have something faster, it's great for saftey but still.

I love this school! My daughter was in 3 different schools from pre-k to 1st grade. This is the best one so far! Everyone says that York Co. schools are the best in the area and Bethel Manor, (IMO), is the best of the best. The teachers communicate with the parents and the principal is wonderful this year! He has children and is very understanding. The PTA does a wonderful job with activities and the carnival in the spring is great a community builder. The walkability is fantastic and I love that everyone at the school is military, its great for our children to know that their friends have the same things going on at home too. I will be very sad to leave this school next year. If you are undecided about living on base, this school should point you in the right direction!

This school is great! I love the way the teachers and principals interact with the parents. My daughter's teacher Mrs. Libby is absolutely AWESOME! She makes sure to keep her parents in the loop about everything going on in class and with our children. We need more teachers like her and more schools like Bethel Manor Elementary!!

amazing school...teachers who really care and do what has to be done to help a student understand the material. As a former parent (kids now grown) and substitute teacher, I've seen/experienced a variety of teaching situations. The school is a close knit community of parents, students and teachers. Parent volunteers are encouraged/welcome with open arms.

I love this school! There are so many ways to be involved. And the communication my son's teacher gives goes above and behind all the hard work she already has to do. I'm very thankful my son goes to this school.

I have had two children attend three or more years each at this school. For my oldest child it was generally a good experience. The education was adequate, although not outstanding. For my second child who is special needs it was a very poor experience. As soon as we came to the district the school refused accommodations recommended by physicians. There were several times it was strongly implied that my child's difficulties were the result of my parenting skills, despite having both physical and mental diagnosis for disability. Federal laws about IEP meetings were treated like guidelines. When my child transferred to the middle school (where we had a better experience) several parts of the IEP were missing, including a behavior plan, previous testing, and a request for additional testing. When connecting with other EFMP families in the district we found this was a common experience.

I love this school. My son is now in fist grade and loves going to school. I had a concern with my sons reading level I e-mailed the teacher and she tested him again tht same day and talked to me about it when I went to pick him up. I have had nothing but great experience with this school.

I have 2 kids in this school and they both need extra help and attention. They get the help they need at this school. The staff and teachers are very nice and helpful. One of the best school in York County.
