Both of our kids have gone to trinity for upwards of 8 years, throughout this time they have gracefully navigated challenges (COVID!) and consistently provided a supportive environment for both of our kids, a true home away from home!
From my youngest - they specifically mentioned they appreciated the "challenging but supportive" academic environment, inclusive atmosphere and that they have not experienced bullying.
My eldest - likes the smaller class sizes, individualized attention and quiet atmosphere.
Both have good relationships with most of their teachers and, if they are struggling feel they have a good support structure to help.
Ms. Wildemann will be taking over as head of school this upcoming year, we have been very happy with her as a teacher for both of our kiddos and are excited to continue at Trinity under her guidance.

Trinity is an awesome school! Both of my sons have attended Trinity since pre-K and have done extremely well academically and socially. The teachers at Trinity are obviously there because they care and they love what they do. The environment there is nurturing and supportive. I absolutely love this school!

Constant concerns with the teacher to include her being a no call no show for the single parent teacher conference provided the entire year, and then refused to reschedule. We never spoke to her for the entire second half of school despite our efforts. When I tried to ask for help from the administration, they OFFERED to let my son out of the school and told me they were offended that I was upset.

Our teacher communicates every week via email (and pictures!) to keep us informed of the progress made in the classroom, and has always been available for conversation or clarification on any questions we have had.

Chapel services and focus on character development are a big part of our son's education at Trinity

The administration holds a "state of the school" in January to keep parents informed of programs and upcoming events, and to see if there are any issues to resolve. among families. I feel like this attention to the satisfaction of every family is part of the unique character of Trinity.

We have been at Trinity almost a year now and love this school! Our son is truly known by everyone in the building and is thriving in school. Programs like "Fall into Fun" and" Lessons and Carols" feel like how elementary school was "back in the day", but the respectful classroom environment and results in student progress are far beyond what we have seen in other schools in our experience as a military family. We have had our kids in several different schools, and are happy to have found Trinity.

We love TLS! We have been here for 8 years now and our oldest is starting upper school this year. We’ve seen many ups, downs, and changes for the good over the years. Our kids are academically ahead of their grade equivalents in public school, are socially well-adjusted, and spiritually nourished by all that being a part of the TLS family has offered us over the years.

The elementary teachers have a great philosophy about minimizing homework so that it reinforces what they’ve learned that day but should be completed in 15 min or so in order to allow for play, activities, and family time in the evenings. All of my child’s lower school teachers told us if it was taking longer to stop and let them know so they could work on it more the next day.

They no longer use the IB curriculum but have always possessed the principles.

The HOS, Mr Goetz, is energetic, innovative, collaborative, and knows when to delegate to others with strengths in areas he may not have.

Our child has been accelerated in areas we didn’t even know she had gifts in! The completely tailor her education to her needs.

They’ve recently appointed a staff to be head of discipline and so far this has been very effective. It’s nice to have a consistent “go-to” voice to bring issues to and to know conflict resolution and accountability will be followed through.

After visiting over 11 schools in the area we choose Trinity because the teachers and staff are amazing. They really care about each and every student and it has been a privilege to be part of the school.

Trinity Lutheran School is a great place for students. The teachers are very qualified as many hold advanced degrees. The curriculum is harder than most schools but prepares the students greatly for the future. The current head of school is exceptional in every way. We are glad we made the decision for Trinity.

This is our first year at TLS and we LOVE it! The students are kind and considerate. The academics are challenging and the teachers are nurturing and caring. While I wish PE and physical activity were emphasized more I understand this is a general problem with education today (not a TLS specific issue). The school emphasizes character and educating the whole child, not just academics.

This is for elementary and middle school My children have been there for a few years now and I have not been thrilled with the behavior of some of the teachers. There were some great ones that were fired and there are a few still there that are adversarial with the children. I think there are some good aspects to the school, but lately, I have thought about relocating my children to another school. I am concerned about the learning atmosphere and the upper echelon's placating behaviors. If you can't find another school, this one will do, but beware of the smiling to your face and what is agreed upon during meetings mean nothing as they do not always keep their word.

TLS has major problems right now with the Head of School. She refuses to work with parents or the School Board. The accreditation that the school now possesses is in name only. It in no way reflects the poor state of the academia or morale of the school. The Head of School tells parents one thing and then does another. She also tries to placate the school board as well. She is the main problem at the present that keeps the school from being the good school that it used to be. Most of the great teacher have either left or been let go. It is truly a sad situation since TLS once was great private school option on the Peninsula. Until a change is made at the top, TLS will continue to spiral downward. Until that happens, there are plenty of alternatives on the Peninsula for quality private school education. If you truly care about your child's education, you will keep them out of TLS at this time.

I cannot speak highly enough of this school! We moved our son from a local Catholic school where he was just miserable - only in Kindergarten, he already HATED school. From just Sept. through Dec., we watched as he went from a funny, happy, lively little boy to a child who had stopped making eye contact with adults, refused to talk to us about school and would slowly drag his backpack up the school steps and in the door each day with his head hanging down. We moved him to Trinity after Christmas and hoped we could work with his teachers and the TLS staff to get our little guy back. After TEN DAYS at Trinity he came home READING and jabbering about everyone he met, all the fun stuff they were doing and how much he LOVED his teachers. A year later, it just keeps getting better. We LOVE his 1st grade teachers (yes I said teacherS, plural - two teachers for 11 students!) They are super nurturing while still expecting the best from him academically. Now, when he gets out of the car in the a.m. he RUNS in to the building. When I pick him up from school he is all excited about his day and asks regularly if he can stay for aftercare, Mad Science or Lego Club. TLS gave us our son back <3

Trinity Lutheran used to be one of the best private schools in the area, leader of the PIAL Athletics league AND I was proud to say I graduated from there. Now with new leadership and teachers, Trinity has developed a reputation for hidden fees, unhappy students who can't wait to leave, and a habit for replacing their best teachers with the children of current staff members and cancelling amazing programs and traditions. Although many of Trinity's teachers and staff are exceptional and highly qualified, especially in their kindergarten, second grade, and preschool as well as Sandra Butler, former head of the middle school, Trinity like any school has its problems but remains one of the best elementary schools in the area. How prepared are the 8th graders for high school after so many changes? Not as well as they could be. How prepared are the 5th graders for other middle schools? Very prepared.
