Fresta Valley Christian School is one of the best things thats happened to our family. We love the family like atmosphere and the amount of support and love given to our kids there. I feel safe sending them to school and feel that they are learning SO much. Weve been a part of this school for 6 years & we have zero regrets! We love Fresta!

I just graduated from this school and I want to be honest. Overall, the school was pretty nice, with serious teaching about the Gospel and other subjects.
However, the school had some issues with racism and favoritism, which made the environment uncomfortable at times. Favoritism was obvious, and certain students were treated better than others. There were also moments where racism, especially among students, was present and not addressed properly. For a Christian school, that was really disappointing.

As someone who used to love math, my biggest complaint is about the math teachers. They were lazy when it came to explaining things. If I didnt understand something, they wouldnt take the time to help. Instead, they would give a quiz or test the next day, expecting us to figure everything out on our own. It felt like they didnt care about whether we actually learned.

This school really needs a better math teacher - someone whos patient, clear, and passionate about teaching. A good teacher can make a huge difference, and that was something missing here.

The school has potential, and I did enjoy parts of my time there. But it needs serious improvements in staffing, fairness, and how student issues are handled.

We are so thankful to have found Fresta Valley. Our son has attended for three years now and there is nowhere he would rather be. The staff is excellent and the attention our son receives is personal and positive. If we ever have an issue, our sons teachers or the administrators are available to us directly and ready to help. Everyone knows us by name and reaching out and making friends with other parents has been easy. The atmosphere there is very family like and supportive. We were looking for a quality education for our son with a firm grounding in Gods word to carry him through life. God led us here and we are very grateful. The world needs more Fresta Valleys.

I had high hopes for Fresta Valley Christian school, but unfortunately, it is again one of the schools where they just simply cannot practice what they preach. Unless you are a certain personality type like at most private schools, your child will be shunned, made fun of, spread rumors about and treated unfairly by the staff. There have been several instances that I have experienced first and secondhand of discrimination against learning disabilities such as ADHD, autism, and lots of other parts of the learning spectrum. I had my hope that it would only just be a few instances, but on top of these things my child had also come to me about physical assault that had happened in the school and nothing serious was done about it. Though I am sure that this school does have some good, godly, devoted teachers most of their staff practice favoritism, bring politics into the classroom too much, and are biased and not open to opinion. Though I understand that religious curriculum has its borders- teachers should still be able to explain both sides of the point to broaden a childs view of knowledge.. additionally mental health is not dealt with properly at this school. There are not appropriate counselors for children going through mental health issues, though I 100% believe that God will help us with our problems, mental health is also a real issue that needs to be dealt with through a counselor or a psychiatrist recommendation and is not to be taken lightly. I hope the school can find a way to teach their staff and students to be kind and openhearted to everyone, not just the relatives of faculty or the ones that they like the best. A student should not have to change their personality to feel welcomed and loved in a school, especially a private Christian institution. I pray for the staff and for the students and hope that they can open their minds and realize that their words and actions affect others more than they think it does.

The beginning of this school year 2024-2025 the principal gave the senior boys all of the expired sodas they had in the vending machines and they stashed them in the lockers and sold them to the younger kids

For the past 4 years Fresta has become part of our family. We are so thankful to all the staff at Fresta (from admin, teachers, coaches & everyone in between). They have been such a blessing to our family. We are grateful for all the prayers, extra hours in helping our kids with difficulties whether in their studies or just every day situations. It is so refreshing to have a safe place with staff that have the best intensions for not just our kids but the student body as a whole. It's not just an excellent educational school but it's also one where we have seen our kids grow and mature into wonderful young adults. I 100% recommend Fresta to families that are looking for a school that will not only meet their academic goals but will also strengthen their faith in a healthy, balanced, safe & Christ centered way. We are truly blessed to have found Fresta Valley Christian School.

Absolutely love everything about Fresta Valley. The small family-like community, the education my daughters receive, and most importantly the Christian faith & teaching. We have found a home at Fresta and we do not intend of changing that!

I have children of all ages, and this school fits the needs of them all! The teachers and staff are caring, helpful, and overall great examples to my children. I feel we have built a community here that is protected in many ways from the progressive, political influences of the surrounding world. I feel my children are not only safe but encouraged to do right and cared for by loving staff members.

Academically, my children are thriving and I know they are receiving an excellent education. More importantly, they are learning Biblical truths and a Christ-centered worldview. The teachers are educated and are willing to work with students when necessary. Fresta doesn't offer an in-depth special needs program. However, they work with students and parents to find the best way forward for those students who need a little extra care and support.

Since Fresta is a smaller school with around 220 students, there have temporarily been times when my kids lacked that connection with others. This is not normally the case but off and on it has been difficult. Students are inclusive and friendly. As a whole, most students get involved in extra curricular activities such as sports, drama, speech and debate, robotics, etc.

The one shortfall, is that Fresta doesn't have a Carrier and Technical Education program. I hope this is something that Fresta can improve on in the near future. However, if we had to choose between a CTE program and a solid Christian foundation with great relationships, we would most definitely choose the latter.

Fresta is not backed by donors. They have a small school board made up of family, prior students, parents, and staff members.

If you're looking for a family atmosphere, a safe environment, solid academics, Christian based education, extra-curriculars, and a welcoming environment - Fresta is the place for you!

This is our first year at Fresta Valley Christian School and we could not be happier that we chose to send our girls here. We love that the values we are instilling at home are being instilled in the children at school. The staff is so kind and caring. Students are greeted with a warm smile, encouraging teachers and a safe environment. It's not just a school body, but a school family. Academically, they are beyond what public school is doing from my conversations with other families. We highly recommend Fresta Valley to those in the community.

I had high hopes when enrolling my children at Fresta Valley. They promised a nurturing environment and strong academic values. However, my experience has been disappointing, primarily due to favoritism towards the children of faculty and administration, as well as a concerning lack of qualified teachers.

From the outset, it became evident that certain students received preferential treatment. Events like parent-teacher meetings and school activities often felt skewed in favor of staff's children, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere for those of us without that connection. This favoritism not only undermines the sense of community but also impacts students' self-esteem and academic motivation when they see peers receiving undue recognition and support.

Moreover, Ive been troubled by the quality of instruction. While I appreciate the school's commitment to a Christian foundation, many teachers seem to lack the necessary qualifications and experience to provide a robust education. I've observed classes where lesson plans were poorly structured and where teachers struggled to engage students meaningfully. This lack of expertise translates into a subpar learning experience that is not commensurate with the tuition fees.

As a parent, I believe that every child deserves an equal opportunity to thrive in a supportive and competent educational environment. Unfortunately, Fresta Valley falls short of these expectations. I hope the administration takes these concerns seriously and implements changes that prioritize equity and quality in education for all students. Until then, I cannot recommend this school to other families seeking a fair and enriching experience for their children. Research other schools that do not have so many "family ties" in the administration and board members.

I went to this school for middle school grades. I could write a novel of the good and bad but basically, the orchestra program was top notch but now they have a different teacher for that so I'm not sure anymore. The female sports teams were horrible but the male teams were winners. I carry alot of "church hurt" and mostly because of this school. They preach equality and forgiveness yet dont practice it. I was in trouble and was told to confess and my sins would be forgiven, so I did and I was kicked out of school. I asked about forgiveness and they told me that was between me and God. Then they called every parent of my friends there and told them what a horrible child I was and never let anyone talk to me again. And it worked.
Food for thought but most of my classmate were miserable going to this school. Most have back out of their faiths as well. Most credit this school for their fall from religion so please weigh your options closely. I would NEVER send my children here.

There is a reasonable amount of homework assigned at Fresta Valley Christian School. I recently heard some public schools are not assigning homework. While I value our time together at home, I believe a reasonable amount of homework is helpful in student development.

The Teachers work to meet the needs of the students while maintaining expectations. The Teachers genuinely care about their students. Educating students may have its challenges, but the spirt of Fresta Valley Christian School Teachers is best explained with Philippians 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

I have 2 kids in this school and the experience is incredible. The entire school is like a big family once you get involved. My family has been welcomed very warmly into the Fresta Valley society. Would and have definitely recommend this school to all who are looking for a solid Christian education.

The academics at Fresta are incredible, and many of the students leave the school with above par SAT scores; however, due to a lack of communication between teachers, many of the students have too much homework to complete in one night with drama, speech, and sports practice on top of that. It can be overwhelming for some students, but those who actually strive to do their best will be granted leniency as needed.

The school highly discourages cheating and plagiarism and does allow its students an open line of communication with not only their teachers but also the administration to encourage them to come forward with not only any problems they may be having at school but also any problems they may be having at home.

I was a student at Fresta from second to twelfth grade, and I think it was the best decision my parents ever made. The academics were challenging, and most of the teachers strived to encourage their students to do their best. When I first started, the elementary school was the best in the area, but the high school was underwhelming as it did not offer as many clubs, sports, and honor societies as local public schools. However, by the time I reached the upper grades, everything was above par, and the drama and speech clubs even exceeded the public schools in performance and quality. I am proud to say that I was a student there, and if I am living in the area when I have my own children, I intend to send them there too.

We were at Fresta Valley from Pre- through 1st Grade. Things were wonderful until we hit 1st grade. Teacher was given" the 1st grade class....she did not have a VA teachers lic, never could look me in the eye. When I went to the administration about her NOTHING was done. It's all a farce. There was a bully in the classroom and no one would do anything at all about her. I was so disappointed in the entire situation that I pulled my daughter. There was much more that went on but there isn't enough room here to write everything.

We have been at Fresta for almost years now. My daughter is in kindergarten and my son has started pre-school there. My daughter learned to read in pre-school and can read books aimed at First Graders already! She can do addition and subtraction as well. Both of my children are learning Spanish and know more Spanish words than I do now. The school also teaches the Bible and my children are learning and retaining that knowledge. Morals are also being taught here and the teachers work well with the parents as a team. I feel at home every time I get to visit the school and my children absolutely love going there. I am thankful for the staff there and all the hard work and effort they put in each and every day.

School was horrible, my son hated it . I thought it was amazing at first it went completely downhill. Almost everyone there is completely two-faced and the education isn't any better than public school. I regret ever sending my son there. The school is full of favoritism and thats it!
