This is one of the worst Chesapeake public schools we have attended. Since day, one administration has been the worst. They do not take care of bullying at all. The kids behaviors are out of control. If you’re wanting an elementary school, they’re way better ones in the Chesapeake system.

As a parent, I want to share both the positives and areas of concern about Georgetown Primary.

Pros:
• The school has caring teachers who work hard to support student learning.
• My child has grown academically and socially since being here.
• There are great opportunities for students to get involved and be recognized for their progress.

Cons:
• Communication between the school and parents could be much stronger. Important incidents don’t always get shared in a timely or supportive way.
• Sometimes discipline and safety situations feel brushed off rather than fully addressed, which can be discouraging as a parent who wants the best for their child.
• More consistency is needed in how all students are treated, especially when it comes to behavior issues.

Overall, Georgetown Primary has potential and strengths in its staff and student community, but I hope to see improvements in communication, safety, and parent partnership going forward.

I wasn't very happy with my daughter teacher. she did not put her best foot forward with providing the proper services for my daughter. Georgetown is all about money. my daughter will not be attending this public school again.

Worst school I have ever dealt with. This school condones bullying. Majority of staff is very rude and defensive. Your child is not protected here.

My son just finished his first year at this school and I couldn't be happier with our experience. The teachers are truly amazing and care about these children and their education. I was very skeptical about sending my son here as we had only been to private schools before here. I am happy to say this was his best year of school yet. He was bullied in private schools and he made friends so easily this year and had a wonderful bully free year. I felt more welcomed and appreciated for my help when volunteering at this school. If you are thinking about sending your child here I recommend giving this school a try. You will not be disappointed. My son is looking forward to next school year already.

My son has gone to Georgetown primary for kindergarten and now he is in first grade. Both his teachers Mrs Pope and Mrs. Sykes have been very understanding and helpful for his education. He is excelling in school and is very happy. I go to lunch with him periodically, and all the kids are very respectful and nice. I could not be happier with the school.

Very disorganized and unprofessional. I have found the staff to be rude and not understanding of my child.

Not impressed. So rude and unprofessinal. Ill prepared for meetings and not understanding regarding custody situations.

My daughter is starting kindergarten here this year and I could not be happier. I took her in for her assessment and was able to meet one of the kindergarten teachers who was automatically bonding with my child. That is exactly the kind of thing you want to see when putting them into a new place where you don't have much control of their day. The teacher also noted that there is also an Aid in each classroom so I'm glad to hear that there will be a little more teacher/child ratio. If needed, I will update this review, but I have a feeling this is the perfect school for us as I did PLENTY of research and even bought a house in this area just to get into this school.
