Hello... my great grandson is attending his first year in school and he loves going. I am a Home Daycare Provider and has repaired him for the 1st grade level. Being able to connected with any activities of his school would be a plus for me.

we were just rezoned for this school & my daughter has excelled here more than her last school. Her teacher Mrs. Gamble is a wonderful teacher who really cares about her kids and pushes the ones that need it and encourages & helps those at lower levels. This school has provided extra assistance free of charge which has been a wonderful thing for being in such a low income neighborhood. The principal & assistant principal are really great and supportive. the only complaint i can make is the bus driver gets my daughter and neighborhood kids to school late most mornings. Portsmouth offers free breakfast for all kids so they all start their day on the same level. VA in general pushes the teachers way to hard on the Standards of Learning Tests but that's not this schools fault and they do everything in their power to make sure each kid excels on those tests
