I highly recommend the Pre K program. Our daughter loves her teachers and classmates. There is great communication from teacher to parent, which is great for daily transitions. The stay and play program is also great and our daughter enjoys spending that time with her friends. We visited many schools and programs in the area, Great-bridge United Methodist matched our values, learning and discipline preferences the best.

After our experience back in October 2018, I strongly caution against this "school" if you have a child with any sort of attention issues, such as ADHD or a child who is working through a traumatic loss. They are completely unwilling to work with you and your child and will give up on them in a heartbeat. One teacher in one of the pre-k rooms truly has no business being a "teacher"...when I was a pre-k teacher I would have been fired if I called out of work because I needed to be away from one specific student. And for the center's DIRECTOR to say this to the parents, let alone IN FRONT OF THE CHILD was so unbelievably unprofessional. A child is dealing with an attention issue and was on the wait list for a behavioral therapist, was still dealing with the loss of a baby brother, had never been in a school setting before and was given a total of seven half days over a months time to adjust! The teachers asked for helpful ways to refocus him and then not once bothered to even try the tools provided by the parents. There they sat in his backpack, untouched. He was instantly labeled a problem after his FIRST DAY because he got frustrated writing his name and had a hard time sitting still. His first day in school EVER. He was labeled aggressive after two hitting incidents over a week's time, of course he shouldn't have hit, no one wants to hear another child hit their kid and he was spoken to about it by parents and grandparents, but to throw a kid out after two times? If we had kicked out kids after just two incidents where I worked we wouldn't have had many students. In Pre-K children are LEARNING right from wrong and need guidance from both parents and teachers. Instead of calling the parents in for a meeting to discuss what exactly had been going on, what lead to the hitting, what was done and said by the teachers, ways to correct it and work on it, we are called in and immediately told that our child is kicked out. There was zero communication from anyone. Because he couldn't sit still, liked to hum music and pretend, got frustrated, and hit twice out of aggravation at AGE 4, he was made out to be an uncontrollable monster and all of this was said in front of him. My husband was promised a refund of the registration fee and a pro-rated refund for the remainder of the month. Never received it.

Not at all. Don't even consider it you have a child with signs of ADHD.

We have been beyond pleased with the quality of education our children have received through Great Bridge Preschool and Kindergarten! Starting in the two's class, teachers and administrators work with parents to provide the keys for a strong educational foundation. As students progress through the school, themes and educational styles are revisited to ensure each child's success. Staff also recognizes that kids should still be allowed to be kids and make plenty of time to have fun while learning. We have been highly impressed with their kindergarten program as well; their focus on reading and math prepared them well beyond first grade content at CPS.

I have had two children attend GBPK from ages 3 years through Kinder. The teachers are knowledgable, warm and nurturing. The school places equal emphasis on academic and social development. Both my children left the school more than prepared for the first grade.
