We absolutely love everything about this school. The teachers and staff are so amazing. You can tell they love what they do. Every time I pick my daughter up from school she's so excited to tell me all about the things they did in class. Every Monday I hear the new song that Ms Jane taught them in class. Ms Heather, Ms Misty, and Ms Cara have all had a huge, positive impact on my daugher that I think will help her continue to keep a love of learning. Ms Maryann does a wonderful job of leading the outstanding teachers at the school. I'm so glad I went with Oak Grove instead of any of the other places that we had looked into. I just can't say enough great things about my experience there.

Oak Grove Preschool and Kindergarten has provided my family with the perfect first school experience for my children. I cannot speak highly enough about the school. Every single member of staff at the school is a good mix of caring and professional. My children attended from three years old up to and including kindergarten. Both my children have thrived at the school and it has set the bar high for any future schools they attend. The school has excellent safety procedures in place which I felt to be very important when the children are so little. I was amazed the first day my children started at the school and not only their teachers, but the School Director Maryann, knew every single child's name and which class they were in. The extra programs offered for holidays are outstanding. The Christmas program was my favorite and my children will always remember getting to shop with the Angels. Such a special school, we all felt like part of the family there.

Oak Grove Preschool & Kindergarten has been a second home to us for four years. The staff immediately made us feel at ease and treated our child as if he were their own. You are greeted daily with constant smiles and warm welcomes from all teachers and staff. As our oldest says goodbye this spring, our youngest will start her four year adventure in the fall. The pre-school program is fantastic and packed with social development & in-house field trips and events. The Kindergarten program has exceeded our expectations with both a wonderful curriculum and classroom readiness. We feel our son is very prepared for 1st grade. We would highly recommend trusting this motivated, caring, patient, encouraging staff with your little ones!

“We have been a part of the Oak Grove United Methodist Preschool and Kindergarten family for two wonderful years now. The teachers, aids and director go above and beyond to create a loving, spiritual and safe environment for our daughter. She thrives off of the creative lesson plans and loves the hands on music class. It’s fun to hear what she’s been up to after pick up! We are so impressed with how much she’s grown and how confident she’s become. What an awesome foundation she’ll have for kindergarten and the many years of learning ahead.

We are extremely pleased with Oak Grove preschool and kindergarten, we are so glad one of our friends suggested this school to us! The director, Maryann Schmidt was so helpful and friendly that we signed up our son the same day we toured the school! Everyone is so nice, caring and welcoming. The teachers are great and our son loves them so much! We are so happy about how safe, clean, and how great their educational program is that we going from 2 days to 5 days per week next school year! I would definitely recommend to every parent that is looking for the best child environment in this area!

We could not have asked for a better first year of preschool for our daughter. She has had an amazing experience including the teachers, staff, and special events Oak Grove provides for her. Oak Grove instills a warm and loving community feel. She loves going to chapel, music, and enjoys the in house field trips. Each holiday feels so special with the fabulous programs and events the church hosts for the children and their families. Everyone feels so welcomed and loved. It is a great place to learn and grow!

I have sent both my children to Oak Grove Preschool and Kindergarten since 2012 and I cannot say enough good things about this school. I brought my son over from a Montessori school when he was almost four because I was looking for a more loving/nurturing/playful environment. There is a focus at Oak Grove on social and emotional growth and learning through play, which is exactly what my son needed. The second I walked in and met Maryann it just felt right. The walls are all painted in fun children's themes and the teachers are beyond amazing. Everyone smiles and says hello and I feel that all the teachers love my children. The academics are fantastic. My son is graduating from Kindergarten fully knowing how to read, write, and is very strong in math, not to mention I learn new factoids each day about the ocean or how lightening forms, etc. My daughter, who is not quite five yet, will be starting Kindergarten next year and she is starting to read, knows about 40 sight words and can count to 60. More importantly, she tells me everyday how much she loves her teachers. As we walk through the halls all the children say hi to each other by name. It's a wonderful place to start school and a love of learning.

Maryann is the director and she is a true professional. She knows all the parents by name and if she sees someone she doesn't recognize, she makes sure she introduces herself before they pass. Her first concern is the safety of our children. The doors are always locked after the designated time. Maryann is warm and loving and patient. It took years for my son to start saying "Good Morning Ms. Maryann," yet every morning she greets both of my children with a smile and "Good Morning," calling them both by name.

We are going on to elementary school and I am sad to close this chapter of my life. I will always look back on these preschool years with fond and warm memories filled with lots of laughs and lots and lots of love.

This is my daughters first year in preschool, and admittedly I was so nervous about choosing the right school and taking this step in the parenting journey. From the minute I met Mary Ann and her staff, they have been nothing but absolutely wonderful and reassuring. I feel so blessed to have found this incredible community of parents and caregivers. This is a tightly run ship with emphasis on community and SAFETY! We will absolutely be sending our daughter back for their 4 year old program and are even considering putting our 2 year old in next year simply because she loves going to drop-off and pick-up with her sister! Thank you to all of the staff at Oak Grove for the work that you do.

We LOVE Oak Grove Preschool and Kindergarten! Two of our children have attended preschool there and now the older of the two will be attending Kindergarten next month. Our children absolutely love their teachers, as well as the calm, caring environment. From MaryAnne, the Director to the specialty teachers (music, art, etc), to the classroom teachers, everyone is absolutely top notch.

My son is currently enrolled in the Kindergarten class at Oak Grove Preschool and Kindergarten. We feel so blessed that this was available for us to sign up to after his graduation from Oak Grove Preschool. We did not want to give this school up!The class size is only 12-14, which is about half of what public kindergarten classrooms are currently at. He is receiving one on one time with his teacher several times during the week and I know that this would not be the case in public school. The classroom is focused, loving, challenging, and is teaching my son how to make good choices on his own, do things independently, treat others with respect, and to have fun!! . He is excited to go to school and I know he is receiving a top notch education that doesn't exclude the love and knowledge of God (reading groups, computer time, music class, chapel, math, science, social studies, writing, etc). I am always receiving pictures from the classroom on things the children are doing, papers and notes keeping parents informed, and I love that the parents are welcomed to come volunteer in and out of the classroom

We were new to the area and toured several private preschools that would provide a loving and positive experience for our son. From the moment we entered the school we had a positive experience from the bright classrooms to the friendly and welcoming staff. Our son developed socially and intellectually throughout the first year and overcame many of his anxieties. This was in no small part to the caring and nurturing nature of all the staff at the school. We cannot remember one day that we picked our son up from school that he did not have a HUGE smile on his face and not want to talk about what he did in school that day. The school also does several family based functions throughout the year to increase parental involvement and create a strong educational community.

Oak Grove Preschool is a ministry of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, offering classes for 2-year-olds through Kindergarten. As the Director, I am so thrilled with our socially-based program as we provide a challenging, age-appropriate environment. We offer opportunities which enable children to mature spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically and academically. Oak Grove Preschool has been blessed with tremendous growth over the past four year...we are so excited to offer a private Kindergarten experience for children whose parents are looking for a small class with individual attention. All classes have two teachers in the classroom giving us teacher/student ratios from 1/5 in the two year olds to 1/8 in Kindergarten. In addition to the Preschool and Kindergarten classes, we offer a daily "lunch bunch" which extends the child's day until 1:00. Parents may use this service as needed for a small fee. Our philisophy goes beyond the children as we cherish the involvement of the entire family. There is an active Preschool Partners group which offers an abundance of opportunities for families to feel part of the Oak Grove Preschool community. Tours are welcome!
