One of the biggest issues at this school is the racism and homophobia that many students experience. A number of privileged white students openly engage in discriminatory behavior, and too often it feels like teachers and staff members do not address these situations appropriately. While this does not apply to all staff, there is a noticeable lack of accountability in many cases.

Recently, a student was recorded and mocked simply for kissing his boyfriend. The students involved faced little to no consequences for their actions. Incidents like this send the message that such behavior is tolerated.

Racism is also a serious problem. Some students, particularly those associated with the “cowboy” culture at the school, act as though they own the place because they are white and straight. Unfortunately, some teachers appear to ignore this behavior rather than challenge it.

It is important to acknowledge that not all teachers are like this. Many staff members genuinely support their students and work to create a welcoming environment. In particular, the English Department has often stood up for students and advocated for inclusivity. However, the school as a whole still has significant work to do in addressing racism, homophobia, and discrimination.

I would rate my experience at Clarke as a 10/10 I loved high school there and it really prepared my me and my peers for college or to enter the work force.

The teachers at Clarke are fantastic, they truly get to know their students and have a real interest in their success. I loved all my teachers there and they contributed to a big part of who i am today

Its mainly white and hard for students of other races to feel like they belong. Racism is a real problem in this school.

I left Clarke County and moved to Leesburg, Virginia aka Loudoun County. My kids have been in High School here for 9 weeks. I am moving back to Clarke County. If you think the wealthiest county, Loudoun in the country is a great school system, you are crazy. Clarke County is the best. I love it there. The kids love it there. Why did I leave. Oh yeah. Because I thought the schools would be better. The kids in LoCo are brats. The kids in Clarke are real. Normal. Look you in the eye and say Hello with a smile. The kids in LoCo are socially inept. I moving back.

I don't know what to tell you, other than this school is hands down god awful.

Having had my son attend the school, and a son currently attending I can honestly say I truly regret having any of them be a part of it. There are parts that are good, but the main faults of it lie in the horrible administration, and very poor teachers. While there are a few teachers who are absolutely amazing and a true help and care about their job, they are far outnumbered by teachers with a lack of caring are power hungry and borderline abusive. As far as the administration goes those who run the school spend there time giving out ridiculous punishments for minor offenses by students and never bother to even see if anything is true. Nothing is ever done about bullying in the school and I have personally had one of my sons bullied very harshly. I had to pull him out for a year it was so bad because he would become depressed at the mere thought of going to the school, and I don't blame him. All in all, sending my children to CCHS is a decision i regret and feel bad as a parent for having my children go here.

My son went from an average student in Winchester schools to a straight A student at Clarke County. The teachers really pay attention to the kids and go the extra mile after hours if they are needed.
