This school was pretty good academic wise but the DRAMA and fights in this building were crazy as heck. the girls vaped so much I was holding my breath in the next stall and the guys were acting like wannabe gangsters when we literally live in the SUBURBS... one time one of them poured chocolate syrup all over the floor and poured water on it and flooded the floor with gross syrup water before when we went to a school event (outside) and when we came back it STUNK. and these people at school cannot go a FULL YEAR with at least like 5 fights. first week back from winter break, and there's a 4 day streak of fights and many MANY more planned and yet the seventh graders have the AUDACITY to glaze the 8th graders like "oh my gosh they're so cool" like no?... fr made me ashamed of my grade dude. Anyways, many of the teachers were good but one teacher told someone that they were going to fail college and low-key, RUDE. the school lunches are fine but the bags they gave out at the end of the week were not that good since when I drunk the milk (that was given out in the bags) was SPOILED. and any new sevie (7th grader) who's reading this right now, pray you don't get a new teacher and please lock in because if you're friends with the popular people THAT INFORMATION WILL SPREAD. be careful who you talk to, and please avoid drama because middle school is MESSY as heck. and also to anyone who's a student there they need to know their place. we're not better, we're not tough, we're literal CHILDREN. Glad I graduated because I hated dealing with this on a daily basis.

this school is great yes there are fights and there are times where it takes a bit to put a stop to it but other then that its ok I mean the whole learning aspect of it is well I think teachers value there time with there students and are respectful to other people's opinions they make sure to involve the parents as well with updates and warnings of future test.
they also help with time management they keep it real and help you see your future in a good light making sure you see all the doors that are open for you and your kid. I don't know much about the special education but I'm sure its just as good as. teacher make sure to hear everyone out and talk through stuff with you.
one of the down side I believe is how teachers handle the fights I think they don't do the best job with putting a stop to it as in the after math of it is to nice and I don't think the kids learn there lesson but all in all its a good school with good people

To be honest, I like this school, most of the teachers are nice, but there is one thing, the students are always getting into physical fights, like in the hallway, sometimes the students almost fall into me, but everyone in this school is really nice, I just don't like the fights, but if you don't get into the fights, I think you are good for this school!

This school is terrible do NOT send your kids to this hell hole. it will destroy them from how rude the students are and how disrespectful the teachers are. if youÂ’d like a good future for your children Stone is not the place. safety is not good at all, there are many fights that happen here and teachers donÂ’t do anything about it. the principal talks and talks about how great this school is, she only wants your money and not to mention she favorites all the boys and bad kids. the kids are very disrespectful and rude and the office does nothing about their behavior, the principals talks behind childrens back and I would not recommend this school. please do not send your innocent kids here.

Terrible school, teachers are misogynistic and will not bat an eye at what the male students wear but as soon as a female student has a logo on her shirt sheÂ’s getting dress coded. They pretend to care about what goes on at the school but in reality they just want to look like a good school to others.

have had great experiences with the teachers, a few I was not super happy with but they were not bad.
Posted: August 4, 2019
from what I have experienced being respectful of teachers, staff, and others is strongly promoted here. the staff teachers students and parents with respect as well no matter what the situation.

Dr Mitchell and all the principals at Stone are AMAZING and very involved with the students and parents.
Posted: August 4, 2019
great special education program, I have witnessed the class eating lunch and the aides are very calm and nurturing with the students. what I would want if my child was in the class.

can't really review this as I have not had to deal with this but from my experience in general I am sure it's taken seriously.

I was most concerned about middle school when my oldest left elementary simply bc that age and that time of their life is so important for children. my mind was put at ease within the first week! I have 3 children and my youngest will be staring Stone this year and I am very excited about it. PTA is very active and parent involvement is welcome which I love in middle school when your children don't always communicate with you! Dr Mitchell is the best principal a parent could ask for and the after school program is amazing and kids love going!

minimal hw but time worthy hw. hw is used to review what was already taught by teacher which is the point of hw, not to teach a lesson

Again, all talk and no action. They don't care about anything but looking good on paper.
Posted: December 7, 2016
They could care less if children with special needs learn at this school. They are not challenged, encouraged, or appreciated.
Posted: December 7, 2016
All talk, no action! Promises for action are made and never followed up on.
Posted: December 7, 2016
The school has no interest in inclusion of special education students and hides them away in a far corner of the school. The school is missing so many opportunities to teach the general education students about differences.
Posted: December 7, 2016
They are completely lacking in creativity or initiative. Such a disappointment!
Posted: December 7, 2016
This school has been a huge disappointment. As a parent of both a general education and special education student at Stone, I had experience with a large variety of teachers and administrators. The special education department is inept, lacking in skill and creativity and overall a huge disappointment. The administration talks the talk, but does nothing to back up what they say, whether it's about inclusion, poor teachers, traffic issues related to drop off, etc. It is so frustrating to have your kids attend a school where you feel like they're a burden. No one at this school is creative, inventive, or interesting. We made a huge mistake in sending our kids to this school!

Stone has been great middle school and has helped my kids transition from elementary school and get them ready for high school. I have nothing but good things to say. The school and county have so much to offer.

Our daughter really enjoyed attending this school and we were pleased with the education she received there. No major issues during her time there and the one issue we had with a teacher was quickly addressed by their supervisor.

All four of my daughters have attended this school so I have experience with most of the teachers and the administration. I have found them to be caring, professional and truly exceptional. I have always been pleased with the teachers and staff and my daughters still stay in touch with their favorites. It was a wonderful experience for my children and they were well prepared for the high school. Communication was frequent and we always felt that our children's best interest were a priority. We are delighted with the education they received.

This school is exceptional. I cannot think of one solid complaint and until this year (7th), my son has been in private school. We have found the personnel to be more professional, more compassionate and more knowledgeable than any of the private schools he attended. Ms Mitchell, the new Principal, is kind and cares very much about the students and the success of the school. My only wish is that my son could stay there until he graduates! Kudos to Stone!!

Stone Middle School is an excellent school. Communication with parents by admin and the teachers exceeds my expectations. I especially appreciate periodic grade reports sent by teachers keeping me abreast of missing assignments and overall academic performance. The principal frequently emails parents regarding upcoming activities, tests, etc. The curriculum is challenging and prepares students for high school. Teachers are willing to stay after school to help students when needed. Discipline mimics that of a private school with little to no student discipline issues. I don't know why any one living in this school district would want to pay for private education. Great choice! Great school!

If your child has special needs, look elsewhere. Stone staff is not prepared to educate children with special needs even when they have well-developed IEP's. After 4 awful months of dealing with the school's incompetence and unresponsiveness, I am transferring my child.

Great school. I exchanged from a terrible private school, and this school is excellent! Great teachers. :)
