Our experience with the school was wonderful. Having two children (with two very different personalities and needs) go through the school, we could not have been happier with our choice. The small size lends itself to personalized attention, which was very important to us. Our children excelled and were well-prepped for elementary school.

The teachers are compassionate, professional, and effective educators. They strike a great balance between academics and play, which is so important for social development.

All the Kindergartners do is pages of work and then have a sheet of homework as well. No reason to have it at this age.

Lauren Petersen, Kindergarten teacher isn’t educated about cultural appropriation vs appreciation. Encouraged the impressionable students to make and wear Native headdresses for Thanksgiving which is considered by many Indigenous as a Day of Mourning.

I pulled my daughter out after several issues but the most important and last straw was dressing up the children in Native inspired headdresses for their Thanksgiving Feast. It’s important to learn our history as Americans but equally important is for our educators to actually be educated on what cultural appropriation vs appreciation is. They could have had the children dress as Pilgrims instead.
Nancy, the office administrator, doubled down on white people’s right to wear another culture’s customs as a costume.
She was not open to learning or letting go antiquated ideas. Anyone who isn’t continually learning or open to being educated doesn’t deserve to work with and influence children.

Great school with experienced and friendly teachers. This will be the 2nd year my daughter will be attending Great Neck Pre and I feel very comfortable and secure sending my child here. Very happy parent.

I am very dissapointed in this school, not to mention that not one teacher there is certified to teach. They just pick anyone to teach where they get there teaching experience is beyond me. If I had to do it all over again I would of chosen another school. Many good preschools, unfortunately this is not one of them. If you want a parent to teach your kids, you might as well teach them yourselves at home.
