As a member of the Class of 2023, I feel compelled to speak honestly about what this school represents behind the scenes. I attended since sixth grade, back when it operated out of a local church, and I witnessed firsthand how its values shifted after moving into a new building. The morals and principles CCA claimed to stand for slowly unraveled.
The administration failed to model the standards it publicly promoted. Serious misconduct at the leadership level was covered up with dishonesty, and accountability was replaced by damage control. By the time I reached high school, the academic decline was undeniable. Qualified teachers were scarce, advanced courses like calculus were poorly supported, and students were quietly encouraged to drop challenging classes rather than be helped to succeed. Official performance and success rates were not transparently shared.
As a Catholic student, I requested to include a Catholic Bible verse in my senior quote. I was told to either change it to a real verse or not include one at all. Instead, a random verse was selected on my behalf, clearly without any interest in its meaning or faith context.
College counseling was equally discouraging. Students were pushed toward gap years, dual enrollment was not offered, and community college was repeatedly dismissed as a waste of time. I was told Liberty University was a reach school for me, only for the same counselors to later request interviews and credit after I was accepted to the University of Virginia as a transfer.
My experience reflects a pattern of hypocrisy, lowered expectations, and misplaced priorities that students and families deserve to know about.

This school's offerings continue to grow and serve the surrounding communities. We now offer an elementary program on M/W and one on T/Th as well as educational therapy through the National Institute of Learning Development. Our drop-off homeschool enrichment program on Friday serves 45 students in grades K-5th. All students in grades K-12 benefit from a rich diversity of extracurricular and athletic options. Most importantly, the curriculum is grounded in a biblical worldview and taught by experienced, credentialed, caring teachers. Most teachers also have their own children enrolled at the school. Alumni return from college to share how prepared they were for their higher education experiences.

The workload is fantastic! I do not feel like anything we do at home is busywork, but only essential for learning/mastering the subjects.

We have been here for going on 4 years and between our 2 children have experienced elementary, middle and high school. We LOVE our teachers and they love our students.

So thankful for this school! Its such an answer to prayer for our family. All of my children are thriving here. I cant thank God enough for bringing us into this loving community of excellent teachers. The lower school teachers overflow with love for the students and it extends beyond their minds to their heartsthey really KNOW and LOVE my children more than Ive experienced in any other setting. The secondary teachers have ignited my kids excitement for learning even more by sharing their passion for their subject areatheres more fun, hands-on learning in middle school than I expected. Beautiful facility, warm staff, I just cant say enough good things. You just have to experience it.

A good school but important to note: most classrooms have zero windows, just cinderblock. Carline kiss & ride only... no going in to drop off or pickup. Beautiful kitchen that the students (at least the elementary ones) dont use. Lunch is eaten at their desks in their classroom.

Bullying is not tolerated at school. Involved students are encouraged to seek out a teacher or administrator to discuss concerns. Instead, I have seen the students show exceptional kindness in classes. The middle school is particularly quick to assist each other.

This school is dedicated to developing the character of each and every student. Through weekly Chapels, homeroom classes, and daily Bible classes, Christian values are discussed and modeled. "Rock Star" Awards are handed out daily to students showing excellent character in their daily tasks.

The homework load in our alternate model of education is completely manageable. All assignments are completed on Tuesdays and Thursdays under parent guidance. This model allows for teacher led instruction and parent led one-on-one guidance. Homework and in class assignments use a variety of methods, including individual work, group work, team experiments, and partner work. Several homework free weekends and holidays give students breaks. Students often learn through hands on projects.

The administration, if told, handles bullying or behavioral issues swiftly and strongly. That being said, they also have procedures in place to involve all parties and encourage grace filled conversations.

CCA was an answer to prayer for my family. We homeschooled and my daughter needed more social interaction while my son needed more accountability with his school work. CCA delivered for both of my children on these issues plus countless more. The teachers and administration are always available to talk to and are willing to work with parents to provide what each child needs. They are dedicated and work long and hard to make CCA a loving environment for both staff and students. There is a great community atmosphere at CCA and help and support is always available from fellow parents. The building is new with state of the art technology and security. CCA provides many electives for secondary students with something for everyone, such as STEM, art, music, theatre and business. Both of my children have learned so much during their 5 years (so far!) at CCA. They have grown in their faith and in their character and will be more than prepared for college after graduation. I am excited to see and be a part of the future of this fantastic school.

CCA is a university model school so homework is sometimes a review of material gone over in class the day before and sometimes an introduction to new material. Teachers do an excellent job of preparing students for all assignments and projects and give ample opportunities for questions, feedback and assistance even on days when classes are not in session.

The teachers at CCA are some of the most dedicated, knowledgeable, qualified people I have ever come in contact with. They genuinely care about all their students AND their families and routinely go above and beyond to help everyone make this model a success. All teachers must have a Bachelor's Degree and even though the pay is low (as it is in all private schools!), they work hard to ensure the student's are getting the best education possible.

CCA's main focus is developing character of all students. Many of the lessons as well as the weekly chapel messages deal with character issues and the administration leads this effort by example. There are many opportunities for the secondary students to interact with elementary students in order to help develop these characteristics in everyone.

The administration at CCA goes above and beyond in everything they do. They all wear many different hats but always have time to talk to other staff or parents and do their best to listen to everyone and make informed decisions. The head of school has put many new procedures in place and reorganized to make CCA run more efficiently than ever before.

The math and language arts curriculums are well rounded, age appropriate, and challenging. However, we came to this school as a bridge between homeschooling and traditional school. We hoped for social interaction, group work, partner work, projects, etc that we couldn't necessarily provide through homeschooling. None of these things existed in our childrens' classrooms. Also, they have a beautiful new kitchen that our classes did not use once. Take a tour, do your research, and decide for yourself. But for our children, CCA was not a fit.

CCA is not just a school, it is an entire community! Every aspect of my children's development are met and nurtured. The teachers and staff love working with the kids and it shows every day in how they interact with each other and the students.
