The Boyd School has the highest standards of Montessori learning in the Northern Virginia area. The Cascades, Broadlands and Aldie Campuses are the only AMS acredited schools in Loudon County.

I love Lola's Place! My son is in the infant room and every single day when I drop him off and pick him up, I am filled with gratitude for Miss Katherine, Miss Desirae and Miss Silvia. My little one is very happy there and I fully understand why. He is treated with so much love and respect that Lola's Place is truly a home away from home. What's especially great about Lola's Place is that they don't just care for the infants, they also provide the space for them to explore and develop their abilities. In fact, I have watched my son blossom thanks to the program and the teachers' great care. The building is also beautiful and so well taken care of. And Iris, the director, is very accessible and always willing to help. I am so grateful for Lola's Place not only because my son is thriving in their care, but also because while he is there, I have so much peace of mind that I can truly focus on my work.

As an educator for over 13 years, my wife and I were looking for a school with a commitment to help our child reach his socio-emotional and academical potential. After visiting several "schools" and day care providers, we toured Lola's Place. It is ranked as one of the best Montessori programs in Virginia, so we were intrigued to learn more. The director took a great deal of time with us to ensure we felt comfortable with putting our one year old into the infant program. The infant classroom teacher and Instructional Assistant (IA) were so wonderful and helped him transition to school. The toddler program is outstanding. He has a warm, caring teacher and IA who continually support and challenge their students. The toddler program has Spanish, PE, and Music enrichment along with weekly cooking and art projects. I could not ask for a better learning environment for our child. The teacher and IA embrace their students' personalities and differentiate learning for them to reach their potential. No doubt it will give him the skills he needs to be successful when he starts elementary school. All of the staff truly care about the children and take time to interact with parents each day.

My daughter started in the toddler classroom at the beginning of the school year and has loved school everyday since. She enjoys walking into her classroom every morning and treating her teacher with a big hug. She is constantly learning new things. She really enjoys the interactions with her friends in the classroom and is constantly talking about the things she does at school. I would highly recommend taking a tour of the school during the school day to be able to get a good idea of what a montessori classroom looks like in action.

We started our daughters at the boyd school a year ago. They have really benefited from the montessori program at the boyd school. The teachers and staff have been caring and supportive. The family events, enrichment programs and parents night out events have been wonderful.

We are on our second son attending The Boyd School Cascades and we've had a great experience. The teachers Ms Susan and Ms Heather do a wonderful job of planning and administering the classroom. Miss Susan has been the teacher for both our sons and she has been great. I attended parent-teacher conference last month and she was so thorough and thoughtful I was very impressed, Ms. Susan has always been available for on-the-spot discussion of my sons' progress. The classroom assistants Ms Heather is excellent she is patient and solicitous with the children. The class in a nice size with an excellent ration 2 teacher and 1 Assistance so you can be sure your little one is getting plenty of attention. There have been a variety of fun activities and field trips to augment the regular school program. I've been recommending this school to parents for a few years now, and I hope my (and the other) positive reviews here can bring it to the attention of a wider audience.

The Lola s place offers a peaceful, quiet, and safe environment to children. The school is well equipped with everything a child needs. The director communicates very effectively with the parents and is easy and pleasant to deal with. My twins started in the infants program not too long ago and they truly enjoy being in the classroom. The classroom is clean, organized, well equipped, and very inviting. My husband and I completely trust the lead teacher and assistants to take care of them and to promote their development. We were impressed with the lead teacher s ability to deal with infants. She communicates so well with them (we are learning a lot from her). My twin girl was a difficult one, very insecure and attached to us. After only a few days, she was already smiling to Katherine, going to her to feel secure, and exploring the classroom. We are very happy with our decision to have our babies at the Lola s place we couldn t have wished for more. The classroom feels like an extension of our home.

We have been through several Montessori Schools over the lives of our three kids due to family moves. We're very happy with The Boyd School Cascades - it's a traditional Montessori with a dedicated staff. The Director is so passionate about caring for the children. the teachers are true believers in the Montessori approach. The school has a very peaceful feel and truly diverse student body and staff. Our youngest is so happy there. She looks up to the older kids who help her so willingly. I would suggest a visit to the school to see for yourself what a real Montessori community feels like. It's a home away from home for the kids with great academic focus.
