The teachers strongly encourage reading, but in our experience, they have not given busy work to be taken home. Our current teacher wants the kids to have free time at home and so she does not overload the children with work.

At the end of each year, the teachers give every student a character award reflecting ways in which God has gifted them and has been growing them throughout the academic year. It's a sweet time that every parent appreciates.

This is our 4th year at Summit and we have a child in K5 & 2nd grade. We appreciate that our children are learning and are loved! One of the sweetest moments we look forward to each year is the Character Awards that teachers give their students. These teachers know our children and care about their hearts as much as their minds. We have confidence that their time at SCA is preparing them for further education as well as their life beyond academia.

I have loved our time at SCA so far. They really try to involve the parents alongside their efforts and it brings unity for the child and family. My son has learned and grown more than I expected this past year at SCA. He looks forward to school and feels loved by his teachers. I can recommend SCA enough.

My sons teacher is more than just a teacher. I truly feel she has partnered along side my family in raising our son to be a godly man. She truly loves and cares for her students.

My daughter comes home with more knowledge then I did at her age. SCA is ahead of everyone and does a great job if teaching.

I attended Summit from 7th to 12th grade (1999-2005). Summit did a great job of preparing me for college, both academically and by instilling in me a strong biblical world view. The fellow students and teachers I went to school with are still wonderful relationships that I maintain today. My own daughter started at Summit this year and I am so excited for her to have the wonderful experience that I had.

I attended Summit from 7th-12th grade (1999-2005). I had a wonderful experience at Summit and felt that the school did an excellent job preparing me for college. I was well prepared academically as well as with a strong biblical worldview. Many of the students and faculty I met during my years at Summit are relationships that I still maintain today. My own daughter started Summit this year and I am so excited for her to have as great an experience as I did.

Before I had children I was impressed with the education my niece and nephew were receiving at Summit. I knew when I had school aged children SCA was a MUST. I had a daughter and off to SCA he went. I love that she is not being told what to think or just getting little nuggets that have to be taught to pass a test. She is getting the whole subject. She's being taught HOW to learn and think, how to support her beliefs and ideas, and articulate them. The school is very much Christ centered and it shows in their curriculum. SCA is service minded and it starts from the beginning. Older students help younger students with various activities, etc. Good manners are expected. Boys open doors for girls, kids stand and greet a guest when they enter the room, etc. Overall, this is a great school. I recommend you come and take a look, meet the staff and learn more about the classical Christian education model.

This school has been a wonderful opportunity for my child. A few aspects that I believe make Summit such an exceptional place of education: 6th grade remains in grammar school. At the beginning of the year, students are still very childlike in their dress and demeanor, but as the year progresses, one begins to see the physical and social maturity that signals they are prepared to move on. My child has thrived within the Classical model of education - enjoyed learning Latin, even admitting that it has strengthened her knowledge of other subjects such as Science and Grammar. Development of writing and public speaking skills have blossomed; the oratory skills of even the youngest of our students never ceases to impress and reminds that we must not underestimate the magnificent potential of our young minds. NO SOLs! Subjects can be elaborated on and learning broadened. Most importantly, Summit is a Christian school where each morning before classes begin, the students, teachers and school are bathed in prayer by the teachers themselves. Imagine the difference that makes in all aspects of the day. I highly encourage you to seek out Summit and compare it to the norm.
