Some very strong teachers and a wonderful guidance counselor. Horrible, disorganized administrators who continually fail to communicate.

I was in the graduating class of 2023
Young Scholars Program
Learning-
I would Highly recommend this program if you have a passion for learning, and staying up Long nights doing homework. Mostly Learning though.
This program has multiple student run events, such as Night of the Notables, The Passion Projects, and The Young Scholars Retreat, that allow students to experience learning through a way that they can express themselves and be proud of their work. Being an Autonomous Learning program (Learning by oneself), It provides an opportunity for students to discover what type of learning they want to experience and be able to successfully endure any future learning endeavors.
Teaching-
The Teachers are absolutely outstanding at what they do and you'll easily bond with them throughout your years at the establishment.
Science is easily the most fun, the teacher has a charming, fair, laidback, intelligent, understanding and jovial nature that can make you happy to enter their class.
Their experience with the subject and life in general can absolutely draw you in to him and the class. Scholastic Bowl and Forensics (both lead marvelously by them) are a must do for mega nerds.
Mathematics is lead by a Cunning, witty and intelligent teacher who loves his students under their understanding for the subject and ability to proficiently teach the subject.
Language arts is absolutely a class that's teacher just loves what they do. The teacher is very caring and understanding with a love for the students and the program and is very stern and can brighten up a room.
Social Studies is a must see class, with a bubbly teacher that is one of the best people you could ever meet. Their extravagant knowledge of the subject still puts me in awe sometimes, and is very wonderful to know.
Social Emotional support is currently lead by a wonderful and caring guidance Counselor.
I cannot vouch for the SPED program
The safety of this school is not the highlight of the school, but it is wonderful in comparison to other programs in the area .It does a great job considering all the intelligent students of different backgrounds. Although discipline is lightly handled.
The family engagement and dynamic of the program and school in general is truly awe inspiring. In my year, everyone knew and somewhat tolerated
each other and their personalities, something not found in other middle schools. I leave this programs carrying valued memories of comradery and many talented & nerdy friends.

This school has its issues with leadership and students who arent particularly respectful. But, overall I would say that the teachers, especially science and history are wonderful and do care about their students. If your kid can handle a lot of homework and suffering some fools, I recommend this school.

The principal is a little new (year two) but has shown great interest in the progress and growth of the students and seems to care about supporting her faculty/staff.

The homework assignments are varied in a way that makes them inclusive to all learning types. Especially the projects but I have little knowledge of the lesson plans and if they include any moderations for students with learning disabilities.

Zero tolerance policy and the students also support this. (Ive seen it with my student.)

Very thorough assignments that test your childs understanding and creative thought to problem solving. The teachers give clear instructions and ruberics to help students be successful. The amount of freedom given to the kids to be creative really allows for higher level thinking and application.

The teachers are very motivated and show the students individual care despite having a class of 20+ kids. They get to know your child and you as the parent. Very encouraging to see at a public middle school.

The leadership and teachers enforce and encourage a level of professionalism from the students every day. Which builds integrity among the students. There is a sense of pride and inclusiveness even among the students, for all types of people.

Its been fantastic! I have been very happy with the programming, the teachers, my childs development and exposure to diversity (in the content/area of study, and extra curricular programs that include guest speakers from around the world).
