Myself and my daughter went there for a date night. After having the last waffle slice on her plate as soon as she moved it there was a fly coming from it. So I then went on to check mines only to find a fly in the chocolate. I took my plate to the counter and showed the member of staff only to tell me they where having problems with fly . I wouldnt recommend anyone to eat here. Its not safe to consume anything from here with the flies on your mine dont know if I havent eat any fly.. they putting peoples health at risk just to make money

This teachers for Algebra, Advance Biology, World History and French are simply outstanding. Hard work is highly rewarded in this school. The school has a very friendly and encouraging student teacher relationship. The teachers their level best to bring out the talents of each and every student and show case their full potential.

The lack of Freshman and/or Junior Varsity sports is a big disappointment for my students. This school is overcrowded!! Loudoun County approved 8th grade students from Mercer middle school to occupy John Champe classrooms. Access to the school entrance is poorly designed (i.e. no traffic signal) Now that an elementary school is being built next to the HS campus, traffic in/out of the school will worsen. If a student parks at the school he/she must pay for an annual parking pass or risk being towed. No exception for ad hoc student parking.

I would rate my experience at this school very, very poorly. Profanity is accepted and used by students and teachers, content is very easy, students have little respect for authority, students are not being prepared for college, and the schedule itself is very inefficient for a myriad of reasons. That being said, I did give two stars rather than one because students and faculty have been quite friendly, and I appreciate that.

The "50% floor" policy (meaning, for many assignments, the lowest score students can get is a 50%) is absurd. It teaches students that responsibility isn't all that big a deal, and means in some cases all it takes to graduate is turning in one decent assignment a year.
Posted: March 30, 2017
Teachers don't seem to care in most cases, but neither do students, so I don't expect too much passion. Content wise, there is very little academic challenge. E.g. My first day of Junior English (half way through the year) I took a quiz on the usage of commas. I got an A.
Posted: March 30, 2017
Again, the principal sets a poor example for students, discipline is weak, content isn't challenging, and students have no responsibility outside of basic class work

Students are rarely in check. The best I've heard about the top "leadership" figure, the principal, is that he cheers for school and buys popcorn. Besides that, at a school talent show in a previous year, he ended with a "mic drop". Which upset the students and faculty that understand the cost of a broken mic. This year, he acknowledged that he had been asked not to, ans then went ahead and dropped it anyways. Overall, I have been quite annoyed.

My son is doing his 9th Grade at this school. My son absolutely loves this school. We moved recently from Fairfax to Aldie. The teachers for World History, Maths, Science, computer science and French are all just outstanding. I have seen a very friendly and healthy atmosphere between the teacher and student with all race of students. The teachers and student counselors are very caring and encouraging and are very helpful in bringing out the full potential of the student, which I could see in my son's progress report.

This school does not develop strong character in their students unless they are white. They allow the popular students to torment students of other cultures. My daughter was suicidal because of the lack of help and assistance she received while attending this school.

My daughter was new to this school. She was bullied by several girls that never seemed to get in trouble. The counselors tried to help but the parents of the bullies were never involved and the bullying continued. It doesn't seem that this school cares about their students being bullied until suicide happened, then they started to take it serious but the bullying continued against my daughter. She is no longer at this school due to the constant torment she experienced.

Moved to Aldie from Fairfax and absolutely love this school. First and foremost, the Principal is one of the best I have seen in my kids 12 years of schooling. He genuinely cares about his students. He goes out of his way on so many occasions to ensure they are having fun. I have seen him purchase popcorn for the student section, buy wings for the athletes after games and be their biggest cheerleader on the sidelines.
The faculty is stellar as well. Both of my children have been in several schools over the years and it seems they connect well with the teachers. I would highly recommend JCHS. Could not be more proud we chose this school.

I have 2 daughters at this school and they love it. The school has a great curriculum and they are encouraged to try new things. The principal has been very good at responding and encouraging students. Parents are very involved and the sports programs are excellent!

This school deserves a much higher grade. Please understand John Champe is a new school and has it's growing pains. I have 2 children that attend the school and they love it, I love it too! I have called to talk to teachers and guidance counselors and they all ways return my calls and are genuinely concerned about my children personally and academically.
The Band program is phenomenal and so is the Tech Ed department and the Football team. Its a Great School!!

All teachers communicate with me when I ask for it and sometimes when I don't. They are willing to do whatever it takes to help your child succeed.

My kids do have homework every day but they have never been overwhelmed with it.
Posted: October 10, 2015
No because some of the teachers are not effective because they don't take the time to grade the work that the students does so they can see exactly what areas that the student needs help in.

We are new to this area and at first we thought it was a good school until I called the school to talk to the teacher about my concerns on how she grades test and class work and homework. When I spoke with the teacher I asked her how does she grades the work she gives out because I couldn't understand how my daughter had gotten a 54% on test when the paper had 25 questions and only four was marked wrong and the teacher explained that she only graded 8 questions on that paper and I said that was not fair and the teacher said she doesn't grade every piece of work or question that a student turns in and when I said that was not fair the teacher said that she had been teaching for 17 years and no teacher has time to grade everything that a child turn in that would take up to much time. So when I called back up to the school to speak with the guidance counsellor at 8:15 am I told she was in a meeting and didn't call me back until 3:00pm and she had already talk to the teacher and she told me that she understands the teacher because she is a insider and that she said that since I'm outsider that's why I don't understand that the teacher has been teacher for a long time and that is how all the teachers in that department grades. So when I called the next morning at 9:30am to speak with the principal I left my cell and home number and that I was calling to speak about my child and my concerns and he didn't even care enough to call me back. So now I will be calling the school board. Please parents go over all your children work and make sure everything is graded like it suppose to be graded so you can make sure your child is getting the best education they can get.

This school is excellent. The teachers and staff really care about the students. It's still a new school but there are so many good things about it. My child has a nurturing environment to learn and prepare for college.

John Champe encourages excellence in all areas and for all staff and students. The quality of the teachers is outstanding.

Fantastic school. The teachers and administration have done a great job of building enthusiasm, and all the subjects are well-taught. Teachers are there to help students, and they actually TEACH, which, coming from a students, is a very good thing. The math department is incredibly, and surpasses Freedom's a billion times. Despite these good things, Champe still needs to work on its extracurriculars. Other than that, it's a great school to attend. Thank you JCHS!
