This is our first experience in elementary school with my older soon being in kindergarten. He absolutely loves it, and is thrilled about learning and going to school every day. He has improved in every academic area but also in social areas as well. The teachers are amazing and everyone I talk to who goes here so far has loved their experience.

The new principal has done wonders!!!!! My child has grown tremendously in the past year. We enjoy the weekly updates and hope it never stops.

Great staff and administration. New principal is enthusiastic and full of energy! We are so grateful Dr. H. returned to Centre Ridge after leading at Flint Hill for the past 5 years. Blessed is an understatement. Can’t wait to see our school continue to prosper!

My son is in kindergarten and this was his first experience in a classroom environment. He has improved significantly in many areas even though he experiences some communication and cognitive delays. The teachers have been beyond helpful! So blessed to have his teachers care for him the way they do.

See the bullying comment in the question below. Now, to give credit, my child was praised for doing the right thing when they did not get hurt, but when they've gotten hurt because the student in the wrong got physical, frustrated that they couldn't do what they wanted, the attitude was "should have left it alone." And where are the teachers when this happened? Nowhere in sight and leaving the students to their own devices. Kids need adult interference even in free play, sometimes. Teach them how to deal with conflict. Recess provides incredibly valuable, teachable moments.

This school was a 6 in 2014, when we moved here, so judging by the school's score dropping 3 points in 3-4 years, it's obvious leadership is severely lacking.

My child has been repeatedly bullied by multiple students. Their "no bully zone" policy is a joke. There are all kinds of things in place to try to prevent it, but no one seems to know how to effectively stop it when it actually happens. My child has been told to ignore kids doing the wrong thing/mind your own business, and stay away from the bullies, instead of addressing PHYSICAL ASSAULT issues with the bullies. My child has as much right to be on the playground as they do, but because the other children are aggressive, they are placated with free run while my child is told to watch their back and just stay away from them. We have been to the Assistant Principle to inquire about recess supervision, which is severely lacking. The kids are allowed to play where no one is watching. Not a safe environment.

We are moving this summer, thankfully. After a recent incident, I wish we could pull our child out of this school now. It's been a gradual decline with this school. This year has been the worst.

My child is in 4th grade. Homework has virtually disappeared over the last few years. Because homework participation has dwindled, teachers are not willing to fighting for parents and students to actually do homework, so they've given up! My child was in a different school for kindergarten and had a little homework EVERY NIGHT. Now? 4th Grade? Nothing. I have very little idea of what/how my child is doing in school or how to help them if they are having any trouble. Daily teacher emails provide what they did in class, but not how my student is doing with these tasks and subjects. For parents who WANT to be involved in their child's education, this is frustrating.

I have no idea if they are effective because the report cards are vague, at best and no school work is coming home. No guidance on how to improve scores. Just "Here's how your child is doing. Good job/Oh well." My child seems to have liked all of their teachers, but that doesn't mean they are effective. In 3 years, 2 out of 3 have been tired and jaded, and last year the class had 3 different teachers over the year, sometimes in a day or week, because they couldn't figure out a maternity leave situation.

My son had such wonderful learning experience here. We are hoping stay here for many more years. Thank you Mrs.Berry & assistants from kindergarten for all you hard work.

Excellent school. The principal and all administration are involved and friendly. Sometimes the front desk secretaries are a bit dry but that's the worst of it. Our sons teacher is excellent and supports him learning at his own pace. School activities involving parents have been plentiful and fun! Highly recommend!

I am very pleased with Centre Ridge Elem. My Kindergartener has a very difficult time transitioning to leaving mom and going to school everyday. The school counselor, her multi-age teacher and other school staff have done a fabulous job of helping her adjust. Her teacher is very attentive and does a great job at teaching each child what they need to learn. I am so impressed!

I have two girls currently in 2nd grade. The teachers are great. Both homeroom teachers from last year and the two homeroom teachers from this year are caring, dedicated and really want the best for their students. When I've e-mailed them with questions/comments, they would get back to me with thoughtful responses. The parent/teacher conferences were very specific was it was obvious they spent a lot of time evaluating each student.

The downhill slide started about 5 years ago but has accelerated with the recent principal. This review is written from a parental standpoint as well as the spouse of a staff member. Neither perspective receives glowing remarks. The current administration has alienated staff to the point where this year, close to a 3rd of the staff are escaping & many of the remaining want out. The principal/administration does not understand how to manage, are unprofessional, aloof & micromanage to the point where the principal is in the weeds in areas she has ZERO proficiency or knowledge. Rely on the professional staff to execute the work but no, she tells them what to do, when to do it and how to do it. What an exciting work environment to be in if you are a robot! Most of the staff are outstanding professionals & are doing exemplary work (sometimes in spite of the principal). Our child was placed with a 1st year teacher & the results were a complete disaster & no meeting or discussion ever resolved it. This school will get worse before it gets better. My spouse doesn't work here any more & my child is flourishing in a new school. This school needs professional leadership badly.

Could disagree more with the post submitted on September 4th, 2012! Centre Ridge is a great school - orientation was held in the library where the both the Principal and her assistants introduced themselves. My daughter is in the 2nd grade at Centre Ridge and has attended the school for two years. So far she has had great teachers and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Every orientation they were shirts that say Centre Ridge - the greatest school on earth - I believe that they live that creed through their dedication to the school and the children.

Ms Brady is Awesome!!! Ms young has been retired but there is no match for her. My daughter had her in 4th grade and I wish if she could be there for her in 6th grade too. Ms Roeske 1st grade teacher.. Great teacher.. very loving and encouraging and she helped my daughter learning to read... My son has Ms Cruzan in kindergarten and he loves her.She makes kids involve in their work and do the best they can. New principal Mrs Dias-pareja is Awesome, she is so personally involved in children activities and visits classrooms more often.
