If you are seeking a school that provides a strong, well-rounded education, this is unfortunately NOT the place. One of the first red flags should have been the limited instructional hours. It is simply not possible to cover grade-level material effectively in such a short school day.

My child attended for two years, and by the second year I began to notice troubling gaps in what they were being taught. I compared their progress with students in public schools—even those in lower grades—who were already covering concepts my child had yet to encounter. When we transitioned to a new school this year, the extent of the problem became undeniable. My child is now significantly behind their peers, and we have had to hire a tutor and even consider whether repeating a grade might be necessary. It is heartbreaking to realize that, despite paying for what we believed would be a quality private education, our child has been left at such a disadvantage.

If what you want is a “feel-good” environment, this school might seem appealing. But if your priority is actual academic progress, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

In addition to the weak academics, communication with parents is poor. I often felt discouraged from even entering the building, which only heightened my concerns about transparency. To make matters worse, the children are sent to play in the parking lot, as there is no proper playground. For a school, this is both unsafe and unacceptable.

Please save yourself the heartache and your child the setback by exploring other options.

My daughter was in public school for first grade, which ended in covid quarantine. I was not displeased, as it gave me the chance to see how little she truly learned there. I then homeschooled for second and third, but the teacher for really tired of it. It was me, I was the teacher. She had to go back to school. I found Oaktree and decided to give it a year and see how she did. She THRIVED. She loves her school( her teachers, her classmates.

The school is very interested in family, in values, and in being Christ-centered. When my daughter's grandma died, teachers were so loving and caring that it stunned me.

She tested gifted in public school, and I worried that she wouldn't be challenged enough in this school. She now teaches her older friends things they haven't learned yet... And they're a year ahead of her in their respective public schools.

I could go on and on. My Girl is now preparing for middle school there, and she has truly blossomed there. We just adore it.

Wonderful school. Family environment and it's so wonderful to have my kids learning in a loving environment. If you are looking for rigorous academic achievement, I'm not sure Oaktree is for you. If you want an environment where you child can grow in a joyful and peaceful way, definitely check Oaktree out.

I’m still trying to figure out if they ever intended to teach my child, or they just wanted the money. Even after the child doesn’t go there anymore, they continue to bill you for another six months. On top of that, they stole my child’s school supplies. Wondering if I was scammed. They act nice, but nothing they do is kind.

They have optional homework. Hard to know what to look at.

Posted: September 18, 2019

They love to be respected but the work they teach is lower level.

This school tries to teach character, but they think too much of appearance.

Posted: September 18, 2019

They let my child get injured and bullied and were only concerned about their image. They say that they care, but all their actions say they care only about their image.

Posted: September 18, 2019

They immediately reject anyone difficult to keep themselves looking good.

Posted: September 18, 2019

This school protects against physical violence but ignores all other forms of bullying including exclusion, stealing and bullying from the teachers.

Excellent. It has made all the difference for two of mine to grow into confident adults, who would likely have been swallowed up in the public school environment they left behind.

There is no homework besides daily reading, for k through sixth grade.

Posted: October 23, 2018

They are engaging and committed to their students!

Posted: October 23, 2018

Students have regular chapel services. Daily interactions work with an eye to character development. Monthly themes stress biblical principles.

Posted: October 23, 2018

Administration is totally Christ-centered and also accountable to a board of directors. Thoughtful and prayerful .

Posted: October 23, 2018

Although there is no structure to accommodate learning disabilities, it is an excellent environment for students who may not fit comfortably in a large, mainstreamed school with less tolerance and flexibility for individualism.

With great empathy, bullying is not tolerated, but dealt with lovingly but firmly.

This is our first year at Oaktree. My daughter is in third grade. She has learned more in the three months we have been there than all of last year combined. Initially, I was a little skeptical with their no homework and early dismissal approach to education. After seeing the surge in my child's social development, her eagerness to learn, and her overall increase in confidence, I am now a believer in their educational model. Compared to the "public school" kids in our neighborhood, which are mostly 4th and 5th graders, my daughter is on par with them educationally. I saw the negative comment posted to this site and I am sorry this child and parent had a bad experience. I can only speak from our experience. Visit the school, take a tour, and schedule a meeting with the administration to see for yourself. We have loved our experience thus far.

I'd say this is the worse school my daughter ever went to I thought since it was private she would be more advanced come to find out she was a grade behind. They don't streive to teach kids right nor do they seem to care. I would not recommend this school. The monthly cost wasn't that bad but I guess it's true you get what you pay for.... my daughter is doing so much better in public school in one wwwk than she did two years at oaktree.....
