This is a decent school with some great teachers but somehow at least lone teacher leaves each year due to complications with the students. Students have severely changed while going to this school not in normal ways. Also this is supposed to be a gifted school but it seems just like a regular public school.

My daughter attended ADL from 3rd - 8th grade. We are very happy with the academic program and project-based learning curriculum. The middle school program is IB, so the grading system is different from traditional school programs. The education she received at ADL has been great in preparing her for high school and the social skills she acquired through the project-based learning assignments will help her throughout life. Even though this is a public school, prospective students must apply for admission and then qualified applicants are selected through a lottery system. This is a good school for students who are creative and self-motivated, but might not be a good fit for students who need a more structured and traditional learning environment.

The school is currently in the process of applying as an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and these are attributes of the learner profile that they enforce at the school.

My daughter was a 3rd grader during ADL's first year (2015-16) and she blossomed more than in any of her years. The staff is great and they create such a positive, joyful and safe environment for the students. They are a project based learning school and there is so much hands on learning involved! They support their arts and music and have so many clubs and extra curricular activities to keep the students engaged, happy and experienced!
