All three of my children thrived at this school and were proud to attend Riverside. They were well-prepared for college.

Each year, it's a mixture with good teacher/bad teachers. There are some truly great teachers and there are other who are slow in updating the gradebook (parentVUE) or slow to respond..but even those teachers have great quality so I had to use the phrase "Bad Teachers". Another thing I notice are Schoology and overdue notices. This is more of a technology issue but we used to get overdue assignments only to find out that the assignment was a paper hand in but Schoology shows as incomplete/overdue (online hand in). So as a parent, tend to freak out. Also, over emphasizes on sports. Go to their Twitter page and you see more posts on sports than academics or everyday school life.

Still, couldn't complain. DC got into college and I truly believe it was due to teachers recommendation letters and some key AP classes DC took.

Some truly amazing teachers, but too many ineffective ones that used covid as an excuse to do nothing - even for AP classes. Administration is oblivious to their incompetent staff and faculty at best - at worst, they just don't care. I had to take on the job of case manager for my oldest, demand action when my daughter was being be sexually harassed, as well as confront a teacher that was acting inappropriately and tried to lie to my face about it. And on my daughter's graduation day, her counselor called her as we were leaving for the ceremony to inform her she could not walk across the stage. Turns out during the six weeks prior to graduation, her counselor failed to confirm she passed her dual enrollment class. Talk about incompetence. My daughter could not wait to get away from Riverside.

Where do I begin with this school?! As a parent of TWO children who attend this school, I have come across NUMEROUS issues.

The teacher/administration & parent communication has been horrible! How can a SENIOR who is in danger of failing not have their counselor and parents involved more? I'll tell you how, because there is a lack of concern. Students must pass the Standards of Learning (SOL) tests in order to graduate. Instead of making sure the student/s learn the information they just say, "we will give you localized credit" and pretty much just pass you on. What sense does that make? Seriously? Students can come and go freely on the campus with ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. With todays "Issues" how can a student leave the campus (when they should be in class) but then come back on campus without being asked where they are coming from? I honestly think the principal is oblivious to what goes on in his school. Certain administrators do what they can to keep him uninformed with scenarios that he should be aware of. This school is by far the worse that my children have attended. I would not recommend this school to any parent, but then again LCPS are seriously getting black eyes for all the assaults, sexual assaults, etc. Do not send your children here. END OF STORY

Beware of Riverside High School! All students within the Loudoun County School District are clearly at risk. However, Riverside's Administration is the worse. The lack of communication, fail to take responsibility for any failures within the school. Your child in not safe within the school. They are exposed to drugs, abusive students, racism, and possible sexual assualts that the county selects to hide. My children both had an IEP but the school does nothing to follow the recommendations established. Teachers do not care to reach out to parents, they let kids skip class, or even leave the school. They do not go beyond the accomodations of any student. The current Principal, Mr. Anderson is oblivious to what is going on in the schoolhouse. The very questionable decisions that the Administration is making goes without consequences. They will hold you accountable as a parent but look the otherway when it comes to addressing current issues. My Child was exposed to drugs in the schoolhouse, experienced bullying and domestic abuse with another child at Riverside. The school did nothing to help. Please also be aware that the school RSO will do nothing to address what is going on in the schoolhouse either. Please seek another school other than Riverside High School. The ratings for this school are no longer current. Please place your child and your family first and select another school

More of a review of the school system. School is very good. Nothing spectacular but very good. From what we've experienced it's a typical rich suburban school. The shortcomings are more a district issue. Be aware that the district does not put the students first, the leaders put politics and their own careers ahead of everything else. While schools across the country worked hard to open back up LCPS has left the children behind. In fact I would give odds that this school district is one of the last in the country to fully open up and start teaching the students again. It was simply not a priority nor was the input from parents and student who were ignored during every step of this crisis. I highly suggest searching the internet before making a decision.

New school, best teachers in Loudoun fought to be here. Administration outstanding. Great communication with parents. Daughter has an IEP, AND is honor roll. Teachers bend over backwards to help, going beyond the accomodations. They really care and it shows. Service oriented, free tutoring by Honor Society members. Excellent Inclusivity. Great Fine arts program and boosters. You cannot go wrong here.
