The car rider line being screwed up is a metaphor for how the entire school operates. Massive lack of organization. I attended GVHS in 2021 when it was brand new and graduated in 2024. To say that GVHS let my family and I down would be an understatement. When I attended, it was overcrowded despite being a new school. Now, it is even more overcrowded. The principal is never anywhere to be seen and several admin and security guards are spread thin throughout the school. The influences throughout the school are horrible and have gotten worse. My brother ended up switching to online. There was a lack of professionalism with the teachers. They would often treat students more like friends or peers or even play favorites with certain types of students. There have been drug problems since the start that have never been officially addressed. Students get up to god knows what in the bathrooms which is honestly a shame for students who are trying to innocently go about their day yet get lumped into all this mess. The fights have always been an issue, even resulting in serious injuries or staff members getting injured. I had an IEP throughout school bc of my learning disability, and I will say that GVHS barely did anything to support me. Still a miracle how I somehow passed math because I barely ever had anyone work with me on it. The tutoring they offered after school was peer tutoring anyways. Overall, this school has never had a positive culture/environment or anything. It has been a place that continues to bring students down. The lack of disorganization is at the root of the issues.

I have two graduates from Gainesville High Schools first two classes and two more in school (10th, 11th). I also have two more raised in Florida. This has been the best school for my kids. Lots of well run activities, lots of challenging classes and teachers, staff and coaches that care. One of my kids has now graduated off of his IEP with the help and guidance of teachers and staff. The two graduates were well prepared for college (University of Tennessee and JMU). My kids have played JV and Varsity sports, band and marching band and other clubs and we do not have one negative experience among them. This is a very strong school and I would highly recommend it to others and have.

I love my school. The teachers are super kind and always willing to help, whether it's with schoolwork or just giving advice. They make the classes feel welcoming and safe, and it's clear they care about their students. The hallways and classrooms are always clean and organized, making it much easier to focus and feel comfortable. Lunchtime is great too—the cafeteria is clean, and everything feels well-maintained. There's a strong sense of community at this school, and students are generally respectful and supportive. I also appreciate how the school offers a variety of clubs, activities, and events to keep everyone involved. Overall, it’s a great environment to learn, grow, and feel supported daily.

My experience at this school has been amazing (and will always will be). The teachers are incredibly kind and supportive, making learning enjoyable. The school is well-maintained, with top-notch cleanliness. Classes are manageable, although the difficulty can depend on the subject you’re taking. Making friends here is easy, and the welcoming environment always makes me feel safe. The food is awesome and always delicious, and the lines are long but it’s worth the wait. Overall this school is recommended for anyone going to a good college and career path.

Students do not feel good. Too many fights and do not feel safe when alone with other students. Students do not care of what teachers say and disrespect them everyday.
