Absolutely worst elementary school possible. If you can avoid sending your children here I highly recommend stay away. No communication/ reply’s from teachers admin , office staff. Horrible treatment from principal. If you speak on an issue you /your child will be treated accordingly by entire staff. Definitely a huge let down. We have removed our children and moved due to how horrible it is. Several families did the same

The new principals at this school are not interested in the children you can tell this is just a stepping stone in their careers. I have watched them literally shut the doors in the morning at 730 as kids are running up the sidewalk without their parents. These students were left outside and I had to escort them inside myself. Unfortunately this has happened several times.

Admin and office staff doesn’t care about the children. They are concerned with only a number for accreditation and nothing more. Rude and I would homeschool before sending my dog here!

That school will treat you like there your family and welcome you the first day you get there and make you feel like your welcome and not nervous for a week

Sent both of my babies here. Both had amazing teachers that went above and beyond for every student in their class. Would highly recommend this school.

My experience with the school is fantastic as they do their best to communicate with families about what is going on at school. My issue is with educators not taking responsibility for their failures and putting them on the kids instead.

Maybe my child just had a bad experience, or it was just me that didn't approve of the teacher, but last year was NOT a good year. There was a serious lack of teacher/parent communication on the teachers part. I do not feel that instruction time during class was executed well enough to allow kids to finish their work. A quote from my daughter: "Mom, there is never enough time. We're always moving so fast from one thing to another!" This caused my daughter to continually receive low marks for "Finishes classroom assignments". She made honor roll all year round, but I feel as though she could have performed better had the kids been given adequate time to accomplish task while in school. If enough time is not give, then maybe they should rethink the homework policy and allow kids to make up their classwork at home.

My child has only went through 1st grade, so I can't say she had too much or too little. She knew it was important for her to do it and that was key

I have never witnessed a parent feeling like there child was lacking in learning. If there is a problem occurred the Administration would handle the problem first thing.

I adore the school atmosphere the administration and teachers are wonderful. Truly has enjoyed my experience with Phillips.

Phillips has a program where they recognize 6 students weekly as Falcons of the Week. Students who receive this recognition must demonstrate the Falcon values: respect, responsibility, and other great character education traits. They also make a Project Wisdom (Character Ed) announcement daily, and the professional school counselor also works on character education through her classroom lessons and group sessions.

Phillips has great teachers, students, parents, and administrators!!!! They have genuinely demonstrated that they love the kids.

Phillips is truly one of the best kept secrets of Hampton City Schools! My children have attended Phillips the past five years, K-4. The staff is very helpful, encouraging, and passionate about children and education! There are many opportunities for parent involvement and student activities. We could not have asked for a better school and elementary education experience!

Phillips is a great school; I have two children there kindergarten and 5th grade. The principal is amazing as well as the secretary and other office staff; the teachers have been great they take the time to explain assignments and stay very much involved in the students well being and education this is something that you don t find regularly. I recommend this school to anyone living in the Hampton area, please keep up the great work oh and the state test exams speak for themselves . GO FALCONS!!!!

My daughter has flourished at Phillips. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and she has had great teachers for three years in a row. I have seen the administrators go out of their way to help children and families time and time again. Another reviewer called Phillips the best-kept secret in Hampton, and I agree!
