Great experience at OP for all three of my boys. From K through to 5, they developed great bonds with the teachers and classmates. The staff are very supportive. The Principal (Pence) is top tier and this school is so much better than it's low rating on Great Schools. Every experience is different, but for me and my family - it's been awesome.

My son has been bullied since kindergarten by the same students. Called Gay among several other names. When he has brought it to the attention of his teacher she refers him to the councilor or tells him to wait and never comes back to check in with him. This school is a joke.

I didn't know Elementary schools used gaslighting on students who have been physically bullied in 2023 but here we are. What's worse is they disguise it as being in the best interest of your child to not move them, and leave the door wide open for more physical abuse. Don't send your kids here, they won't protect them.

I see it with Many kids not all but again, it is because of the way their parents are (some very disrespectful to the point where don’t obey where to park)

Posted: March 7, 2019

I’ve seen improvements in other kids as well as my child when it comes to leadership

This was a old school of mine, and if I could I would go back and do it all over again, the teachers really care about the students and students with learning differences they really try to help them.

I can give a rating of good for the teachers and the staff. But for the school transportation and safety its very bad. The pickup time for a student is approximately 45 mins of waiting time. Just imagine how long the kids would stand , its fine in summer but in winter it is really terrible. Then our co parents cooperation some are really wonderful but some are bullies they wont put their indicators or wait for their turn just like that they pass. What respect they have for other human beings I cant imagine.Once I accidentally(didn't know i cant park there) parked my car near one of the neighbor she harshly threatened me she will hand me over to the police.I didn't park the car in front of the house for this even she threatened me like this. Her sons are also studying in the same school and of course she should know the situation but still her action was very harsh. And her son maybe in 3rd or 4th grade doesn't know whether to cross or not when the car is moving. Maybe what I did was wrong but threatening someone using police name is way to far. I do not blame her I blame only the school for making us wait for so long. Imagine a 3rd or 4th grader like that boy without knowing to cross the road is walking for nearly 0.9 mile from school to home and vice versa. Yes it is happening in this school only they make children walk with one or two attendants. Its really scary to drive in that road even in 5 km per mile because it is crowded by the walking students. Kindly I will insists the school authorities to take the necessary steps to bring an organised transportation for the students. I transferred my child from this school but for other kids only god must protect them.

I Love the teachers and staff here! I would give 5 stars but...
They seriously need to do something about parent pick up! The lines are crazy long, some of the classes wander out 10 minutes after they are supposed to forcing everyone to wait longer, it already takes a good 20 minutes to pick up our children, one of the biggest problems is people making illegal left turns out of the parking lot when the sign clearly says NOT to, I have almost been hit several times because people refuse to obey the rules! Maybe an officer needs to sit there for a while or something

My oldest has been at this school from kindergarten until now 2nd grade, all of her teachers have been absolutely AMAZING!

The teachers are awesome! Anytime I have had a concern they are all over it.

It's probably closer to "below average" however there are some positives to the school so I'll be generous lol. My son has attended Olivia Park from Kindergarten until this year, 5th grade. One year was wonderful due to his teacher (Ms. Ostlie) but others were pretty bad. The classes are over crowded. One year it was so bad they had to put two grades in one class with ONE teacher for both! My son learned little that year. There are many events through the year, which is nice, but due to the crowding/no parking I don't attend them often. I HATE the parent pick up!! It is horrible. They used fund raising money my son's 1st year there that was SUPPOSED to be used to create a shelter for the parent pick up area for a Halloween party hosted by a radio station DJ instead. I was not happy. The kids are stuck there in the rain uncovered as the line of cars must wait 15+ mins on average(25-30 on half days!) to get to the front to pick the child up. They spend time/money on a garden when they fail to meet basic needs/standards! I've been called many times to ask why my son wasn't there..when he was (he didn't get in late either!) it scares me! Disorganized in general, but they try I think :)

My family recently moved into the neighborhood, but after reading some reviews, we decided to home school for this year. A couple of weeks ago, we did a walk through of the school and met with the interim principal and did a walk through of several of the class rooms. I thought the staff was very friendly and overall, I thought the school was fine. (I didn't think it was outstanding, but it wasn't as bad as many of the reviews made it seem)The reason we did the walk through was to determine if we would be sending our kids there next year. My only concern is safety. I noticed that the class room doors were not locked and anybody could open them. This is not a closed campus, so I feel like anyone could easily bypass the office and enter a classroom. I asked the principal about it, and she said the school didn't feel that safety was a problem. I only live half a mile from the school, and I see how much police activity goes on here. I feel like the school is not being proactive in keeping the kids safe. It only takes one time, by one person, to create a safety issue. Locking the doors is one simple way to help keep kids safe. For this reason, we will be homeschooling next year.

Great school - teachers care, and put forth a lot of effort for their children.

Olivia park has the rudest office staff and principal I have ever met!! These people obviously hate kids and defiently should not be working at a school! My daughter has had one amazing teacher here and the other ones were not good at all! needless to say I transfered my daughter out of this school!

I have not been very impressed with this school. My son has been a student for 4 years and each year seems to get worse. The office staff has to be the rudest and the phone etiquette is awful. I find this school to be very unorganized. My other two younger children will definitely not be attending this school.
