Fails to notify parents in emergent situations, staff is unprofessional.
Recess items are outdated, flat, or broken.
My son felt forgotten at open house, none of the staff in the front office is trained or know whats going on. I asked where my sons classroom is and they had no idea where the classroom would be.
Only positive is they have a wonderful teacher that use to be apart of the south kitsap district otherwise.

I have literally had to start over once I pulled my child from this school as they weren't teaching anything and now I homeschool exclusively. They failed to follow the IEP, causing SERIOUS HARM and a MEDICAL EMERGENCY to my special needs child. The para educators and special education teacher called my child a liar (my child was NOT lying) about the daily bullying going on. COMPLETE Lack of support to my child. the para refused to follow the medical needs for my child which resulted in serious physical harm as well as emotional harm to my child and two years later my poor kid is still traumatized by her!

They do not stop the huge bullying problem going on and several people in the community have complained about it!
Posted: July 14, 2018
staff at this school sit around and bad mouth the parents, other people over hear it and it gets spread back to....the parent! Lack of support for the child! Total support for horrible teachers.

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST school I've ever seen! The para educators and special education teacher failed to follow IEP and caused SERIOUS MEDICAL HARM as well as EMOTIONAL DISTRESS to my special needs child! They failed every part of the IEP! My other special needs child was in the developmental preschool and her teacher was kissing her on the lips! (According to my child). Both teachers failed my children! The school completely failed my children! The bullying is ridiculous and is not addressed, instead if a child complains they're being bullied the teacher calls them a LIAR! Such treatment is ridiculous and uncalled for by staff. I was also told by an outside source who observed my child in the self contained classroom that "they aren't teaching anything". This is absolutely true I found out as I now homeschool and had to start my child completely over in that grade level! I would rate this school a zero if it were possible. Also, it took TWO MONTHS for them to even get to testing my child in the first place before placing my child in their horrible conditions, that's two months of school my child missed on top of them not even trying to provide adequate care. Also, I was told my child qualified for a 1:1 para educator but "we don't have the funding" guess what? NOT MY PROBLEM. schools are REQUIRED to follow IEP's, IT'S THE LAW!! I absolutely HATE this school for what they did to my child, my poor kid STILL talks about it and it's been over a year!! Because of our experience here I plan to homeschool my children forever now and will never trust public schools again.

Best Teachers, Staff , Principal and Students around. Love this school. Test scores improving every year. Showing that even though we have a diverse community with lots of hard work from Sand Hill community we can make it happen.

This school has heart and soul for their students and parents. The teachers and staff care about the students. Larger schools could learn a few things from this school. This school would put the money to use for the students in their school. They are always thinking about making things better for the students and parents.

My son goes to Sand Hill Elementary. They are a very proactive school that not only puts the kids education first but are very involved with all aspects of the childrens growth and social development. They deserve a 10, not just a 5.

The First year I have attended but we like it so far. It seems as though the school will be easy to navigate. All of the staff have been friendly, kind, soft spoken, easy to get along with, managable, generious, unbelievable, knowledgable, great, wonderful, and amazing. The school is clean. The play ground seems to be amazing. I can't wait to see what kind of fun and "trouble" I can get into this year. I feel assured that any of my needs will be meet. This has been a fun begining to my first year ever at a public school

I love this school! It is good for our area. We have teachers who love to teach! My son is now in 4th grade and his favorite teacher is his first grade teacher still to this day! He has liked them all but this one stands out! Our PTA is growing and thriving! Our test scores have only improved the last few years! This is the only school my kids have gone to, my score would have been different if you would have asked me 4 years ago. Im proud to be apart of this school!

This school has sucked the fun out of learning for my kindergartener. They offer outdoor recess to Kindergarteners only once a week. Probably because they suffer academically, this school seems to show zero importance to physical education. It's no surprise so many of it's students are overweight. My child is bored ( also not challenged) in the classroom whie he listens to other children playing on the playground. It has been a very sour start for my child's educational career and I am thoroughly dissappointed.
