My child got assaulted at Chinook and the school basically told that my child who's a victim is actually at fault. I tried escalating and went to the school district, and they did nothing but backed the school. I really don't understand why the school and the district hates the honest kids so much, based on the reviews here it's all they do - try to make sure nothing is addressed and everyone else is blamed. No wonder their enrollment is at all time low

Personally, i have basically no problem with this school friends and learning wise , and that's not bad, but i have experienced one of my best friends getting accused of sexual assault, which they did not do, and the school did nothing to help, which did give us trauma. Also, this school is biased, as there is one student in particular who never ever gets in any trouble no matter what they do, while the people who get hurt because of this guy get in trouble, which is completely unfair. Many people, including me and my friends have reported this guy multiple times too, but the school never takes any action. As much as this school says it focuses on mental health and safety, its not really. I would recommend this school if you want to make friends, but like be warned, the school has not yet taken action needed to stop some things.

Someone literally accused me of sexual assault and the school did nothing, I've been paranoid about this for months, it's still affecting me

I watched someone get stabbed by one of the other students, and the student that got stabbed got in trouble, I'm quite sure that the person that stabbed them didn't get in trouble.

Thanks for nothing.

Horrible management and district leadership. Teachers are either careless systemic bullies or hardworking underappreciated heroes never getting their due.

The school did not change its methods for treating bullying

Posted: September 15, 2020

I did not like the school overall

Posted: September 15, 2020

This school has homework topics that student never learnt in class

Some teachers don't help students individually but still are postitive

Major part of students have traits of bullying

Posted: June 19, 2020

I have no idea about how the school deals with student bullies. My child was only bullied by the teachers... and the school did nothing on my child's behalf.

Posted: June 19, 2020

The homework seemed to fall into the "busy work" category rather than providing any learning practice or enhancement.

My student was ridiculed for his religious beliefs, political beliefs and other beliefs, as well. Teachers are well versed in liberal rhetoric and labels. Many teachers expect students to agree with their political perspectives and not all of us are liberals who want to label everyone and everything.

Many of the teachers lack integrity, compassion and respect... how on earth would their students develop any of those qualities if the teachers do not model them??

In Bellevue School District, you must be mainstream to "succeed"...Air quotes because "success" is all relative. If your student has learning challenges, LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!

Posted: June 19, 2020

It is not a good school, but I also believe that school should be privatized if education is the priority. Is public school meant to serve the government? Not really seeing how it is serving the masses, particularly in Bellevue where there is a HUGE financial chasm between the east and west side of the city...and yet, the district focuses entirely on college prep. Um, last time I checked, university costs money, and a lot of it... so isn't it odd to focus on college prep when a huge population of Bellevue might not be able to pay for it??? Seems a bit elitist.

They work at this! It looks like they do a good job with what is brought to their attention.

Posted: April 14, 2019

excellent. No one is perfect, but the school keeps working at being better..even as they do things very well.

Posted: April 14, 2019

Most teachers are flexible yet hold students accountable. Teachers don't see to give homework unless it is useful.

Posted: April 14, 2019

My children are seeming to learn critical thinking and content in their classes. They talk about their learnings a lot at home. The teachers adjust to student needs and have actually helped test my kids differently due to their test challenges.

Posted: April 14, 2019

They work at this and seem to do a good job. The disciple program is more focused on repairing and learning from the negative interaction versus punishment. Where as a parent, I was angry and wanted a kid who was mean to my child to feel it...the school did a good job in teaching that child what he did was wrong and working with him to make better choices.

The principal and principals are very responsive. They keep in touch about interpersonal issues. They are very involved in IEP and other meetings.

Posted: April 14, 2019

The district needs more money towards students with disabilities and more support at the school for such students. The teachers and staff work hard with what they have.

Very nice new school. People may not like the large class sizes but they help you advocate for yourself. Has a variety of classes available that help you discover new topics and learn life skills. Great teachers. Many programs to do after and before school.

Posted: June 10, 2018

Gives a good amount of helpful homework each night that re-enforces what was learned in class.

Posted: June 10, 2018

All of the teachers are nice and give you good advice. They help you learn good life skills.
