My daughter is a senior and my son is a Junior right now and I have to say we are very happy to have them both in Peninsula high school!! We love the school and what it has to offer and the staff there are so friendly and very helpful. My daughter will be sad to leave this school as she graduates and moves on to a 4 year college which avid class for her prepared for it and I highly recommend Avid if your student is going there and is planning on going to college. My daughter loved it!!

Bullying has been raised in the last year at this school, via online and now showing bullying in person, 1.5 out of ten! The teachers dont seem to care anymore and the school has quite a few flaws, including how my sons havent been able to get to class with out seeing people being mean. I would recommend if you go to PHS to transfer to Gig Harbor high, as thats what Ill be doing with my sons and they say the people have been a lot more nice!

I would rate this school overall a 9.5/10
It is such a great community to be a part of, and there is something for everyone.
GO SEAHAWKS!

Because the teachers don't push it which may sound weird because it almost makes the students want to do it even more.

They are super effective. They have strong phone policies that students are fine with and depending on the student and their situation teachers are more flexible.

I would agree with this because all the students have some level of respect for their teachers, you occasionally get that one trouble maker but in the end they always turn the other way.

The leadership at this school is amazing. Everyone is looking out for everyone, the upperclassmen are always willing to help if you ever need it.

Oh yeah! Everyone is accepted equally, I would actually say that these are the kids with the most friends because they always have something interesting to say and they are super funny and nice.

If the teachers see any sort of rising conflict they step in immediately to make sure nothing bad is going on. And I have noticed that if they find out one kid is bullying someone they take the matter very seriously.

Our teen sons have flourished at PHS. Never have we had such a positive school experience.

I graduated a few years ago and I'm a junior now at the University of Washington, Seattle. PHS has its flaws, but if a student wants to succeed and be prepared for top colleges, they can be. My first quarter at UW surprised me by being easier than my previous year at PHS (and I was taking chemistry and biology-major related courses). There's an endless list of great AP classes to take (I took nine over my four years) with great teachers. There's definitely a lot to take advantage of, if a student wants to.

I graduated from Peninsula in 2009. Peninsula is a school that offers students opportunities to really do well and succeed, but students have to take some of their own initiative and drive to take those opportunities. I took 9 AP classes (Peninsula so many--the most in the area), and I passed 7 of them. I credit this to the great teachers. They really believe in the students, and if a student puts in the effort and wants to do well, teachers will respond to him/her. The school provides incredible academic programs, students just need to have the motivation to take advantage of them (but a lot don't). Plus, the students are awesome and accepting-- everyone in my graduating class was friends and there really isn't cliques or defining social lines.
