I wish school days would go by slower. My 6th grade year was honestrly horrible but the rest of the two years made my middle school. My 7th and 8th grade year teachers were incredibly helpful and supportive, espeacially my 8th grade science and Spanish teacher, also my history teacher of 7th grade. They allow me to be vulnerable which makes me very happy.

This school was so mentally draining, a lot of the things that happened in nms weren't really punished, like bullying, I never really felt excited to go to school besides to just see some of my friends, and I would have only one staff member to mentally help me. If you have anywhere else to send your kid do it, this not an environment that a kid would be comfortable in. I do not recommend it, If I had an opportunity to change school while I was there, I would. A lot of rules weren't inforced on students that caused problems, Me and my brother were bullied by the same guy, we reported him to the school and the school barely did anything, the guy pulled out a KNIFE in the bathroom school at my brother, and the school did nothing when we reported it, he kept trying to hit me with objects, and I would tell it to the teachers and the only thing they'd do is just tell him to not do it again. Send yo kid somewhere else, they won't be fine in that school.

i was a student here in 2004. the bullying was terrible and i am sad to see in these reviews that there is still so many bullies and they are not being dealt with. when i was bullied in 2004, i went to the principle about it. he brought the bully in who then denied the entire thing, and the principle believed him. im assuming nothing has changed. these were the worst years of my entire life and i still have some social anxieties because of it.

If I could give it less than 1, I would. Bullies run rampant at this school with zero consequences. The administration proves time and time again that they do nothing to stop or punish it. Terrible, horrible school. If you can send your children anywhere else, do it!!

I would say it's an okay school but I noticed some students have been disrespecting the teacher and interrupting. it's loud and I've seen some fights break out. I'm a sixth-grader in honors and Math 7/8 in Nelsen Middle School and I wouldn't exactly rate Nelsen good nor bad. It's a good school if there were more discipline and respect with teachers actively enforcing the rules in the handbook.

Nelsen is an okay school overall. There is very little bullying, while most of the kids are loud and rowdy. But, everyone quiets down when told to and the teachers try to give you the education the students deserve. I'm currently a 7th grader at Nelsen and things aren't great but, they aren't bad.

Nelsen is a very good school. There is no bullying, just a lot of fights. The people aren't rude or 'unruly,' they're really nice. The teachers are really nice, but some are just strict. I don't get how people could give such low ratings.

After reading all these reviews, as a parent of an 8th grader at Nelsen and has had a great experience. You should not expect the school to raise your kids, if you are involved with your children communicating with the teachers about grades your experience will be the same as other parents who do the same . If you don't you will have experiences like below

The school has great teachers for the most part. Their are some that should like below that ruin it for the 98% that are amazing! This year the PTSA ( Parent, Teacher Student association) had an amazing Hawk Walk, the staff, student teachers and even the superintendent walked. It was a fabulous event that was healthy and had the school working as a team. Any person who didn't understand that such as the below , " bullied teacher " should move to another school or become part of the solution not anonymous part of the problem. Thanks you to all the staff that support our kids and parents and make it a great environment for learning.

I've been bullied by multiple students and classes are overcrowded. I requested to transfer last week. The district does not care about what the teachers think they only take action once the parents get involved and the parents are not involved in the school at all. Teachers have to participate in the Parent Teacher Student Association(PTSA) since the parents are not involved at all.

My child will be attending their 2nd year at Nelson Middle school. The bullying is terrible. My childe would had their lunchconstantly stolen, locker would be broken into, and always pushed down in the hallways and school supplies kicked everywhere. The school would then give detention for being late to class We did have a few great teachers and I think they could do so much more if the school would just let them. The priciple is self involved and the counselors are a joke.

Parents need to realize that Nelsen is NOT a good school. I was bullied by countless students, rules aren't enforced, and teachers are rude. It was so bad for me that I had to transfer.
