This school is probably the worse middle school you will EVER FIND. The fighting, drama, gossiping, racial and bigoted slurs, and overall just very problematic student body was so bad that I used to have panic attacks just walking to different classes. One of those classes had 32 kids or more every single day, and I felt so bad for the poor teacher who tried super hard to teach us math with excitement and positivity, but I could tell a couple months before the end of the school year she was just completely burnt out. And I know for a fact she is not the only teacher who has had that happen to her. With insane increases in class sizes, a lack of care and learning excitement for both students and parents, disregard from admin, and teachers that are forced to be too soft and lenient with punishments for kids, I'm surprised there are still teachers teaching at this school, and I have to give them a serious pat on the back for that. Teacher burnout is also a serious issue for students here, as teachers who is burned out, doesn't have the energy to justly grade or doc points for misbehavior, which unfortunately leads kids who actually tried with the same, if not worse grades than the kids who didn't try at all or used Ai for the whole thing. Ai is becoming such a major thing at this school, that when I brainstormed ideas for an essay and brought them up to my teacher to get marked off to start work on a project she told me, "That's good, but maybe use Chat GPT or Gemini to come up with more ideas." The only good thing I can say about this school is that it has pretty decent special Education staff and classes. Although the students are mostly distant to special Ed kids, they're not outright mean to them, which even I'm extremely surprised by. But other teachers don't know how to handle students with ADHD or Autism, which either results in a lack of proper discipline, or a grade disadvantage for the student. Overall, to succeed in this school you need to be extremely popular, sporty, extroverted and be favorited by all teachers, otherwise you'll need to get used to hiding in the shadows, and dreading waking up every week-day. Would HEAVILY recommend not enrolling here.

Even though there are fights its still a pretty chill school, the kids are tuff and the teachers are chill, there is not too much discrimination, in my opinion as an average student in this school, the others reviews are just haters and this school is pretty decent.
Overall this school is an average school, there will be good students and then there will be thugs like myself

This school is horrible, rumors spread so fast, there's fights like every other week outside and inside school, the staff response time is so bad for fights too, not too long ago there was a fight that lasted like 15 minutes in the halls, and this next part is mainly students but some kids spread a rumor about me and I got in trouble despite having proof it was false, and every student believed it too, I also have to endure another year of this, if you're a parent, do NOT bring your kids here.

As a parent, I am appalled that this school likes to hype themselves up as a green school. There is so much laziness when they started using generative AI. My son took a picture of a poster that is still hanging from last month in March for womenÂ’s history month. It includes most all images of beautified historical figures. A certain sub in his literature class suggested using AI to help them with their work instead of reading. The jobs presentation by the counselor included slides regarding and including generative AI. We have had all three years of his schooling here with issues of bullying and kids talking about how other students should commit suicide, including and not limited to my son in particular. I have messaged Miss Frey multiple times regarding these issues and generally unless I go to the superintendent, nothing gets done. Not only do the staff members drive hazardously around the school and disregard post signage. It is unnerving that the amount of laziness and pretentiousness has gone unchecked for so long. This has been a frustrating three years. I am so glad to get my child out of King County where they feel that because they are in Washington they are safe and secure from doing anything worthwhile for their students or the families that pay their taxes in order to make this school what it is. The amount of blatant disregard that the students have for rudeness and racism is mind blowing. That is also an issue with the parents and I very much wish a big wake up call for all of them. This place is bound to have a major incident because they are only waiting until that happens to do anything, and it is very obvious that they would rather push off problematic students to the next school, then actually approach parents about the issues at home because I know for a fact that racism starts at home.

Do NOT go to this school. Don't even try to think about "oh it'll be fine". Other students here can be very rude, RACIST, disrespectful, and there's at least a fight every month. Additionally, students here may TOUCH others inappropriately and hit others. Teachers here are alright, not bad but not good either, mainly because they provide BORINGGG lessons. Furthermore, when I had a parent-teacher conference at the end of the trimester with my parent, the front-desk person gave me and my parent a weird stare, like we knew what to do and where to go, bringing a very unwelcoming vibe to the both of us. Other than great sports teams, do NOT send your kid here, as they're not gonna have a great time.

If I could give them ZERO Stars I would. They were responsible for breaking my sons leg and trying to hide it. My son was a ILC student, he is in a wheelchair and non verbal, he has multiple disibalities. They did not talk to me before making the decision to use a sit to stand stander with him, and when I asked why he was not able to crawl was exhibiting pain they acted to not know why. Don't trust them, their staff bullies the students and claims is discipline. I am glad my kids are out of there.

this school sucks, I seriously can't wait to get out of here. Here's why: they give me bad grades for absolutely no reason and i get in trouble for also no reason like one time someone bullied me i was just defending myself and i got detention and the bully got out Scot-free and i really hate the adults (they don't even care about students) and some of the kids there are racist. so this place is a nightmare and NEVER SEND YOUR KIDS HERE and if you do it's gonna be the worst 3 years of your life.

As a student of this school, I can easily say the people saying there is no bullying are clinically insane (not really I'm being sarcastic). The students often bully me for being skinny, I've been kicked over a few words I said. Mainly the the kids are the problem, but the teachers don't really help to stop that. There are fights often too. Also, a friend of mine literally had to shout out "penis" as an assignment in health (it wasn't just him the whole class had to), which is just INSANE.

Behind in Curriculum ....Teachers don't seem to care too much about students, The approach to Discipline is not effective.

This school is unbelievable. My daughter was given a detention for wearing a "short" skirt and top. My daughter is quite tall and her skirt reached a little below her fingertips and her top covered her up. She even wore a long cardigan! On the other hand, this shows that she was dressed very "scandalous", apparently. Not only was it her, but along with a couple of her classmates, most of them were Asian. Some students wore shorts that only reached their wrist or a crop top that exposed the back did not get dresscoded! She told me that these students were American. The staff is said that it is a learning environment and her clothing options may distract people. If it is a learning environment, how is a skirt going to distract her classmates? Not her fault. The schools rules definitely shows sexism and/or racism. I'm very disappointed and am thinking of moving schools for her.

This school is horrible. Keep your child away from this school. The teachers are rude and don't care about education. The students are jerks and the rules at the school are unnecessary.

the school is great except for some teachers. some are strict. I even almost got a detention for putting my backpack in the hallway by my class.i thought you can bring your backpack anywhere. I don't get how that was even close to getting a detention.

I high recommend against sending your child to McKnight. I went there for two, almost three years and I can confidently say they have no idea how to handle bullying. I had to change schools because I was being tormented daily. The curriculum is very far behind, teachers don't seem to fully grasp what they're teaching, and most kids there don't care for education (look at the test scores!). A lot of kids do come from lower income families... and it shows. They're very "gang oriented" and are overall terrible kids to be around.

I do not believe this school is all that great. The teachers don't feel like they really are knowledgeable of the subjects they teach and just instruct basic content obtainable from other sources. The community is what really bugs me. Most of the students aren't focused on learning and aren't very gentle. I do not like this school at all.
