POOR My son was bullied every day until finally this April he was punched and kicked badly, I had to transfer him 2 months before the end of the school year because the Principal did nothing about it. Among things that happened during school year, a sub teacher locked my son inside a closet and the school didn't notify me. My son was cut in the neck by a class mate during class time - do not send your child if not aggressive to this school. all kids are very aggressive at Dimmit.

In my PE class, we have 4 kids that are in "Special Ed.", which means that they have anger issues or if they have some sort of down syndrome or something. They still participate with our class, with the help of the PE teacher and the "Special Ed." teacher. Our whole class supports them and helps them if needed.

We have a leadership team at Dimmitt that runs the events/pep-rallies/assemblies.

We have something called RISK Expectations (Ready, Innspire, Safe, and Kind). Everyday on announcements, they remind us about RISK. Every once in awhile, they share a motivational quote during the announcements. However the problem here is that we don't really show it by our actions.

Not only are they effective, but they're funny too!

There is not a truckload of homework, depending if you get the things done that you are assigned in class. The teachers give you homework if you don't finish your classwork or if you need to work on it more at home. I'm not saying you won't get homework at all, but you will have less if you just finish stuff in class, you still get homework from other subjects (math, science, LA, SS, etc).

I LOVE Dimmitt! If you like having fun while learning, I definitely suggest going to this school. The staff is amazing, some might be strict, but most of them are pretty chill. The music programs (band, choir, orchestra) are extremely fun, and the teacher is awesome. I HIGHLY suggest coming to this school!

The issue at Dimmitt is administration turn over (no administrator/team ) has stuck around for more than 2-3 years. Also 25-30 % turnover of teachers each year. It's basically a training school for administrators, and to a lesser degree teachers.
Possible human resources (district) issue.

Do not let your student come to this school! Its nothing but problems! The kids dont respect the teachers and other kids will pick on yours if your child doesnt seem to "fit in" . The academic level is ok but the enviorment is so not worth your child going through the embarrasement of the school life here at Dimmit. If possible move to a different location to where your student could go to Nielsen or McKnight. So much more worth it!

I am seriously not impressed by this school. After looking at reports of incidents that recently occurred at Dimmitt, I recommend that you do not send your children there, there are many proven bullies. The government needs to fill Dimmit MS with new staff because no matter what they say they will do, IT NEVER SIGNIFICANTLY GETS BETTER. Really. This is just awful.
