Both of our sons have attended Thurgood Marshall and both have had very positive experiences. Wonderful/supportive teachers and I can't say enough positive things about our principal Ms. May. She is so positive in her attitude and extremely thorough in her communications. For the rare cases where issues have popped up, she responded quickly and effectively to address the problem.

This school was a disaster. My kid was beat up regularly as a 5 year old. The administration did their best to talk me out of filling a protective plan order with the district, which came back saying it was necessary. The school then proceeded to ignore the protection directives. My child's only interest while at this school was learning to fight because they were threatened constantly.

Kids are given way too much homework

Teachers do not know how to communicate effectively with parents. You will literally know nothing that happens to your child unless your child tells you.

My children have no become afraid to go to school. Are relentlessly bullied by children who are allowed to continue to attend no matter how awful and dangerous they are. The school does nothing and allows children to be abused by others.

This is just terrible at TH. My child tells me they see kids strangle other children, hurt them, say heinous things...and the school does close to NOTHING.

ItÂ’s overall been a huge disappointment and I am scared for my kids everyday. The school used to be good and things have gotten completely out of control. They need new leadership and a principal who actually does something about problem students. There policies do not protect victims, they protect bullies. Do not send your kids here if you can help it.

Great community. Split focus between emotional regulation and academic subjects is clear. We love our classroom teacher as she balances classroom learning with wiggle activities, cool art and free choice options as well as yoga. New librarian is a rockstar and made so many awesome changes benefiting students.
