This school doesn't even deserve one star; however, I have to give one star to submit this review. My kids were constantly bullied, my daughter was assaulted, and the assaulter wasn't even suspended. The school explained that they can't do anything about it. The Principal on down through the staff is at best incompetent and refuse to fix this toxic school culture. They explained to me that it is the parent's fault that the school culture is the way it is. The culture can be fixed; however, the Vice Principal doesn't care to try. I am now homeschooling my kids and are recieving a far better education than Cedar could ever dream of offering.

This school has done amazing things for me considering I had a bad experience in the elementary school and was concerned that it was going to be the same here but no it was super welcoming and amazing! If your a military family this school is amazing because of how welcoming it is!

I know a student that, after attending Cedar Heights and East Port Orchard Elementary, did not know where Africa or North America were on a map. When I asked school staff about it they said "we don't teach geography here." It is sad that foreign exchange students know more about US geography than our kids do.

Horrible school. Hypocritical staff wouldn't even offer my son an apology after treating him unfailry

When I attended, the school had just opened and the teachers were lax and exciting. Those although not perfect were some of the better school years of my life. Thanks to great teachers and staff.

My daughters attend here. The only problem I have is that some of the teachers need to show a little more compassion to students. One of my daughters is struggling in math and Isa little shy about letting the teacher know she needs help. But when she does have the courage to speak up. She is told that she needs to "be more faster in math". And this was said in front of the class. I disagree with her reply to my daughter or even a students request for help. That was unprofessional and a poor reply coming from a teacher. My daughter is an Honor Roll student with a lot of respect for teachers and staff. She is not a student that plays around in class or doesn't do her work. She's hard working and takes her grades and education seriously. Although we give a lot of support to my daughter from home . She will not ask for help from that teacher again.

My daughter has attended this school for seventh grade and just started in eighth grade. She failed the WASA in sixth grade but passed the class with a C. Starting in 7th they put her in regular math and LAP Math supposedly to give her more help. HA! She not only failed the WASA again but she also failed the class. And I'm seeing the same thing happening again. Kids are not getting the help that they need because of other problem kids in the classes taking up the teachers time. Or the teachers are getting fed up and losing their patience with some if the students that teachers are starting to yell at all the kids. Punishing all the students because of the actions of a few.

My school is Cedar Heights Junior High and it can be one of the best places too be as long as you make the best of it. The teachers there are very thorough and they do their best too teach the students and it feels like you can ask for help from anyone. So overall it isn't a bad school, and it has most definitely gotten better over the past few years. Its really a school you can't judge by looks.
