My daughter went here for half of 4th grade and the entire year of 5th grade. She and I had a great experience with the teachers. They made her feel welcomed and they worked with my daughter to make sure she was up to par with her reading.

My son went there for 1st and 2nd grade. The 1st grade teacher didn't really do anything to help him or the kid bullying him. 2nd grade was a little better at least the teacher was more helpful but the Principal doesn't care about the kid getting bullied she even asked my son if he started the fight. How could he when he was being held down by one student and the other student threw a rubber ball at him. That was our final staw we pulled him out and now home school him an he is an A and B student.

The teachers at this school are great overall. The principal is terrible. She is rude, condescending, and can't be bothered even when she is in a meeting that she is supposed to be participating in. She was talking to people in the background during the meeting (Zoom), answered another call, was laughing, and was not focused on the child who was in need of special education services. She needs to retire or quit. I was once in the school picking up a child and was talking poorly about a teacher as well as a student. She is the most unprofessional principal I have ever encountered in my career. If she was not at the school, I believe this school would be one of the best in South kitsap. Unfortunately, since she is still there, it is the worst.

I believe great parenting makes great schools, you support your child's learning and positive behavior they learn and love school. As a parent I have learned you need to communicate to make sure everyone is on the same page. Orchard Heights is doing a great job helping my daughter.
Thanks to the great teachers and staff who help her everyday and say hello when we see them in community.

My child has been here since k. The k teachers always did great with keeping in touch and updating parents. 1st grade they pushed the kiddos to read more and do more thinking about what they read and learned. 2nd grade my child loves school. He is excelling in classes and his teacher has a love of teaching. It shows in how she treats her students. We love oh

Not a very nice Area. Over 12 registered sex offenders nearby. The programs offered are not good. Lots of low income parents.

My daughter has been going here for almost four school years now and I've been less than impressed on several occasions. My son is immersed in the special education class here and I often questions some of the things we've been subjected to over the years. There's not a lot of options here so I am considering homeschooling until we can move.

We have had several bad experiences at Orchard Heights. I'm not sure if the school has just gone downhill in the last few years or what, but many of the parents we know in the area are now opting for home school or another school besides Orchard Heights. Both of our children were lost in their classes and got little help to stay caught up despite our efforts. Our 5th grader had a teacher who was verbally abusive to our son and spend too much of her time in on the internet or on her cell phone. Safety and security is another place where this school lacks greatly. There have been several instances of strange people coming on campus during the day and little is done about it.

My daughter was in 5th grade last year. The teacher didn't care about the class; it was always out of control. We had to pay a lot of money out of pocket for camp. The school could have taken a lesson from other schools in the district. Other schools raised funds to take the burden off families.

So far, we have been very happy with this school and my daughter loves it (1st grade).
