Hi, me and my sister are former students of Meeker Middle School. We enjoyed the school, but of course there are some casualties. Some of the good things are sports, lunch, extra curriculars, SOME teachers, and etc... The BAD things are fights, some teachers, most students (in sixth specifically), bathroom, drama (not the afterschool class though. they are amazing). Me (the sixth grader) personally does not like some of the teachers, specifically one of them. I won't drop names though. We enjoyed this school and would definitely recommend. Most students are friendly so it wouldn't be hard for other students to make friends. Overall, we rate this school a 4/5 stars.

I was a student here and wanted to be taken out. I didnt feel safe because I was pushed in the halls and called names because I wouldnt give a girl my water bottle. I told the teacher and he did nothing. It continued.
If youre a god student you will be over looked. Most kids are on their cellphones during class and I stopped using the bathroom because they are nasty . This school is rundown. No support

I would not ever recommend this school. Safety is a major concern. I pulled my child out as soon as she was bullied and kicked to the ground because another student wanted something that she had. Teachers just looked away!! Students are doing very inappropriate things in the halls and bathrooms.
Dont think that your child is going to do better and be more supported just because theyre in band lol. Naive
The teachers dont care if students cheat on exams or even do school work

Since returning after homeschooling during the Pandemic, this school has lost all control over it's students. Bullying is out of control with teachers and staff doing nothing. Weekly fights among students, smoking/vaping in bathrooms, graffiti and property destruction on campus all without discipline or consequences for student actions. No wonder the students feel they can be so destructive. Coming from a very engaging, fun and active elementary, students really have nothing fun to look forward at this school. Activities are lacking, no fieldtrips or whole school PTA events. I feel students would be proud of their school of they felt more involved. It's nothing more than a drab building, where student shuffle from class to class. A few teachers are amazing, engaging and make learning exciting; others seem to have given up. I was told by other parents to send my kids elsewhere if possible before we started middle school, my youngest heads to middle school in a year that is what we will be doing. Unfortunately, for my oldest kid they want to stay with friends so I'm letting them continue at this school. As we move into a new school year, my finger are crossed that change will happen. Myself and a few parents are pushing back, hopeful to end our kids middle school experience on a positive note.

Great school in a great neighborhood. Leadership is great and the extracurricular activities are amazing including music, arts and sports. Daughter plays in the Band, Softball and wants to do Basketball next year. Everything has been amazing.

I think Meeker has potential, the students are wonderful, the building itself is very nice, the music program and athletics are said to be top notch. I was very disappointed with the staff, we had a very difficult time communicating with counselors and a couple of teachers. There was such a lack of compassion and disrespect displayed by the office staff, yes the office staff that left me both saddened and discouraged. It seems they are all burned out, just going through the motions, and just plain don't care about how they talk to or come across to students or parents. They do not care if your child is distraught, only if they are standing in the hallway while being distraught, because apparently that is a big no-no. I had to wonder why I would ever keep my child in that school. I write this awful review in the hopes that the leadership will be motivated to improve communication between families and staff, and help teachers and staff become more engaged in their job.
