We have two kids attending Silverwood for the first time this year and we couldnt be happier. The teachers are great and very supportive when issues arise. Communication is clear and if your child needs accommodations they will not hesitate. My oldest is in their middle school program and the changes I've witnessed have been impressive. The days of tolerating school and doing the bare minimum are gone. Now she enjoys school and wants to do her best in every single subject. I highly recommend Silverwood!

We flew across the country from Massachusetts and very deliberately landed on the Silverwood School campus. I had called in advance an educational consultant in Seattle to seek advice about schools that might be a good match for my second-grader. He without reservation recommended Silverwood. He was spot on. Our experience there aligned with my values and helped my child grow and settle here in school. I am so grateful for that. It was a tough
cross-country transition for her, and we both felt welcomed and received. The school deeply understands children and their need for movement, so academic lessons are alternated with bursts of outdoors physical activity in a beautiful old-growth forest. If the kids are getting a bit antsy during a lesson, the teacher will pivot into a run around the campus, or to have the children break into groups and draw the lesson on the (car-less) pavement of the driveway. What this school is doing with middle-schoolers is a gift to humanity, and to adolescence. Small group learning, deep connections between teacher and all students, inclusion of all kids regardless of learning style, and a no-bullying policy that is closely monitored. I am grateful for Silverwood. :)

I have two kids at Silverwood and honestly couldnt be happier. The school has built such a great community, not just for the students but for the families too. Before our youngest started kindergarten, he had some challenges, and Silverwood was amazing about giving us guidance and support. They helped us figure out what he needed and worked with us so he could be successful. Now both of our kids are thriving there.

What I really love is how much the staff truly care about the kids. You can tell they want the best for them, and that makes such a big difference. Ms. H, the principal, is fantastic, and every teacher and staff member weve met has been wonderful. We feel so lucky to be part of Silverwood.

We have had a great experience at Silverwood School. What has been most impactful for us is that the children are outside multiple times a day, maybe 5-6 times per day. They play in the woods, eat lunch outside, have some classes outdoors, take laps around the building when needed, and are rewarded with more outside time. This is a wonderful gift for my child who needs a lot of physical breaks, and I personally greatly value nature and the environment. Also, special needs educational techniques are incorporated into the pedagogy at Silverwood, as needed. There are both neurotypical and neurodivergent children in the class, and the school makes accommodations for each child's needs seamlessly. They are trained in this. They do not create different tracks of "general education" and "special education," where some children are deemed "normal" and others "different," which can impact a child's self-esteem. This is huge for us. My child feels great about herself as a result, and accepted. I also know that the older kids - in middle school - have a great middle school experience, which is kind of rare. Bullying and meanness are not tolerated. Children of all ages are taught to treat others with kindness and respect. For us, the small class sizes are also critical, and wonderful. Highly recommend Silverwood!

Weve been part of Silverwood for a while now, since our daughter started in 1st grade(2018). Its a great school. The small class sizes are awesome, and we love how much time the kids spend outside. It seems expensive but I think most kids get scholarships.

The multi-age classrooms are nice because kids are placed where they need to be and not just whats convenient. Our son has ADHD, and the school gives him the support he needs. He gets plenty of movement breaks, recess, and a lot of patience and understanding from his teachers. They stay in touch with parents and really listen if theres ever a concern.

The community here is solid. Its like a big family. The kids are kind, and theres a big focus on teaching them how to handle their emotions and treat others well. The middle school kids seem really thoughtful and aware of the world around them.

The school is fairly low tech and kids are not issued Chromebooks until middle school (and they stay at school).

If youre looking for a school that feels connected, supportive, and gives kids a well-rounded experience, Silverwoods a great choice.

We truly love Silverwood School. It lives up to its motto - a place where children are challenged and cherished. My child is in her second year at Silverwood and is thriving in her classroom due to the child-focused academics, social-emotional learning balance and the beautiful community of leaders, educators and parents who come together with respect and dedication to making the elementary school years of our childrens lives both nurturing and academically fulfilling. My child loves going to school every day and wakes up excited to see her friends and teachers. She has a smile on her face every day when I pick her up, and lots to share about what she learned. She is challenged and the school works hard to meet the academic needs of all of the students. The children are encouraged and taught to include and support each other. The teachers and staff are a beautiful team who see this school as much more than a day job - they are dedicated to educating a group of kind young citizens who will thrive in their academic careers and in their communities. Definitely consider Silverwood in your independent school search, you will love it.

Our family has been part of the Silverwood community for over four years, and we couldn't imagine a better place for our kids to learn and grow. The staff is amazing and supportive; they care about each and every child and family. We have found many lifelong friends in Silverwood. Besides quality academics, the school offers many community-centered events, like Halloween parties, Turkey trot, winter celebration with holiday markets, and live music. There are many exciting field trips and activities throughout the year that all children, from the youngest to the older ones, genuinely enjoy. When I drop off my children at school, I know they are well cared for, and their voices matter.

We have had a great experience at Silverwood. We love the teachers and staff and the kids get lots of individual attention with a teacher and an aide in each room. We also feel lucky that math is leveled for students, so they can go to the math classroom that meets their needs. My childs favorite part of Silverwood is the extra outdoor time. Between the long lunch/recess, wheels day and Waldkinder, she is in outdoor heaven. We feel so lucky she gets to attend!

Our child has been at Silverwood since 2021 and it has been nothing short of a wonderful experience for us. The teachers and staff are all sincerely invested in our child's well-being and growth, not only as a student, but as an individual. Every staff member knows each and every child and most parents are involved enough that they know each other, and the other children, as well. Our child, who suffers from anxiety, has grown by leaps and bounds socially and academically since enrolling. Silverwood is so welcoming and embraces everyone who enters with open hearts. We couldn't hope for a better place for our entire family to feel a strong sense of belonging and community!

Silverwood School, including the staff, teachers, students and entire community, is a treasure for our family. We feel lucky and grateful, daily, to have found a place for our children to not only learn and grow, to thrive and be successful, but also, to feel connected with an engaged community. Teachers, staff, and the Head of School have all supported our children's growth and needs on a personal level, and we see this not only with our family, but across the community with all families. The connections created in this environment, over the last five years will continue for a lifetime. Among other values for Silverwood, fostering curiosity, social and emotional wellness and growth, and a significant amount of time spent outside are some of our favorite priorities.

I am aware of negative reviews, notably regarding the Head of School and staff turnover. Change and growth are not only inevitable, but also necessary. The current Head of School is an exceptional leader, as is evidenced by family satisfaction and engagement, as well as staff satisfaction and engagement. Her priority was leveling up the education and experience for the community as a whole (which was necessary, and for which I am grateful). Unfortunately, growth and change can be uncomfortable, and a few families/staff were resistant to necessary changes. Communities can only be as successful as the willingness of all participants to engage, grow, and thrive.

Silverwood is an evolving and resilient community, it is an effective community in creating and innovating, and embracing diverse opinions and needs, and working together to cultivate an exceptional school.

My daughter is a kindergartener this year at Silverwood. As a not quite five year old, my daughter wasn't old enough to attend public school kindergarten, but she was exhibiting all the signs of readiness and really wanted to go to school like her older brother. We made the decision to send her to Silverwood and I can't say enough great things about the school.

My daughter is very interested in math and science, but hasn't ever shown much interest in reading or writing. Since starting Silverwood in September, my daughter has absolutely blossomed. Her love of math, science, and art are being fostered in ways I didn't expect. But most impressively, my daughter who had no interest in reading is suddenly so excited about learning to read. As we drive around and as she talks, she's started independently sounding out words and identifying how things are spelled. She's started reading signs as we drive. It is so surprising to me and I am absolutely thrilled. She is still struggling with learning to write, but the teachers and aids at Silverwood are so patient and supportive of her.

My daughter has also become more independent and is learning lots of socio-emotional skills as well. She loves how active the day is, and how much freedom there is to explore. Every day she comes home explosively happy and with lots to tell us about her day. On the weekends she asks how many days until she gets to go back to school.

Silverwood has absolutely been a great fit for our family, and I am so thrilled with this investment in my daughter's future. If you're looking for a secular education for your child, I wholeheartedly recommend Silverwood.

Silverwood is a small school located on a big, forested campus. My children come home every day excited and happy about school. They feel safe, seen, and loved. They are always learning something new - we hear a lot about reading and music from our littlest, and our biggest is obsessed with the science teacher, math, and all the time spent outdoors, rain or shine. Silverwood's teachers care deeply about the students, and the students feel that.

Silverwood went through a difficult time many years ago. The new head, while controversial to some apparently, has been the leader the school needed to thrive. I feel confident that if we were to ask any staff member working at this school now, they would say they feel valued and supported. We are sad to see that the few families that have left feel compelled to leave negative comments on their way out - such is the way of the internet.

To our family, the school feels like an extension of our home. We miss seeing our favorite people - teachers, other students, and yes, the other parents - when we're away for the summer. We are very excited that the school elected to add a middle school program this year - it means more time for our kids to stay!

We pulled our child from this school for similar reasons listed in other reviews, but also because the school was a mess and overall very disorganized with weak leadership from the Board and the individual referenced in other reviews. Now that our child is at a public school, we've found they've fallen behind. We constantly asked ourselves why we were paying for private education when it was subpar to public school education. We are so happy with our decision to go to a public school, but it's been very telling to see how terrible the education was our for child at Silverwood. Parent teacher conferences lasted roughly 2 mins and we got absolutely zero value-add from anyone at this school. Although we will now need to get our child a tutor and extra support to help them be where they need to be, they are so much happier and excelling in many other ways at our public school and we couldn't be happier with our decision.

Silverwood is a truly exceptional institution run by an amazing group of teachers and staff. The new Head of School stepped-up to manage an organization in crisis due to staffing and logistical challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. The school managed to mitigate many of the negative social, emotional, and academic consequences of the pandemic through risk management policies that adapted to the rapidly changing landscape (and in close collaboration with the local health department). Pandemic policies and mitigations to staffing shortages didnt work for every family (so I hear, change is difficult) but they did work for the majority of families including mine. The negative comments here are disappointing but not entirely unexpected after a crisis. However, it is my option that Silverwood should be praised for its handling of the situation and not diminished for it. I assure you, Silverwood is still a magical place with special kids and a truly FANTASTIC staff.

We chose not to enroll our child again and I finally feel comfortable leaving a review. The Head of School has reacted to feedback from parents in a very alarming and inappropriate way, thus, we were waiting until the end of the school year to leave a formal review. Many of the parents were surprised to see she removed the ability to leave Facebook reviews and completely removed reviews when no less than 3 parents began sharing their stories about their interactions with her and shared her lack of ability to lead and keep children safe. Honestly, we likely would have considered enrolling our child again if it weren't for the new Head of School. The parents are great, kids are stellar, and we love the teachers. It's unfortunate that so many teachers with very long tenure have left this year. We've heard rumblings around the reasons and it stems back to the new Head of School. Unfortunately, given our disdain for the Head of School, we would not recommend this school to families.

We had a very negative experience at this school. Now that the school year is nearly over and we arent reenrolling, we feel safer sharing our experience. The head of school is in way over her head and there are major safety concerns. Additionally, many teachers have left due to the culture shes created. Very sad situation, as shes new to the school and has destroyed a great school.

Our daughter was kicked out of this school when we filed a formal complaint with the board and the Head of School on March 24th, 2022. The school is very understaffed with high turnover. Our child was put in multiple situations where we were concerned for her safety and sexual harassment was involved. Multiple parents at this school are dealing with similar situations. Please do your due diligence around the Head of School and ask to talk to parents that have left the school.

First of all, this school enrolls students from KINDERGARTEN through SIXTH GRADE! My son had a fabulous experience at Silverwood School. He came to the school from another local independent school that was not working for our family. He came in midway through his fourth grade year and his anxiety was overwhelming. The entire school staff supported him academically and emotionally. He was a different kiddo when he graduated from Silverwood. He is now attending a public middle school and is doing very well. Silverwood School gave him all of the academic and social emotional tools he needed to deal with middle school. Yay! I wish our family would have found this gem of a school earlier. I highly recommend checking this school out if you have a K-6 child!

Students are taught that there is a negative outcome with bad behavior but not in a shameful way. They learn that people make mistakes and that we have to own up to the mistakes and are then given the opportunity for a do over.

I have found that the teachers are extremely patient and understanding. They understand that each child is an individual and has individual needs. They are absolutely open to communication and will form a United front if there is something that needs to be worked on at home or at school. They want to see my son succeed.

We stumbled upon this gem of a school in the woods before my son started kindergarten and we will forever be grateful. The kids spend so much time outside, rain or shine, learning and exploring the beautiful campus. The classrooms are untraditional with lots of alternative seating to support each students needs. Teachers and staff are engaged, involved, and truly care about the kids, both academically and as a whole person. The ratio is so small, allowing a lot of adult interaction and support for each child. The projects are fun and educational and my son is excited everyday to go to school.

I've been teaching with Silverwood for 8 years, playing many roles and wearing many hats. This has allowed me to work closely with every one of our students for those 8 years.

I love coming to our magical place in the woods, where edventuring is the order of the day - educational adventuring. We have an incredibly close-knit community of welcoming teachers, staff, families, and students who work together and often go to infinity and beyond to make our school great every day.

I've watched so many of our graduated students and their families return in a volunteering capacity because they love Silverwood so much. It makes me happy to know that both our academic and character development curriculum has inspired the children to do so well as they move on, they they can't wait to come back and share their new experiences with their elementary school family. Silverwood rocks!

This school is absolutely incredible! I am so thankful we found it for my son to start kindergarten. Our son loves his school so much and is excited everyday to go learn with his class. The class sizes are small so the students get more one on one time with the teachers. The campus is beautiful and a wonderful environment for learning. The small school allows for a nice community feel. All the teachers and office staff have been truest amazing at making our family feel welcomed. I highly recommend this school! And if the idea of private school and tuition is daunting, they do have financial aid available to families that qualify.

My daughter has been going to Silverwood since kindergarten and she loves going to school every single day. The teachers are wonderful, the class sizes small and the curriculum is truly engaging. I am always delighted to hear about what she is learning in class and her desire to learn is palpable. Silverwood was the light at the end of a tunnel for our family.
After several years in overcrowded classrooms with overworked teachers, my once fun and outgoing child was developing social anxiety and scared to ask questions regarding learning.
Instead of being tossed worksheet after worksheet and teaching to a test or state reviews, the teachers at Silverwood use a variety of techniques to engage students.
Whether it's building an actual tee pee to learn about Native American culture, or hatching and releasing salmon to learn about life cycles, students are active participants in their education. "Ed-venturing" and teaching self-management and responsibility are just as important as basic curriculum.
What good is teaching your child to memorize facts if they have no idea how to apply it to real world situations?
The open-concept classroom design worked very well for my visual/spacial learner. Music and art are incorporated into the majority of curriculum and parents are encouraged to volunteer and take an active part in their child's education.
For a small private school, I found more options available for after-school activities. Pokemon' and chess club, running club, cooking club are just a few options students can partake in.
This hands-on learning environment helped my son go from below grade level to at - and in some subjects - above grade level.
Silverwood is not your cut and dry learning environment found in public schools. If you want a school that teaches the whole child vs. memorization of facts and figures this is the place to be.

I will admit that out first year at Silverwood was a bit of a learning curve in terms of the frequency and type of homework.
We had come from a second grade classroom where students often did up to 5-6 worksheets a day at school and had more than an hour of homework each night.

While homework was not sent home every day at Silverwood, the type of work sent home was engaging and incorporated real-life skills, such as book and computer research, problem solving, spelling, math etc.
Our child seemed to get more out of this type o homework.

As an educator with several years of working in schools, both in the private and public sector, Silverwood School is at the top of my list. I love teaching here. The students are allowed to work at their own pace and take great delight in taking part in lessons that are hands on and engaging. I have found the Silverwood community to be encouraging, welcoming and supportive. It's a great place to be!

This is my 3rd year teaching at Silverwood and I cannot imagine a better place for students to learn and grow. Teachers allow the students to work independently on the curriculum which is focused on important topics relevant to our students. By graduation, our students leave prepared for junior high with a dedicated work ethic and love of learning.

Silverwood is a magical and wondrous place. I have worked and played here for 4 years, and each new year has something to teach me. The Silverwood community is a treasured one with students, parents, teachers, and staff working closely with one another to make learning a journey worth taking. My classroom consists of 18 acres of dense forest, ravines, streams, ponds, and trails. Come rain or shine, there is so much available to supplement and enrich regular classroom instruction. Silverwood is a wonderful school where each child is seen as an individual with individual needs. They are able to differentiate the children from the struggles the children have & help them not only play to their strengths, but face their difficulties head on. SW Review I ve gone to Silverwood for almost five and a half years, five and a half years where I ve been constantly learning and having a lot of fun. It sounds to me like stereotypically, kids don t like school, but I feel the opposite about Silverwood. Its friendly teachers are people you can rely on for protection and support, and lessons are taught in interactive, easy-to-understand ways. Projects are fun and are full of choices, transforming what may have been a boring thousand- word essay on electrovalence into a colorful poster actually showing electrons orbiting multiple atoms. And I, a student of Silverwood, feel challenged and cherished every day. Five stars!

As an Alumni of Silverwood School, I can look back on my experience here and I am thankful that I was able to attend such an amazing school in my elementary years. The teachers at Silverwood are amazing and take time on each student so that they can reach their full potential. Not only do they want us to succeed academically but they want us to want to do our best. Silverwood's teachers are loving, encouraging, and eventually they become like family. I loved this school, because it taught us everything we need to know and more, this school does not do the bare minimum. Silverwood strives to go above and beyond to give children the best educational and fun experience any student would want.

I am an alumni and currently in my first year of college. Silverwood definately gave me the knowledge I needed to succeed.I felt very prepared going into middle school and was placed in many honors classes. I believe the smaller class size and individualized attention was key to receiving the wonderful education I got at Silverwood. When I think back to my days at Silverwood, I remember a lot of hands on activities, interesting projects and outdoors learning. The forest surrounding this school allows the students to experience a very unique play ground. I found the transition from a small private school to large public middle school fairly easy and found that in addition to being well prepared academically, I was able to branch out and socialize very easily. I would highly suggest Silverwood School to anyone who wants their children to get a fantasic education with some truly wonderful and passionate teachers.

Silverwood school is cool. It is 1st through 6th grade. It has a wide range of subjects from math to art. Children have lots of fun at Silverwood with a 15 acre campus that provies a wonderful outdoor experience. Since first grade, the year of 2008-2009, I have been going to school at Silverwood. It is a great, caring, beautiful school. The school will challenge and cherish the children. Silverwood has great teachers, who are wonderful. From field trips to the sixth grade trip, all of them are fun. You can really build a strong character at Silverwood, along with many friends. The teachers will support you through everything going on. They're always caring, and they love the children unconditionally. You will find out how things work, and how to solve problems mentally, and in reality. I've had great experiences at SWS. It is an amazing school, that is really hard to leave. Children can really find themselves at SWS.

I go to Silverwood School and I love it here because there are so many fun projects. For example, we have a Wax Museum where everybody picks a person, studies them and puts together a big beautiful display and gives a speech about them! Also the feild trips are fun and you learn from them. When we went to Mt St Helens, we were studying volcanoes so we understood it much better. Also the teachers took pictures and after that we made scrapbooks for memories. The teachers make things fun. I love math because it is more than 2+2=? good job. They explain it like 2+2=? well hold up two fingers on one hand and two on the other and then put them together to get four. Also you may think music is just for singing but at Silverwood we learn things like "Good boys deserve fudge" g,b,d,f. At the end of music we get to free dance and Miss Kay makes it very fun. Miss Nancy is very nice and understanding when you get something wrong. She will say, "How about we sit down and work it out together?" Art is also really fun because we get to do projects, paint, make clay pieces, use water colors, markers, colored pencils and chalk. It is fun to let your imagination go wild and free in everything.

You should go to Silverwood because they prepare you for what is ahead. The teachers are friendly and smart. The lessons are great too. They are different from the types of lessons you would have at a public school. I would highly recommend going to Silverwood School.

Silverwood is amazing. I have been here starting in first grade. In someways it's a normal school, people have friends, they have frenemies, and we have class presidents in fifth and sixth grade. But in ways it's not a normal school. We have awesome over night field trips starting in third grade. The sixth graders get a sixth grade trip, when they go to somewhere far away (this year they're going to Utah) for a week. At silverwood, math is harder than it is in public schools. So when you're in 5th grade here, you would be in public school's 6th grade level of math. We also have alot of projects in 5th and 6th grade. One of the main projects during project season is the wax museum. Kids fromn 3rd grade through 6th grade pick a famous person and do a project on them. The teachers at Silverwood are very nice and make the already awesome school even more awesome!

Silverwood is an amazing school, it is full of amazing teachers, great materials, and a great variety of things to do. I have been a student of Silverwood for 6 years now, and I rarely am able to find a flaw with Silverwood. It has a rather advanced curriculum, they never cease to amaze me with how polite the teachers are. Silverwood has helped me achieve my full potential. So I truly thank them for that. Silverwood has an amazing campus, with a large wooded area. It has a very cool ravine in the fifth and sixth grade area. The woods are devided into sections, a very small section for the first and second graders, an enlarged section for the third and fourth graders and the biggest part is for the fifth and sixth graders. Overall I would rate Silverwood five out of five stars.

Silverwood is a wonderful community tucked into a wooded campus. Every child is cherished and treated as an individual at Silverwood. The teachers are amazing. They want your child to be successful and to grow to be who they are not another number. If you have questions or problems you can call or email the teacher and know you will get a response. The best part is feeling like it is a family and that every one is loved and cared for there.

It is truly a privilege to be a part of the Silverwood community. The school's wooded environment is beautiful--it invites exploration and inspires many creative projects. The teaching staff is highly qualified and very dedicated, striving to serve the needs of each student as an individual learner. They share an enthusiasm for education as a life-long goal. I wish we could put into words what Silverwood School really means to us. Our child had such anxiety about going to school when he was in public school that he shut down completely. Now he is happy and thriving! His academics are great & the teachers know him as an individual. They know what stresses him, they know how to help him work through that...they know when to push him & when to give him a break. They believe in him and in his ability to become his best self. And when he has an "off day", they separate the child from the behavior...something that is difficult to do & rare to find. These teachers really do love the children & the whole school works diligently to build a beautiful sense of community. They are always happy to talk about the needs of each child & help us figure out how to give them the best educational experience they can have. When they say Silverwood is a place where children are "Challenged and Cherished" they mean it. I cannot say enough good about them. If you want your child to have a warm, challenging, creative school experience that will teach them to be independent & confident learners... this is the place for you!

One of the things that drew me to seeking employment at Silverwood was the beautiful and unique wooded campus and the atmosphere of creativity and joy of learning I both read about and personally witnessed. I couldn't be more pleased with the freedom Silverwood gives the staff, students, and families to explore learning in a setting that encourages individuality and resilience. Yes, sending a child to Silverwood is a sacrifice -- it's not "free" like public school. But when our child comes home from Silverwood and says "I like school" or "Math is fun", it is all worth it.

My son and I think Silverwood is the best school in Kitsap County, without a doubt. He is in his 3rd year at there. Playing in the woods is the best part of the school , says my video-game addict who rather goes outside when at home. Teachers who truly care and challenge my son, are the reasons that causes us to forego other things so he can attend. I strongly recommend any parent interested in getting the best education for their child, to contact Silverwood School.

Silverwood School is changing my daughter's life. My daughter was lost in a sea of students and standardized testing. She was being labled as just below average but good enough to pass. She got the message loud and clear. She started acting the part. Now that she is at Silverwood she is learning to love learning again. She is finding her own pace and her own path. She is feeling her individuality and embracing what makes her special. This place is a valuable choice in our community.

My son is in first grade at Silverwood and he is loving it! He attended a private Montessori for preschool and kindergarten and did very well in that environment. I was afraid of having him attend a public school and getting lost or overlooked because the classes are so big. He's great at staying on task and loves doing the work, but he is like most other children who need positive feedback from their teacher so that they don't lose their enthusiasm for learning and I was afraid he wouldn't get that in a public school setting. His teacher, Ms. Brenda, does an excellent job of letting him know her expectations for him and He absolutely adores her. He loves going to school every day and has made lots of new friends. I can't say enough positive things about the school and its staff. I definitely recommend Silverwood to all of my friends with children!

Silverwood School's motto is "Challenge and Cherish", and I have found that to be true every day for my son. He has attended Silverwood since 1st grade and is now in 6th grade, his final year. Every one of the outstanding teachers knows him as an individual and helps him to achieve his best work, in everything from math and science to art and reading. He is light-years beyond where he would be in a public school at this point in his life, and I know that the foundation Silverwood has helped him build will give him a strong base for success in his future education and life.

Silverwood School has been a safe and caring learning environment for my daughter. She is challenged daily in her academics. The campus is beautiful and a perfect place for inquisitive minds to explore and learn from their environment. The teachers make learning fun, whether it be Jackson Pollock marble paintings or jumping rope to practice spelling words. It is exciting to see my daughter love to go to school.

Our son started at Silverwood in his first grade year and he is now in 5th grade. Private school is a sacrifice, but definitely one worth making when your child gets the Silverwood experience. Our son's not afraid to raise his hand in class when he knows the answer, he's excited to extend his learning beyond the classroom to the point of going to historical sights that he's discovered during class projects while on vacations , and he loves going to school every day. Silverwood is a small school so there is a lot of parent participation, which makes families as a whole invested in the school. Every year the kids do Young Authors, Wax Museum and other projects. There are the basics of reading, writing and math as well as art, music and Spanish. I am confident that our sacrifice in sending our child to Silverwood School will last him well beyond the 6th grade.
