I would give this school a solid 5 out of 5 stars. It's a small school, but it is big on respect and safety, and creating a great learning place for our kiddos.

Kindergarten thru 1st graders don't have mandatory homework, which makes a lot of sense, especially since they are already full time in Kindergarten. My kids love it, and they are advanced readers too!

I would say most, if not all, the teachers seem to LOVE what they do. It's very apparent because my kids love going to school.

If there is an issue or incident at school, we are always notified, no matter how big or small. If there is an issue with something, the principal sits down with each student and makes sure the both of them understand the expectations of being kind and considerate. It's a nice thing for me as a parent, because one of our rules at home is "treating others as you would want to be treated", and the like, are being reinforced at school.

I've never seen a principal so involved! We see her almost every day... whether it's filling-in for the crossing guard or just waving to the buses at the end of the day. I don't even remember my principal's name when I went to school. But Mrs. Rogers is very involved and a great leader. It's really great.

There is a great team of people helping out with those who have learning disabilities. There was a deaf student in my child's class last year and there was a teacher dedicated to her and her alone in order for her to participate with the rest of the class.

As I mentioned in an earlier topic, if there is an issue or incident at school, we are always notified, no matter how big or small. If one of my kids gets bonked on the head at P.E. or if one of them is being bullied or has a serious spat with friends, we are notified. The principal, Mrs. Rogers, has a degree in Child Psychology, so this is an excellent skill to have in school.

Our family especially enjoys the music programs, unicycle program before school (parades are fun for children to participate in!) and the before school tutoring opportunities. Teachers are very approachable and are happy to provide assistance. Lovely community spirit, go Grizzlies!

Homework supports learning covered in class; I appreciate the opportunity to see/ practice material covered during class.

My son attended one year here before moving him to Silverdale Elementary. The school is fine but it was not a good fit for my son.

This was my daughter's first year at Green Mountain and we love it. It's got the small neighborhood feel. The teachers are wonderful and really spend a lot of time with your child. My daughters grades have never been better. School is fun to her and she is more outing. I'm so happy because her previous school was not a good experience for us. The music recital her class did was so cute, you could tell the spent a lot of time rehearsing. It's sad a lot of schools don't recitals anymore. Love, LOVE this school.
