This school is one of a kind! My children have all adored their experiences at Madrona, both in the early childhood and grade school programs. They emerged more confident, curious, and kind, due in no small part to the strong bonds with their outstanding teachers. The Waldorf approach has worked for them, and transformed academic learning from a daily grind into a engaged and proactive intellectual journey. They have loved the schools outdoor time, nature, and art, as well as opportunities for deep friendship and connection in a small-group setting.

My kid has thrived academically and emotionally--we are so happy here. Looked at all the schools on BI, and so glad we chose this one!

Our son recently graduated from Madrona School, attending Kindergarten through 8th grade. His main teacher and the specialty teachers treated him and his classmates with much respect and fostered their working together in community and continually strengthened and built on their learning skills. The teachers know much about the stages of child development and strive to educate their students in a way that honors the wholeness of who are they are. The children are led into reading and comprehending and discerning in wholesome and engaging ways. My son is succeeding in public high school and is a very capable, eager learner.

This school is pure magic! Mixed with lots of love, space for imagination, creativity, relationship, movement, rhythm and ritual. I have never experienced a place like Madrona before. The Parent Child class sold me on the ways of Waldorf - observation, quiet space, engaging, child led play, and self awareness and reflection. We want our kiddos to know themselves, to speak/use their voice and to have a strong sense of agency over themselves. This school. Madrona. The Waldorf education has already given our daughter a strong sense of self and she lives from that place. As a mom I always feel like I am being guided to get to my own place as a mother, what feels right for me not anyone else. The teachers provide that space, they ask provoking questions as they listen to you and I always find my way. I could go on and on!

I dont recommend this school to anyone. Some teachers feels like they are doing you a favor in teaching your child. They are overwhelmed by their students

We have been at Madrona for 5 years and have enjoyed every year. They look at the whole child; they promote spiritual and emotional intelligence as well as academics. Also, their preschool/kindergarten class is now an outdoor learning environment. So many reasons why that change is so necessary for children in this day and age.

This is our fourth year at the Madrona School. All three of our children are there and are thriving beautifully. I love the focus and emphasis on each individual child and their development and how they also work with bringing each class together and building strong social skills. The academics are excellent as well as the arts music and outdoor time. The outdoor nature kindergarten days have really been my children's favorite and really set the school apart from others my older children attended. There is a strong parent community and parent involvement and it's a great place to be a part of. As with other Waldorf schools the teachers move with the students through the grades and this is something that we have found so helpful for our children. Our children are able to build close relationships with their teachers and grow with them. We feel lucky to have found such an amazing Waldorf school.
