This public-homeschool hybrid is perfect for our family. We appreciate the caring and knowledgeable teachers and staff, the supportive and friendly community, and the flexibility to home educate in the way that is best for our children. It really is the best of both worlds, public school and homeschool.

A fantastic resource for the Renton community! All of the teachers are compassionate, caring, and enthusiastic. I've never seen a school community where such a variety of kids are accepted by their peers without question, regardless of their race, ethnicity, national origin, disability, religion, language, gender identity, etc. If your child is suffering trauma after being bullied in another educational setting, this is a great place for them to regain their confidence and love of learning. Thank you, H.O.M.E. Program!

An excellent alternative to traditional schools or pure home schooling, the Renton School District program allows for a broad range of subjects to be taught in a very small and personalized setting. The sense of community and family fostered at the school is second to none and creates a welcoming learning environment for students just starting their scholastic journeys. No where else will you find Latin, Science, cooking and poetry for young students with out spendy private schools. The one thing one needs to know is other than helping your child grow, parents are expected to be actively involved in their child's education. This is not a drop them off and forget about them school - the winning combinations is the fact that students, teachers and parents are all in the loop. I can't say enough great things about this school. I actually travel from out of district after a recent move to allow my daughter to attend.

This school is the answer for the involved parent of a child who isn't thriving in the large school setting. My child, who was intellectually advanced, but with special needs, attended the HOME Program for high school. Teachers were caring, gave individualized attention, and worked closely with parents. The college-bound can bridge seamlessly to the Running Start program to complete high school at community college. I can't say enough about the supportiveness of all the staff, and a few teachers who were academically outstanding. K-8 enrichment classes are available for home schoolers, also individual music instruction. Students are respectful of each other and the teachers. Be forewarned: parents MUST be involved, and students should be prepared to miss out on some of the social activities of the larger schools.
